Trust when I say Trafton's is the BEST around. They are not only knowledgeable, but the most honest and friendly shop I've ever used. I can't rave enough, they saved me!!! My love for them is infinite.

I've had work done on my car by them and currently have my car in their shop (for a different reason mind you). Despite a mix up in dialog, Traftons has shown themselves to be patient, solution based and customer focused. No one is happy when they get a big bill for their car, but one has to make sure the job is done right, and traftons has proven to me that they do just that.

Our 84 VW Vanagon Westy broke down at a rest stop on I-5 sixty miles north of Portland. We called a bunch of shops & were referred to Trafton’s VW specialists & got towed there. They fixed it within a day, and were super nice and helpful! So grateful we can get back on the road.

I was so impressed by the service at Trafton's. I sent in an inquiry about replacing our windshield motor and they called right away to set something up and told me that instead of hopping in and replacing the motor, they'd do an inspection to make sure it wasn't a simpler problem that would be cheaper and easier. They got me in right away and kept me up to date on what they were running into. Not only did they fix our windshield issue, they also found that the last time we had an oil change they had stripped the plug and it caused a crack in the pan so they fixed that for us as well. We feel a lot safer in our car and now have a trusty mechanic that we can use in the future, too!

Great team of experienced, friendly, knowledgeable, all-around wonderful folks here who have helped me with my vintage VW. I really recommend them, especially if you are like me and you don’t know much about cars. I was seriously about to donate my car to the junkyard, I was so frustrated with the persistent coolant leaking that no one could stop. Wyatt in particular was really helpful in letting me know he thought they could really help. Wyatt, Jeff, and Tommy never made me feel stupid (some mechanics get annoyed by my ignorance and I feel so small), and I felt like I could trust them to guide me ethically about what to do. These guys are my favorites, and they’re the best so I only go to them now. They have fixed persistent coolant problems with my car other mechanics just could or would not. They were shockingly fast to get my car done, both times, and they were really helpful in explaining why and how they did things before they did them. They just have a really great way there and I love it! Go see these guys.

There aren't enough good things to say about Jeff and his crew. After months of searching, I finally found an MK6 GTI with exactly the features I wanted. The only problem? I live in Tennessee. After completing the sale, my sister was able to pick it up and said it ran and drove great, until it didn't. The clutch slave cylinder/release bearing decided to give up the ghost. While they were in there, they noticed a few other things and asked if I wanted to address them. Before any additional repairs, Jeff made sure to call me and explain what was needed. He also sent pictures and videos so I could "see" what was wrong. This was incredibly reassuring. 10/10 recommend Trafton's. My only complaint is that they are located over 2000 miles away and *probably* can't be my regular shop. Thanks guys!

Joe and his team were very friendly and easy to work with. My car had a rattling sound that was bothering me, but hard to diagnose. Joe went for two different test rides with me, and quickly figured out where the noise was coming from. He was able to fix the problem in under 30 minutes, and had me in and out of there in no time. They are friendly, the pricing is fair, and I am actually looking forward to going back!

Trafton's Foreign Auto Trafton’s was a lifesaver so appreciative and grateful for them. Just bought a vintage 1979 VW bus and at the gas station when I open the side door, a piece on the bottom came off and it hit the ground and it wouldn’t shut. Trying to take it home to Chicago and I was able just to drop by and have them get it shut for me so that I can make the long trip home. This is a great place warm and inviting great service!!

Shout out to Wyatt and all the mechanics here! I've been having backfiring issues with my car for months. I brought it to the original dealership that I purchased it from to fix the issues and they claimed they fixed it yet the problems persisted. Trafton's Foreign Auto fixed it in less than a day and a half! My car issues were a massive headache for a while, and now I'm enjoying my joyrides in my VW again 😄👍🚘 Thank you Trafton's! I'll be returning if it has any other issues in the future! - Alissa J 💃

I recently had my VW serviced at Trafton’s and was very pleased with my experience. They were able to schedule me immediately for an appointment, whereas the dealership was booked for two weeks. Jeff helped me throughout my whole experience and he was always friendly and very helpful. I found the crew to be communicative, genuine, and capable of doing good work. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back to Trafton’s next time my car needs service, and I will also be recommending my fellow VW and Subaru driving friends!

