The worst company ever. They will scam you and make you pay more than what it cost. I beg you not to come here. I got a jeep for “30 a day” Ended up 50 a day and he said “ i thought we were on the same page” very very unprofessional and low life people work here.★★★★★ 2 years ago

Never rent from this company. They charge you a deposit for rental and they wont pay you back. When I contacted headquaters they told me off and suggested that I should dispute the charges. I tried to dispute it, but still they did not return my deposit. So, instead of saving money on this car rental I actually lost my deposit and lost lot of time trying to get my money back. I also read numerious reviews on Yelp and other sites that I am not the only one. Toxic freaken company, stay away and tell your friends. THEY DO IT TO EVERYBODY. And even if it is afranchise, would I rent a car from same company's different franchise after experience like that? Never. It is better to deal with more reputable company. I learned my lesson.★★★★★ Edited 13 years ago

This is not an ordinary car rental company. If you live in Los Angeles and wish to rent a car from U-Save in Los Angeles, you must first also own a car AND carry full comprehensive insurance on it (the law requires car owners to carry liability insurance only in California). If I was from anywhere except Los Angeles, I might have been required to purchase their collision insurance, but they could have rented me a car. I had selected to purchase their collision insurance, but I was turned away at the pickup counter. I went home, reserved a car with an ordinary car rental company and picked it up without a problem.★★★★★ 3 years ago

I travel regularly! I rent cars all the time. This rental company is unethical. It took over 2 hours to get from terminal to via their shuttle system to office. I watched as they told customer after customer that they were late because they only hold the rate for 2 hours and the rate for the rental is no longer available. Thus tripling the price. Do not rent here you will be hustled and scammed.★★★★★ 3 years ago

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. 1. This car company is not located at San Juan airport. 2. The office doesn’t even have air conditioning. 3. I waited first for one hour and at the end they asked me to come back because there were not cars available. They advices me to come three hours later. I did come three hours later. They made me wait two more hours because “the system was down” In an office filled with sweated and frustrated customers because it was sooo hot and everybody was passing through the same. 4. I paid 60 usd in Uber rides since they didn’t have the cars ready. 5. Even though they asked me to come at 7:00 pm and my reservation was at 6:30 pm they were playing the game of “you didn’t come at 6:30 pm so you lost your booking” 6. Finally the manager game name a car and he was insinuating pushing me to get the full coverage insurance when it should be optional. 7. At the time of the return at the hot office with no AC they didn’t have vans to transport me to the airport so I needed to take another Uber. 15 usd more. 8. No one could take me in the car that I just returned as a complementar service. This company sucks.... and the customer service level is sooooo poor★★★★★ 4 years ago

In some cases you get MORE than what you pay for. These days it’s all about customer experience and U-Save knows how to provide excellent service. Occasionally, a car has an issue. When my rental did U-Save did the right thing and made things right. I’m 100% satisfied with how they handled things and will absolutely rent from them in the future.★★★★★ 5 years ago

STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION. If I could give a minus 100 stars to this place I would. This was by far the worst rental experience I ever had. I rented a 14 passenger van from this location and it was by far the worst van I ever drove. The steering wheel was so wobbly you have to keep steering 30 degrees left and anther 30 degrees right at all time to keep it going straight. I had friends coming from around the states to go to Coachella for a friends birthday and couldn’t find another alternative for the time being since all other companies were completely sold out. So I drove it to Palm Springs. When I was half way and it started to get super hot a decided to turn on the AC to find out that it’s not even working. Blowing straight hot air. So I called the office and told them about what happened. Seriously this van felt like an oven by the time I got to Palm Springs. After few phone calls with U-Save office it was a mutual decision to take it to a mechanic in Coachella on the day after (Saturday ) to get this issue fixed. So after looking all over I finally found a mechanic that was open and has time to fix it but he over charged me because he was the only one available and he knew it. Finally got the van fixed and was able to drive back to LA. Gave them all the receipt and paperwork and U-Save employee said that they would reimburse me for that mechanic bill. But it’s been over a year now and still haven’t received anything. Called a couple times and they keep shuffling me around. WORST CAR. WORST MANAGEMENT. WORST BUSINESS ETHICS. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE..... I might have to take them to court to get my money back. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.★★★★★ 5 years ago

