Fantastic family owned shop! Our Jeep's head gasket went out, and we took it immediately to Whitcomb's. Superb service and very professional guys are what you'll find here. Update: We moved out of the area for 2 years and could not find someone we trusted as much with our cars. Thankfully we relocated back last summer. After not going there there two years, Adam remembered us! Usually a conversation about being glad to be back from where we lived for two years takes place. He also knows each of our cars well and always is honest with work that needs to be done vs work that can wait. Also the prices are also very reasonable with top notch work! We have been taking our cars and trucks to them since we moved to Wisconsin in 2014. Always honest and upfront with all issues.

I went to a major dealership and had a cabin air filter installed, my blower suddenly stopped working so I brought it back to them and they assured me this was just a coincidence and I needed a new blower motor for $300, I wanted a 2nd opinion so I went to Whitcomb on my way home. In less than 5 minutes Adam found the issue. The dealership had installed that filter incorrectly and blocked the fan from spinning. He fixed it and had me on my way. Don't waste your money at the big dealerships, go to this local small business where Adam and the Whitcomb family will treat you with respect and honesty. I'll be recommending them to all my friends and family.

I took the Wife GMC Terrain with the dreaded Rear Main Seal blowout these 2.4 Ecotec Engines are prone to. I was worried that the engine might had sustained major damage due to being driven with low oil. They could have told me that the entire engine needed to be replaced, and I would have had them do it. But they didn't! They fully inspected the engine and determined it was fine. They had that RMS replaced in a jiff, and at an honest price! I highly recommend this shop!

On 2/28/25 I had to suddenly pull off the road due to a loud sound coming from under my vehicle. Ironically it was right in front of Whitcomb Automotive. I pulled in asking if they had time to look under the vehicle (I had a feeling it was a shroud from a recent oil change elsewhere) and sure enough! That other place skipped putting (6!) clips back in to hold the shroud in place. Adam had a full schedule but he still took the time to get my vehicle onto the rack and put (6!) clips in for me. I'll be seeing Adam for our next oil change for sure!

I brought my 2015 Ford Explorer there because the vents would not switch. The technician Adam was quick to figure out the problem. He was very smart and had it fixed quickly. When I went to pick up the vehicle, he said, "I was annoyed by the sound the seat was making, I noticed it was loose so i tightened that and fixed it for free." He also noticed a clunk while turning caused by a loose bolt under the vehicle and fixed that too for me for free. I was so impressed. My girlfriend had been so annoyed listening to that seat squeak as we drove, and Adam was correct, the sound is now gone. This little extra bit of service impressed me so much, that I will not bring my car to anyone else anymore. Adam is my guy now. I would recommend this place to anybody!

While traveling we heard a weird noise come from the back left area of our car. We thought it could be a rusted suspension mount or trailing arm bracket. Adam did a quick inspection of possible scenarios and sent us on our way after confirming we fine to continue on. He refused payment from us and stated he was just happy to help out. Strongly recommend going to Whitcomb Automotive if you’re in the area. Adam will take good care of you.

Thought I had a serious issue with my car. Called Whitcomb automotive and spoke to Adam. Adam had no problem with us bringing in the car so he could look at it for us. We had a 4 hour drive back to Illinois and concerned we wouldn’t make it back home. After thoroughly checking out our car, he didn’t find any issue with it which was a big relief to us. Adam and his wife Jessica are incredibly nice, reliable and honest! We will only go to them for our cars! When Costco said the bottom of the car is too rusted so they couldn’t rotate tires but they replaced a new tire a year ago, you know supporting your local business is the way to go!!!
