I sent my son to have transfer case and differential serviced. I had had an oil change, at this store, 2 days earlier. Yes, days. They changed the oil and differential, charged for the oil, abd sent him on his way. When I called, I got shuffled around and no help. Absolutely unacceptable. Do not thonk of calling me a Karen when I show up in person to discuss this matter. You stole my money for an unnecessary service and failed to perform the one requested.

I just recently moved to Lynchburg and got my oil changed here. The sweet gal who was the assistant manager was so kind and wanted to make sure I was comfortable while they were performing the service. The two young gentlemen, who were working on my car were absolutely Top-notch as well. Probably the most polite group of young people I have had experience with. Very thorough and professional. Not a great experience. I can only give out five stars or more than two stars if I felt that it was necessary. Unfortunately I left very frustrated. Staff were nice they did their thing, and if I could only rate them I’d give more stars only to them. however, I sat there for almost an hour. I arrived at 12:50 PM. Did not leave until just after 2 PM. This is supposed to be a quick in and out service, and it was everything but that. I’m pretty sure I would’ve been there an hour and a half or closer to two hours if I hadn’t said anything. Also, the price for synthetic oil is $99. At the grocery store It’s no more than $30 Unfortunately, I may not come back after this. This was my first possibly last time at this location or at a Valvoline period.

I went to the Timberlake location on 9/12/2025, got there about 6:30pm, finished about 7:05pm. When I was leaving my a/c in the car was NOT working but was working before I got the oil changed. So I circled back around and told them it wasn't working, they pulled me back into the bay. They looked under the hood and said it was nothing they did to make the a/c stop working. It was almost like they were making it like my a/c wasn't working before I went. I was there about 10mins letting them look under the hood and told them I would be back early Sat morning to speak withh the store manager. So I left, not long after I left the check engine light came on, had never been on in the car since I had it. So I went to some local places and let them put it on the handheld to tell me what was wrong and it came back as code B10E9 blower motor fan. I had never had any issues with this car until 9/12. I was NOT HAPPY with Valvoline at all because what in the world happened? I looked on my receipt and it says: Oil and filter changed, I didn't ask for a filter to be changed, but they told me they didn't change any filters and I didn't pay for any filters. I have two vehicles that I bring here...mine and my daughters car. I've been coming here since it opened and never had any issues. I will probably not return. Attached is a pic that shows the check engine light on after the oil change. And a pic that shoes the code The 3 that worked on my car was: YOUR SERVICE TEAM: CSR: Jonah TOPSIDE: James, Kenneth BOTTOMSIDE: Kenneth They knew I was pissed, b/c they all had this stupid look on their faces! Updated 9/19/2025. I emailed Valvoline Customer Care team the same day I posted this google review. and An investigation was opened. The email reply back states: Thank you for contacting Valvoline Customer Care. We were sorry to hear that your most recent service experience did not meet your expectations. We have escalated this to our management team to investigate. Your claim number is ……….(didn’t want to post claim # here but I do have one). My husband and I took our car to get the oil changed and they didn't have a air filter for our car so they put the old one in they didn't drain the oil from the drain plug they sucked it out. They charged us 90 some dollars and charged us for a different oil filter instead of the stock one says we 82 percent oil life left and we didn't have any oil in the car. I wouldn't recommend going to get anything done to your vehicle here they don't want to take accountability for anything

Exceptionally slow. I waited so long I thought they were swapping engines and transmissions not just changing oil. There were two cars in front of me. The first one took about 45 minutes. The second one half an hour. On the way home I stopped for groceries and saw my picture on the back of a milk carton claiming I was missing.

I truly appreciate the service I got at the Timberlake location. I would like to recognize London, he was my service rep , he went above and beyond to help me today, I had a headlight out and have had the HARDEST time trying to get help with changing it, due the location of the bulb , NO ONE wanted to help me , this gentleman most certainly took the time to look at it and help me fix today while getting my oil changed. I just couldn't be more appreciative and thankful, he has no idea how much he helped me today. He was extremely nice as well as everyone there. Very very professional environment, great job, I will be gladly doing a review and telling my friends an family to use this location. Very impressed, and Blessed today. Thank you

We waiting outside of the bay for about an hour no one ever came out and told us it was going to be longer for the car in front of us and we couldn’t move to another lane because people kept coming in. Once we finally got in they checked all the lights and said my light over the license plate was out and they could replace it for 15$ after taking it apart he realized it was LED and they didn’t have it so he couldn’t but when we left I checked it and it was working just fine. They said I needed 3 new wipers but no one ever actually looked at them. They didn’t have the air filter for my car “because it was too new” but it’s a 2024. So they put the old one back in. But I ended up paying 94$ for them to just to replace the oil. I feel like they tried to take advantage of me. Definitely don’t think I would return.

Kenny, Tristan, and Amar were the team that did the work on our vehicle. They were fast, friendly, efficient, and kept us updated at every step! I always go to this location and have a great experience but this time it was extra special so I felt like I needed to leave a review. I needed a transmission fluid change, oil change and air filter change. Thor and Nico were so nice and helpful. First Thor saw me carrying my work badge and gave me a First responders discount that I didn’t even know Valvoline offered. Nico left the location twice to get things for my car that were out of stock there, first for my air filter and second for the transmission fluid because the one they had was incompatible with my vehicle. She really went above and beyond for me and I greatly appreciated it. The whole team was enthusiastic and explained everything to me. Always a wonderful experience!!

Came in to get an oil change. Thanks to Londons excellent customer service skills as well as his next level knowledge, I was able to get my transmission fluid changed. Seriously consummate professional. They did not have all of the fluid needed and he called around and had it special delivered so that the job could be done. Recommend this place for sure.
