Some people there are not honest people . I've acquired other additional problems to vehicle after they worked on the transmission/ transfer case. Now more money comes from out of my pocket bc they don't replace the things they break. They tell you "it came in like that" .... Not honest people!! they don't show you the part that "supposed need to be replaced" they throw it away without the customer knowing anything... When you ask "they no longer have it.".... Sounds creditable??

My cars tranmission went out on me and someone recommended Western Transmission. Cory was incredibly clear, helpful, and friendly. I would 100% come here again.

Corey was extremely nice and knowledgeable. Though I ended up not having a transmission issue and didn’t have to use Western Transmission, if the customer service over the phone is any indication of what you get when you get work done by them, they deserve more than 5 stars. Thanks for being so kind, unfortunately, it isn’t a common thing to experience.

Best Transmission shop in our area. They just replaced my Subaru transmission for exactly what they estimated and it’s like having a new car

Brought our vehicle in because of a noise coming from the transmission. They checked it out and recommended a service, but that the transmission was fine. A few days after the service was done, the vehicle died on the side of the highway. Come to find out the transmission hoses came undone because the clamps were not reconnected properly and most the transmission fluid was lost. We towed it back to them. They ended up doing another service without even contacting us about the vehicle. They didn’t realize they had just done the service the week prior. After picking it back up again, it last a few days before it stopped shifting. We have attempted to contact them multiple times, left multiple voice mails, and have yet to hear back from them. We went in and were told the transmission was fine, that we should be able to get a lot more life out of it, and now the transmission is shot. They came highly recommended, but I’m definitely hesitant.

Corey and the guys were great! I really appreciated the constant communication every step of the way as they worked on my truck and they explained options for fixes extremely well. They were also within dollars of the initial quote. Thanks guys for treating me like family and not just another customer.

This is a well run, highly qualified shop. They helped us when we were moving and the truck transmission acted up. The charge was incredibly reasonable and the issue was under warrantee from another Idaho shop. They worked this magic out and have never let us down on check-ups since! Very happy customers, Dean Reynolds and Family ❤️

Our transmission in our 2013 Chev Suburban started exhibiting some odd behavior. Clunky shifts between 1-3. Noise that sounded like a power steering pump, but when shifting... I did some research that lead me to believe it was the torque converter failing and I called a couple transmission shops that confirmed the symptoms matched a failing torque converter. Unfortunately my wife and daughter had a multi-state road trip planned the week after it started exhibiting symptoms. (I'm just thankful they didn't head out only to have the transmission fail on the road.) One shop couldn't see me to diagnose the issue for a week. The other shop, Western Transmission, not only diagnosed it, they replaced the transmission in two working days enabling my wife and daughter to get on the road for their road trip. (I'm sure two day repairs aren't always the case, but they had my transmission in stock, ready to install.) Corey, Shelly, and Brandon were great, communicative, and really made an effort to get us on the road as fast as possible. No one ever likes to drop an unplanned $6k on a transmission, but when you have to it's great to be treated like a valued customer.

Not impressed with this company at all. Paid thousands of dollars for them to fix our transmission and didn't even make it 200 miles and the transmission is already done for they claim the warranty is now voided and going to cost a couple more thousand to fix what they claim is the problem now!! Glad I could pay for a new transmission and not able to drive the truck out thousands of dollars because of this company.

Our transmission fluid temp light, turned on several times on a hot long drive, called western transmission and asked if they could take a look at our 2014 Subaru Outback. They immediately put it up on a rack checked our transmission, gave us some tips for driving in heat and had us back on the road in 20 minutes. No charge. Thank you for your time and service.

These guys are the best! They figured out my issue within a couple hours. I was coming from 2 hours out of town so they cranked it out in one day so I wouldn’t have to get a hotel room. Cost to fix seemed fair. Everyone was very nice and the communication along the way was great. My rig is running great!

We broke down 90 miles out of Idaho Falls on our way to our family vacation. We were towed to Western Transmission as we leaked transmission oil and our car would no longer run. Our body shop had done a transmission flush and did not tighten the lines. Western Transmission got us in the very same day and had us back on the road in hours headed to our vacation. They were knowledgeable and so kind and compassionate of our situation. They explained what happened and input this information on our invoice so that I would receive a full refund from our body shop for their error. I will never forget the kindness of this team and would highly recommend them to anyone in Idaho! Top notch service and people! Thank you!

My trucks cooler line popped off and I brought it here to get the line fully replaced and topped off on ATF, and of course the trans needed inspection after running without ATF. Now here’s where the problems start. First, they cross threaded the lines onto the trans cooler, so that became a leak. 2nd, they were about a half gallon short on ATF, like they didn’t even check the damn dipstick. Usually you bring your truck to a shop to make it drive better than it did before, and if that’s what you’re looking for then this is not the place to go. And for reference, for the ATF, transmission inspection, and new cooler lines it was about $600. Not too bad of a price, except I have to replace the lines AND the cooler now to stop the leak, on top of the $40 it cost me to buy a gallon of ATF after find out out just one quart wasn’t enough. Yeah sure they got the job done pretty fast, and the bill was lower than I expected, so 3 stars seems fair to me. And no, this vehicle had not been maintained by anyone besides these guys and myself, and I wouldn’t dare mess with a transmission (or cooler lines) myself. And before you think “hey dumbass your atf was low because of the leak”, no, I checked it as soon as I got it home 5 minutes away, and this was a VERY slow leak, I mean one drop after sitting all night, and the atf didn’t even show on the stick. I drove it low for a while with a temp gauge installed since it didn’t have any major issues, and rigged the leak with teflon tape til I can be in town long enough to get it fixed.

Great honest work, these guys are smart and honest! Flushed my transmission cooler, then helped me make sure the truck was running right with the new trans.