U-Save is located inside a paid parking companies parking lot (Wally Express). They don't have their own shuttle, so you have to be sure to look in the fine print when you book your car rental. You also get to deal with going back and forth to get vouchers from Wally Express to leave with your rental car. The workers were nice but they require a huge deductible and without telling you before hand they require proof of liability insurance. I paid with a business credit card that covers liability, but they refused to believe me. So then I got to call up my insurance company to obtain proof, luckily they were open... They also don't fill the gas tanks on the cars. So when you bring it back, you have to fill it up to where it was before (1/4 full). Good luck guessing how much gas to put in. I won't use U-Save again.★★★★★ 9 years ago

hey will take your money and charge your credit card for anything even if you didnt get anything t be charged for like i was charged for an upgrade fee which i wasnt upgraded and then i was charge for a early check in pick up of car when and why would they do that ive never heard of a car rental place charging additional fees for picking up your car rental a few hours earlier than reserved. then returned car 3 mins over and they charged a late return of $101.00 after the fact it states on there rules and regulations there is a 59 min grace period , what kind of business is this. Its SCAM written all over . Trying to take peoples money it may be cheap when you reserve it but to be honest they will get you once you sign your agreement and make any excuse to take more money so i warn everyone. Rent with a reputable rental car company beware of USAVE and GREENMOTION. and there Customer Service reps are horrible . while trying to resolve situation they said they couldnt help me there only in customer service. (ISNT THAT WHAT CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES ?? HELP THE CUSTOMER RESOLVE THERE ISSUE!!!!!) BEWARE BEWARE WHEN YOU THINK YOU GOT A DEAL RENTING FROM THEM YOU DONT CAUSE THEY WILL CHARGE YOU AT TIMEOF PICK UP AND DROP OFF MORE THAN RENTING FROM A HIGHER CLASS RENATL COMPANY!!!!★★★★★ 2 years ago

What a great experience we had, working with Lester at U-Save / Green Motion. His energy, enthusiasm and joy-for-life were infectious and he has great knowledge about the rental industry. We felt very well taken care of. If you rent from there, we encourage you to wait for Lester at desk #1 (bc he IS number 1)!★★★★★ 2 years ago

Tee and Lester were amazing. They stayed a little later while our flight was delayed and they were super personable. The cars here are always clean and new. Thank you being trusting and reliable guys!!!★★★★★ 2 years ago

Used to be a chain car rental agency customer. Used to be. When I rent, I simply need a reliable inexpensive car to get me from here to there. U-Save is a few blocks from my house, so it's easy. It beat the best price I was quoted at a major agency 3 blocks north of them. Nice friendly staff. Must knock and wait a moment for the LA Cienega-facing door to open, it's locked for their safety and their customers'. I was a walk-in, so my car wasn't pristine but I didn't care. It wouldn't have been fair to expect that as I walked in literally during their worker's lunch hour. For the good price and convenience alone, it was a fair deal. U-Save? I saved. 😁★★★★★ 7 years ago

Don’t use this company unless you like trouble. The place was already closed when we got there to return the car before 8pm. After office hour return was not mentioned on the premises or the contract. No one answered at customer service. We have put in the contract we would return the car at 9pm. But the man at the counter didn’t say a word how to return the car after working hours. Ended up, we found the place to return the car on google. Worse still, we didn’t choose Usave. We were redirected to their website when we were choosing the car. Looks like they hack other companies to get business.★★★★★ 2 years ago

The worst experience I have ever had at a car rental place - waited 2.5 hours, the website claims no insurance but when we got there it was required .. this has never happened at any other rental service. If we didn’t find our policy number we would have had to pay ~25 a day for their insurance. Waited out in the 90 deg. weather under the sun and the inside wasn’t much better. When we finally got our car, the car had an engine check light on. Worker said my mother did not know how to drive because the car would not turn on properly. Main issue was the insurance, felt like a scam. Everyone there was complaining- one woman even said she had to fight with one of the workers there over insurance. This was crazy. 0/5 stars if i could give it that.★★★★★ 3 years ago

