Always a good experience at Garlyn Shelton Temple. We own 2 Volvos and wouldn't take them anywhere else. We tried the Austin Volvo, not GS dealer, and they were horrible. So we switched to GS Temple in 2018 and have gone there ever since. Staff is always so friendly.

This is a great Volvo dealership. Our recent purchase was almost without any effort, and everyone was friendly and helpful. We were greeted by Cody when we arrived at the lot. We already had a vehicle in mind that we interested in purchasing. Cody was very helpful by answering our questions and reviewing the vehicle with us. The trade-in and new purchase agreement went very well with no pressure from the staff. Everyone we delt with at the dealership was respectful and expressed appreciation for our visiting the lot. Prior to this purchase, we were familiar with the service department. In fact, we have several options for Volvo maintenance and repair, but have opted for Garlyn Shelton Volvo at Temple because of the friendliness and good quality work. Already talked to serviceanager about my car..but here goes.. I took my volvo xc90 in 8/12 for repairs..every Friday I called to check in, and had heard from service tech 1 time when estimates came...every week my car got pushed back a week...again service tech never called..I'd call again next friday..finally spoke with service manager who did everything he could to make things right...I'm supposed to get my car tomorrow, 9/8...almost a month later..thankful the service manager stepped up, otherwise this would probably be the last time I'd come here

If you're starting your search for a new car or already know what you want, Johnathan (Salesman) and Bobby (sales manager) are great people to work with. I walked in knowing what I wanted, and they made it happen. From getting the most for my trade-in, getting the car I wanted at the right price, to even fighting with the bank to make sure I got approved with the best rates (real story, I was there). We got our Volvo XC90 here and the experience was smooth. I particularly want to call out Cory who went above and beyond to make sure everything went well. He made sure the car is clean for delivery and kept us in loop on the progress. He clearly explained every single feature of the car before the delivery with patience. Damon - The Finance manage was helpful in presenting all the available options and ensure journey was smooth. One small feedback, when we made an appointment to see the car that we know we are going to purchase, we were expecting everything to be ready by the time we reach there. But it took almost 45 minutes for the car to be pulled out(it was in display in showroom) and make it ready for a test drive. They could have been prepared since we already had an appointment and very clear on what we want from appointment.

My Experience Purchasing a Volvo XC60 from Temple Volvo, TX I recently purchased a Volvo XC60 from Temple Volvo after hearing from a friend that they were selling 2024 models at reasonable prices. I browsed their website and found a car that caught my interest. I reached out immediately and got in touch with Tedd, who assisted me with the initial discussions and price negotiations. Since I live about 2.5 hours away, I asked if they could hold the car until Saturday. Tedd recommended placing a refundable $500 deposit to reserve the vehicle, which I paid right away. Tedd informed me he wouldn’t be available on Saturday and that Michelle would be assisting instead. I arrived on time, excited to see the car. The test drive went well. When I asked again about negotiating the price, the manager stepped in and initially agreed to offer a $1,000 discount. However, after speaking to her superior (whose name she didn’t share), she returned and said that because I had paid the deposit, it meant I had already agreed to the original price, and no further discounts would be given. I let them know I was never told this condition, to which she said she would review the call recordings. Eventually, she said they would “see at the end” if any discount could still be offered. After that, I had to wait nearly two hours to meet with the finance person, as they apparently have only one handling both Volvo and VW. In the meantime, they collected two signatures from me for credit checks and down payment approval, without showing me any actual numbers. The manager then left for the day. When we finally met the finance representative, he began discussing warranties before even going over the APR or final pricing. We told him we hadn’t been informed of any APR details yet. He spent 15–20 minutes figuring out the numbers and seemed confused, presenting inconsistent figures. His focus was heavily on selling extended warranties. Interestingly, once everything was entered into the system, the APR dropped unexpectedly. He was surprised and said, "We must've applied some offer," without explaining what it was. The whole process felt rushed and unorganized. After completing the paperwork, the car was sent for cleaning. I asked Michelle if I could at least get a Volvo keychain, since it’s my first and dream car. She said no one was available in servicing at the moment but promised to mail it to me later. When we got home, several issues came to light: Apple CarPlay was not working. The car software was outdated (version 2.14 instead of the expected 3.4). Occasionally, the navigation maps go blank. The vehicle is still listed for sale on their website with the same VIN. A VINGURU check shows two prior sales, even though this was supposed to be a new vehicle. When I asked Michelle for a Carfax report, she said one doesn’t exist since the car is new — which contradicts the VIN report. I haven’t received any loan information or instructions for making EMI payments. Registration details are still pending. I’ve tried calling the dealership multiple times over the past two weeks with no response. Based on this experience, I strongly advise others to avoid Temple Volvo in Texas. The customer service was disappointing, and the lack of transparency and follow-up after the sale has been incredibly frustrating.

My application was not approved because they only submitted it to Volvo and Wells Fargo. Since my credit is average, the approval did not go through. If you do not have excellent credit and a large down payment ($8,998), this may not be the best place to apply, as it could be a waste of time.

Used to be amazing, now they're just typical trash. I was amazed how great the service was here when I brought my cars several years ago. It's deteriorated so much. The helpful staff is gone, they don't work with Volvo corporate to help or fix problems. The manager reached out to me to address my concerns and tried to help me out. I appreciate that effort, and hopefully when I return it'll be improved.

But all jokes aside my car has had some weird & unexpected issues some of which did occur at the dealership but Simon and Drew the service advisers have gone WAY above and beyond to solve those issues.

I drove through every dealership in Temple today on a mission to find a great truck at a great deal ( and the most for my trade), and I found the right one! I got offers from 4 different dealerships this morning in Temple/Belton and the offer I received here was right on the money! It was right on point with the others, only driving home that it was Fair offer. I had my mind set on a GMC Sierra. The sales person, Drew, as well as the Sales manger met me outside to see what my needs were. After a brief discussion they grabbed my license and insurance and we were off test driving multiple trucks in a record breaking time. Once the truck was found we hashed out the numbers. They price matched their truck to several that I was on my way to go look at and again gave me a very Fair deal, as they did with my trade. I had a very nice day hanging out with Drew ( ask for him specifically, you won't regret it!), even bought him lunch seeing as he had worked through it to get this deal done. So, thank you Drew, Andy and Damian for making this a great day, and helping me get into a great truck! So glad I didn't have to drive to Austin to save. Lol Also will mention, this is the second time I've had a great experience with Andy, the sales manager, when he was over at Garlyn Shelton GMC, he's helped get me into 2 cars in 3 years! ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 10/10

I have been coming to this Volvo Service Center for over two years since I moved to Texas. I own a 2019 Volvo S 60. My experience has always been great at this service center – they never try to upsell me with any services, always work with my concerns in a timely manner and go above and beyond whenever needed. Was super patient and kind guiding me through the experience. The finance manager was also a nice guy who was very very patient and helped me through the process as a 19 y/o girl buying on her own!! I don’t feel taken advantage of, and I feel like they really did get me a great deal. Good customer service and not too long of wait times either.