I can't say enough good things about this shop. I damaged the driver's side mirror on my Porsche Macan. The Porsche dealer could not even see my car for over a week and then, who knows, how long or how much. Wyatt and Tommy from Trafton took a look at it the same day, ordered the part and fixed it the next. I know where I am taking my car for services henceforth!

Just moved into town, brought in our new to us 1980 rabbit diesel truck for some electrical work and some TLC. As a VW enthusiast, I’ve dealt with many specialist shops in my day. This place was very organized, up front and professional. Truck runs great, would recommend to anyone needing a honest mechanic. I also have a aircooled and will use them for future repairs

So.. Quite like grandpa occasionally wetting his pants, Herbie over here decided he needed to piddle on the floor a little and had an oil leak. We all know old cars have personalities which is why I trust the guys at Traftons in Portland to do all my automotive work. They are always on time, affordable and know just how to work with these older cars. Special thanks to Steve, Rebecca and Rich! ~Dustin

For a place with a VW van as its logo, they seem unskilled in upgrading VW vans, which is a crucial aspect of keeping an old van relevant for continued use. They are very expensive for what you get. I spent over $5000 on having my engine rebuilt, only to have it fail after 20k miles, and then they charged me a diagnostic fee to look at it, only to tell me there is no warranty and they want an additional $5k to install an engine that I would still have to find and buy. Trafton's does good work with basic repairs, but lacks knowledge or interest in customization upgrades. I recommend visiting SmallCar Performance in Fife, WA, if possible. They are significantly more knowledgeable and helpful in providing solutions to address the issues with these older vehicles.

I came into Trafton Auto yesterday to see if they can check my fuses and possibly replace one if needed. I have no clue on where the fuse box is and came hoping to find help. I could've gone to an Auto Zone, but I was hoping to make a new contact for a VW specialist. My family and I are new residents of Portland. Jeff was nice and I was able to bypass a diagnostic the woman at the counter suggested to "check" the fuses. I was surprised when she said that, but Jeff said he'd do me a solid and have someone look at it right quick. I thought that was very lovely. I am VERY happy with the service, and will probably go back to get service on my beloved VW Beetle.

Before going to Traftons, I brought my 2015 Audi A5 Coupe Quattro into the dealer in the general Portland area for a major 35k mile service. They were booked out for almost 3 weeks and told me they wouldn’t be able to get to it right away as a result. A friend of mine referred me to Trafton’s. I was able to make an appt for the following week. To my surprise Jeff was calling me just 5 hours later to let me know that my baby was finished and ready to go! I am truly astounded at how efficient these guys are! When I asked exactly what was included in the service and what all was replaced, Joey promptly walked me out to my Audi and popped the hood to explain the service. They are fast, high quality, clean, and very professional. Thanks so much guys!

After waiting over a year for parts or a 73 VW type3 at another place I called Traftons. Jeff and crew diagnosed the problem as the fuel pump and ordered it. When it too failed to solve the problem, “running rich” they sent the new one back and our original out to be rebuilt. Back on the road in just under a month at Traftons and on budget too. I look forward to seeing them again for our VW needs. Thanks

I haven't actually been in this business, most likely I was working close to it. But if I need any work done on either of my Porsche's I'll make it a point to check it out and post on my experience.

I took my Porsche in to Traftons and I was very impressed with how professional they were. Jeff seemed to be all knowing and could answer every question I had. I couldn't afford all of the repairs that I needed done, so Jeff made it easy for me to prioritize my repairs. Everyone in the shop was very welcoming and eager to help me. I would 100% recommend Trafton's to my friends and family. I look forward to going back and getting my car fully repaired!

Took my 2006 Forester in for an oil leak. Unfortunately the headgasket was leaking. The team at Trafton’s did an amazing job fixing it, and did it in a reasonable amount of time. Happy to have my car back on the road!
