I went to westcoast autobody, they cut many corners and used cheap everything. Not only that after a full body paint job, my car back logo identifier, fell off on both sides. That is why west coast service receives a one star rating.

My car had started stalling abruptly the other day while traveling to San Francisco. I was distraught. I called around Vallejo looking for a mechanic and after being hung up on and repeatedly told there wasn't time for me that day several times I found the one and only WEST COAST AUTO REPAIR! I talked to who I am guessing is the owner and heard the words I had been hoping to hear " yes, I can help you. Come on in." I was elated. Once I arrived (after a terrifying stop and go trip of one mile, hazzards flashing and hands shaking) I was greeted with a welcoming smile and the compassion I so desperately needed in that moment. The mechanic (I wish I could remember his name! Tall, dark and handsome man who seemed to be running things) went over with me what the problem was, gave me the price (less than expected) and my poor car was back to normal in less than the 2 hours he quoted me at. West coast auto repair is an honest shop with hard workers who have excellent customer service skills. If you're in need of an amazing Auto repair shop please check these guys out. They really came through for me and I know they'll do the same for you.

Don't ignore this warning as I did because he's available and gives you a decent initial price!!! Do yourself a favor and go pay a little more for much better service, wait days if you have to!!! This guy has NO integrity. Will fit you into schedule if you're paying, however, once you pay, good luck having him make time to inspect and finish the job correctly. This is long, but I'm hoping no one else will have to deal with this shop. I paid $460 for brakes, plus an additional $20 because I used a card. Although i was quoted $340 when I dropped the car off. Since the work has been done, I continue to smell burning. I took it elsewhere after all the issues from this shop and discovered the brakes are leaking. I also needed repairs for my catalytic and egr valve. He quoted me 180 for each. Upon returning, he tried to charge me $300 to install my converter. I began to walk away because it was a different price. He then changed his tune and said he would give me the price he quoted a few days before of $180. Because of this I did not mention the other repair of my egr. I wanted to see how he would replace my converter first since he began losing my trust with price changes. I also informed him I would need the car back for work that night and he told me it would be done. I began calling the shop 2 hrs before closing and no answer. Took an Uber to the shop and it was closed up. The next afternoon the catalytic converter was installed. He also called me saying 1 of the sensors had frozen so he charged me another $170. Surprise surprise. Despite this, I decided to go ahead with the egr and was told it would be 300. I made him aware of his previous quote and he stated it would also be 300 for a new one. I wasn't surprised by his sudden price change but I decided to get it done only because he informed me it would be a new part vs only trying to clean it. With me needing to pass smog with a temporary moving pass I decided to just get it over with and pay him with the hope that at least the work will be worth it. Upon picking up my car. It was loud. I thought it was a little normal due to the new converter. I then began to smell really strong exhaust and began to experience dizziness and headaches. After 2 days I returned the car and explained to him the loud noise and smell. He stated because it has no impact on driving and won't get worse, he couldn't work or look at the car for several days. It was Monday and he couldn't work on it until Friday. I work as a delivery driver and this was unacceptable. I had to stop several times because I didn't feel well due to smelling exhaust fumes. The car began to sound extremely loud at this point. Getting worse. I could not wait 4 days before he could look at my car. The next day I went elsewhere to have a mechanic inspect my car. He found the brake leaking. He found several installed parts loose when replacing the cat, as I watched the new mechanic show me how loose everything was as he tighten with complete ease. The new mechanic was puzzled as he didn't understand how left the car this way. After going through all the work that was done inspecting everything, hr discovered the new gasket that was put on looked completely worn and was ripped. I bought the new part and the car is now quiet and runs well. Too bad it cost me an additional 300 in diagnostic and repair to pay the new shop. West coast may offer decent pricing at times. Please take the advice from another brake shop that had warned me against going to him in the first place, that he will change pricing. After my experience here, there seems to be many issues people should worry about. This is by far the worst experience I've ever had from any type of service.