AVOID!!! STAY AWAY!! Crazy high “INTERNATIONAL” insurance fees that will more than TRIPLE your rental quote. RUDE and TERRIBLE customer service. DO NOT RENT AT THIS SCAM PLACE!!! Our experience was identical to the other posters. We arrived at LAX yesterday, having prepaid our rental thru Argus rental car. When we got to USave /Green rental after 2 shuttles we waited for a very long time - they are so inefficient. Finally it was our turn and they hit us with the huge, mandatory “INTERNATIONAL” insurance. It was more than triple the price of actual car rental. We I said I needed a few minutes to read everything over and check out other options, the woman behind the counter became irate and accused ME of abusing HER!! then she used the old “we only have 2 more cars left” line on me. I said I simply wanted to try and figure out my options and absorb this crazy new $700 USD insurance charge and she continued to berate me and my husband and say that there wouldn’t be any cars left if we didn’t take the car right away. I said we had reserved and prepaid the car already so I didn’t understand how it was possible they could just “run out” of cars - and there was a whole line up of renters behind me as well. Of course, none of the other employees raised an eyebrow because they must see this all day long - shocked customers faced with huge unexpected insurance surges, threats of “no cars left” and employees berating customers. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!! DO NOT RENT HERE!! We ended up going a short distance away to another car rental place rather than do business here. I rented another car on the spot from Expedia. The new rental company also charged “international” insurance rates, but they were completely reasonable. I would rather walk away from my prepaid car (I will try and get my $$ back though) rather than deal with LAX USAVE ever again.★★★★★ 2 years ago

This was a terrible experience. It was not cheaper, they bullied you into taking their insurance. If I didn't accept their insurance they could not provide a car. They told me that my travelocity booking had expired because I had put on the booking 10:30 pick up and arrive at noon because of flight delay and no U-Save shuttle at LAX airport. The agent then said, if I left a 5 star google review in front of him, he would extend my travelocity rate. This ended up being more expensive than a major, more convenient carrier.★★★★★ 2 years ago

This is your sign to book somewhere else! You do NOT save here. If you are reading reviews to see if it is worth booking with this establishment - it is not worth it! Book somewhere else. Seriously, from one family just trying to enjoy a trip to another - this place ripped us off big time, was a huge headache, and we wish we could’ve spent the extra money elsewhere. Objectively speaking, you’ll literally pay more here than if you book somewhere else. Also, be prepared to wait a minimum of 1 hour in line only to be charged twice the amount that you booked the vehicle for online. We found U-Save through a third-party site and decided to try it out despite the many negative reviews; this was a big mistake. We booked online and were quoted $278.06 for 8 days. When we arrived in person, they charged us $725!! Huge scam. A few days prior to our reservation, we received an email that informed us that U-Save does not take insurance that is issued outside of America. Being from Canada, we decided to call them to see how much they charge for insurance (which they require you to have and is NOT optional if you rent from them); the woman on the phone informed us that it would cost $20/day. We figured that this was still a reasonable and cost-effective option. However, upon arriving at the location, we had to wait an hour and a half in line only to arrive at the counter to be told by the employee that the insurance alone would be $55/day. He said that the customer service telephone line typically gives out “wonky” info (his words, not mine). The car rental itself was supposed to be $27/day - this means their mandatory insurance was more than twice the amount of the car rental. We read some reviews but decided to take the risk by going through with our reservation - huge mistake. If so many people are willing to take time to leave poor reviews for this company, then odds are the company is pretty bad. Don’t take the chance. You’ll save more at a Hertz, Avis or any other major company. I honestly feel really bad for the employees here because you can tell they’re so fed up with customers who are upset about getting ripped off; I hope they decide to work at another business with some more integrity.★★★★★ 2 years ago

Amazing service from Steven and the other staff. They do require you to have proof of insurance with your declarations page. I was able to pull it up on my app so he was able to quickly review. Car was great and clean.★★★★★ 7 months ago

I had a terrible experience with this rental car company, and I would never recommend it to anyone. From the start, the service was awful. They handed us a car in awful condition – it had significant body damage, a strong weed smell, and was filthy and disgusting inside. Despite the car's poor condition, they pressured us into buying body insurance, even though the car was clearly already damaged. The real frustration started after we returned the car. For 19 days, they kept the money that they charged us extra for a mistake they made on the day of the rental. Despite numerous calls and emails, the manager's response was shocking. He claimed we returned the car 10 minutes late, which was a complete lie. In reality, we returned it 30 minutes early. After weeks of trying to resolve this, the manager finally mentioned a EXTRA MONEY refund, but in fact it was MY HOLD MONEY. In the end, this experience was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Save yourself the headache and avoid this company at all costs!★★★★★ a year ago
