The perfect place to take your car if you want to pay $570 to replace a single glow plug. Three stars because they did a thorough and accurate inspection and called me back promptly. Unless you are a high rolling whale who hands over your credit card when you leave your keys I would look elsewhere. My response is an edit because google wont let you respond to a reply: There was no miscommunication. After paying $200 for a basic inspection, DTC check and straightforward diagnosis you quoted another $370 for a $100 part and 10 minutes of work. That is $570 out the door on a very limited amount of C level technician work.

I've been a customer of Whitedog for over a decade. They have always served me well. I've always found their service excellent, and the mechanics work top of the line. At one point I was having repeated issues with my van and it had actually stumped another mechanic, they did some research and figured out what was causing the recurrent issue. The dealership wanted to just replace all the spark plugs, which would not have fixed the underlying problem. They've definitely gone out of their way for me to make my day better, and to fix my car when I really needed it. This is a top tier business run by skilled, friendly people who are very honest. I can't write a better recommendation for them.

Whitedog was awesome! The towing company recommended them and I'm glad I took their advice. They fixed my car right away for a great price and even took care of another issue for $500 less than the dealership quoted me. Everything was done by the next day. Always polite, professional, and responsive. Great front desk, good mechanics, and never push a sale—never! Everyone I talk to says that their services are pricey compared to their competitors, but you also get what you pay for in life and inflation is real while our wages are stagnant. So, the price has been worth it. My car is 10 years old and I’ve been seeing WhiteDog for 5+. Clean facilities and pleasant waiting area.

Thank you for quick honest service on our 2006 Saab 9-5 Sportcombi (A car that tows 3,500lb ;) ). I have been convinced after a few service trips to Whitedog over the past couple of years that they are Honest and High-Quality. When I was new in town, I had to find a new mechanic. At first they were great, then one time I feel that there was a miscommunication and felt I was being charged for something that served no purpose since we didn't mention it at all. While the dollar amount wasn't even that high, I hold principles like that high on my morality list. After that experience, I have chalked it up to a simple miscommunication as they did everything they could to provide us with great, ethical, high quality repair services and made that situation right. They continue to be great and good at their jobs every time. Thank you for being knowledgeable about Import Automobiles, you have earned my business for as long as I live in this area for many more years.

I have used White Dog for several years to maintain my vintage BMW M3. They do a great job. I had a difficult airbag issue which took a couple of visits to diagnose and cure but it was on time and for the quoted price. Everything went well and they kept me informed. Every time I leave a crummy review somewhere, I like to leave a nice one too, and this time I was like: who've I missed giving a great review to? White Dog! They've been looking after my cars for 25 years now, first with Evan in charge, then with Kevin, and I trust everything they say. In fact ten years ago I was looking at a car on the sales side, I mentioned it to Evan, and he asked me how much; I told him, and his eyebrows went up and he said, "That's a lot of car for $____," and that sealed the deal for me. He was right, I'm still driving it today and it's been a great car. How do I put this...they hire serious people, train them for real, pay them like professionals, and it all shows. It means that if the car needs work, they'll do the work and charge fairly for it, and if the car is okay without it, they'll tell you you can if you want, but they'll be really clear that you don't need this to keep the car running safely. They'll explain as much as you want explained, and they stand behind their work. If you're in a bind, they'll try to fit you in asap, but they're not going to short other people to do it. And whatever year your Volvo's from, they probably know it inside and out. Basically, the waiting area's always kept nice, the welcome is always personable, the service is always fair and high quality. Which is really something over a quarter of a century. Here's to another 25 years.

I trust them with my 1978 MGB. So far they have done the diagnostic workup when I first bought my car at the end of last year. They identified 3 primary problems: tires, front brakes, and new radiator. I've addressed the first two and they got my heater working so I don't freeze in the Iowa winter. ( in the winter the car doesn't leave the garage except to go to get the suggested repairs) they are not inexpensive, but the report the mechanic puts together regarding what was done is outstanding. So you do pay for exceptional service and for me, this is a toy I want to work and enjoy and I don't have the technical skills to do the work, I do enjoy the YouTube videos about what is being done.

I started going to White Dog decades ago, and have taken 3-4 cars there over the years. Always professional, always quality work, and I have never once had to worry about the “scam the girl” thing I often get other places. When I bought my last car (new), I had to take it the dealership during the years of extended warranty (because service anywhere else would void the warranty). So I just recently returned to White Dog, and it is just as great and trustworthy and reasonable as ever. In fact, I had called the dealership to see about a final 30k service with them, and the price they quoted me was THREE TIMES what White Dog quoted for the exact same service; furthermore, I can actually trust their “keep an eye on X and Y, should be replaced when they reach this level” recommendations. The staff are personable, the work is great—happy to be back!

So I own a Mini Cooper. I moved from Illinois and my dealership was 45 minutes away. Here in Iowa I’m an hour and a half out of Des Moines. That would be quite the trip. White Dog was highly recommended as a resource for our Volkswagen. The online scheduling was user friendly. I worked with Jessica as a service manager. Jessica was kind courteous and patient. I called back several times in one day and Jessica provided the same kindness, courtesy and patience every time. She was very knowledgeable and explained everything in easy to understand terms. I also spoke with a technician (Alec) that was kind, courteous and patient as well.
