Long is very easygoing and honest about what you need for your repairs. He doesn't inflate prices or do unnecessary work. I don't trust my car with anyone else.

The owner has been my trusted mechanic for several years. I just never have to worry or wonder if it will get done right at a fair cost.

My initial perception was of a reputable and straightforward car repair shop. RI appeared friendly and welcoming; we engaged in conversation about my automobile. He assured me, "I promise you, I'll offer you a fair price." Consequently, I permitted them to perform a diagnostic on my car. Upon collecting my car today, the total bill came to $1,300 and some change. I inquired with RI to confirm if this was the final price he could offer. He responded by directing me to speak with Jim about the discount. Initially, I assumed RI was my point of contact and hence walked away as he returned to his work area. The bill showed a diagnostic fee of $150.00. I questioned Jim, considering I was under the impression the fee was only $75.00. He questioned, "Who told you that?" To which I replied, "RI. Why don't you consult with him?" Subsequently, he offered, "Okay, I'll apply the good guy discount." After settling the payment, I courteously bid farewell. My grievance lies with the lack of clear communication and the promise of a significant discount. It was necessary for me to explicitly inquire about the $150.00 charge after being initially told it would be $75.00. Paying the amount is not the issue; I seek transparency with their clientele. Thank you.

Both my light bulbs went out on my ford transit van Ri the guy at the front desk replaced them virtually for nothing all I had to pay was the price for the light bulbs! No labor. They got it done in 5 mins and I was on my way! Highly recommend 👍🏾

Beware! Long is no longer the mechanic here and the new people lied and said the business is still in the family, though it clearly is not. I don’t understand why the new place was able to take over Long’s google account and all of his good reviews. I talked to Long, and he doesn’t know the new owners. The new mechanic was very cagey and wouldn’t give a straight answer, claiming that he needed to diagnose the car even though the problem was straightforward and the 5 other shops I called were able to give me a price over the phone. Go elsewhere. I miss Long’s honesty!

I'm in the middle of building out a 30 year old van to live out of for a gap year. Because of its age different issues have popped up here and there as I work on it. Due to this I've been to the mechanic a number of times, and ill continue to take my van to Jim whenever something goes wrong. He used to work at a shop 5 minutes from me but has recently moved to Car Fix Renton and is one of the new owners. Because of the move he's now about 30 minutes away from me depending on traffic. I cant think of many services I would drive that much further for when there are so many closer options, but the quality of work, thoroughness, and communication I've received time and time again through him is well worth it. I cant recommend this place enough.

Jim Peters has been my mechanic for 25 years. I met him when he worked for Hilltop Service Station- where he worked on my 20 year old Toyota corolla and for the past 15 years he alone has maintained my Toyota RAV4. He is honest, reasonably priced; tells me when a service is needed and helps me plan for it and he has often told me nothing needed to be done when he could have made a sale of unneeded service. I will always recommend Jim to anyone who would wants a highly skilled and ethical mechanic .

I had an amazing experience here with Jim! I came with an issue on my 2020 Honda accord and he offered me his help and had the issue fixed in less than a hour. Very great business that is fair and not trying to hit people over the head! Will come back for all future car needs!

Told me it would cost over 900 dollars to replace my carburetor, a 400 dollar part where all you would need to do is bolt it on and put the lines back in. 20 minute job. Then told me that a carburetor rebuild kit, a 50 dollar kit would be EVEN MORE To fix because “labor costs”. They took one of my adjustable wrenches, left the air filter off my carburetor, left their clipboards and junk in my van. Do not come here unless you are prepared to pay more than double what you should.

I came to these guys after some questionable info from other mechanics, thinking my car was doomed, and Car Fix was able to be very specific with testing and gave me a clear picture of what’s happening specifically with my catalytic converters, with affordable options and they got me back on the road. I can’t thank them enough and I highly recommend them. Honest and great guys.

Although Its’ sad too see that long no longer works here, here’s my experience and honest opinion with the new management. RI and Jim are nice people that show respect to their customers and respect other people’s vehicles while working on them. RI offered me courtesy repairs like switching my battery out, installing clips to my bumper insuring safe drives and many more for free. He gives out a good reputation for the business, the customer care and the respect he gives out to everyone. Jim has good customer service and insures everyone that their cars are in good hands especially telling me what I need next and how well he did changing out my tensioner and my serpentine belt. All though I can’t expect everything to be the same, the things that I noticed that did change is pricing. All though the prices may vary and they’re not wallet breaking, it is an impact for others. I feel like people are kinda frustrated about the new price changes because long gave more affordable prices back then. But we do got to understand it is a business where people need to be paid especially from all the different workers operating the shop. For my comment for management i think there should be better communication with their staff and the people about deciding prices especially when bringing parts in. I was told I would pay 90$ an hour since I brought my parts in which was not too bad, but when I got spoke with by a different person they made pay a fixed rate insuring me it’ll take 2-3 hours to do the job. After getting receipt and also looking at the time. The job took less than an hour and it is also printed on the receipt on how long they took with my car. Although it was 260$ which was like 3 hours of work I had to pay. I feel like there was poor communication on my end and would rather pay the 90$ an hour. But I’ll keep new customers updated with more information. But everything else they were great people and I will be coming back again!!

Friendly and trustworthy shop! I called Car Fix this morning for a last-minute brake job, and Ri was so friendly, honest, and eager to help. He was transparent about the price as well as informative to the fact that my brakes would not have a warranty since I bought the pads/rotors myself. Really appreciated that! They got my car in right away — I dropped it off around 10:30 and had it back before 2! The price was fair, the service was amazing, and I felt really well taken care of. My brakes feel great, and I couldn’t be happier. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending Car Fix to everyone I know!

Car Fix did a great job working on my Toyota Sienna. They also gave me a very reasonable estimate, so much less than what a dealership would charge. I asked them to replace my knock sensors, spark plugs and many other items. I was worried because this work would entail removing the top half of my engine to accomplish. But Car Fix came through and replaced everything perfectly. Great Job Guys!!!!

I went to Car Fix in Renton to have my Chevy Silverado looked at. I was very impressed with the customer service I received. Ri was very engaging and took care of me from the get go! Right when I walked in, he asked me what I needed and I explained that my truck was shutting off, and it had to do with the fuel filter. After talking to Ri about the service I needed, Jim, his partner went over all the mechanics. Jim was very knowledgeable. Up to this point I’ve only taken my truck to the Chevy dealer. I got a great estimate and I couldn’t be any happier with the work they did. Ri and Jim, the owners of this place make it my go to place for future work. I highly recommend Car Fix in Renton to anyone who needs honest, quality automotive care.

I had a great experience at Car Fix Renton Automotive! Ri and Jim were incredibly helpful from the moment I arrived for a car inspection. They took the time to explain the issues with my vehicle in an easy-to-understand way, which I really appreciated. It never felt overwhelming. It felt like honest and straightforward guidance. I ended up needing my brakes and front axle replaced, and I truly valued their transparency and care throughout the process. The brakes have a 3-year, 36,000-mile warranty. You can tell they genuinely care about their customers' safety and want you to feel confident getting back on the road. The customer service was excellent, and I'm grateful for their honesty and professionalism. I highly recommend them!
