Wilhelm Automotive is amazing and more important than ever in our world now, they are trustworthy!!! They expertly diagnosed the issue with my BMW 430i and provided a great repair at a very fair price. They also were honest and told me there was no reason to perform the $5,000 of repairs that BMW of North Scottsdale wanted to charge me!! You can TRUST Wilhelm and they are the best people to work with!!

Was not happy at all. Took my car in for a oil change at 8:45 am. Was told it wold be about two hours. I was ok with that. 4 hours later I had my son take me up there too see what was taking them so long. Still had to wait another 15 minutes. All I asked for was a oil change, not a inspection of my car and telling me what I need done to my car. This is not the first time I have had issues with Wilhelm. But will be my last.

I went in for an oil change without an appointment, and they welcomed me right away. Within an hour, everything was done. Their prices are very reasonable, and the service is excellent—professional, efficient, and kind. From now on, I won’t go anywhere else!

Will was very polite and prompt in our dealings. I needed my transmission looked at and they did an inspection and gave 2 options on repairing my issue. I will be back in the future.

I brought my car in because of a rattle in the front end. Not only did they not find the problem, they handed me a list worth $5,332 in repairs, and charged me $200 for diagnostics for not even finding the problem. I will not be going back. Take your business somewhere else.

CROOKS!!!! I brought my F-150 to Wilhelm Automotive due to a whining noise at 45mph+. I told them I suspected rear axle bearings but asked for a proper diagnosis. They confirmed it was the rear bearings and quoted around $1,000 for the fix. Later, I was contacted again and told the technician wanted to charge more hours to “look for more items” needing repair. I asked to move forward with the bearing replacement and only if something legitimate was found to let me know. Conveniently, after that extra time request, they claimed I needed a full rear differential rebuild—nearly $3,000 total. I questioned the diagnosis since my truck only has 54k miles, has been babied since new, never tows, and has never been off-road. They insisted it was necessary. They said the brakes were metal to metal, which I found to be odd but I declined the rotor replacements because I already had a new set at home. When I picked up the truck, I was told the tech already did a test drive and everything was fixed and the noise was gone. The removed parts they showed me didn’t even look damaged but it is what it is. I paid and left—only to find the loud noise was still there. I immediately returned, did a test-drive with the manager, and he identified the noise as coming from the front driver-side hub. That part cost under $200 and takes less than 2 hours to replace. They covered the the cost of the hub replacement, but when I asked for compensation for the incorrect diagnosis and unnecessary repairs, I was immediately met with “it was not a misdiagnosis.” After getting home, I replaced the rotors myself and confirmed they were perfectly fine—another suggested repair that was completely unnecessary. I also spoke to the district manager, Craig, who told me he inspected the parts removed from my truck. In his own words, he said it would be impossible to know how long I could have driven before having issues with the differential, but that the parts they replaced “resolved the loud noise the truck was making from the back.” Anytime I expressed a concern or asked a question, he was very dismissive and quick to be deflecting the issue at hand, denying every concern I have. I get that we have a difference in opinion, but his opinion is that my truck was about to blow up. I also stated my concern that the parts installed on the truck were not Ford OEM parts. His IMMEDIATE response was "Ford doesn't make parts, they put their name on parts." The fact is, the $3000 in work they did had no affect on the the noise I took it in for. The truck made the exact same loud noise immediately after the differential "repair", proving the original incorrect diagnosis and the costly differential rebuild was not causing the noise I took it in for and was not needed. Even if ended up being a problem in the future - maybe 10,000 miles or maybe 100,000 miles, it was not what I took the truck in for. I doubt there was any diagnostic time and I wonder if there was even a test drive. This shop took thousands of dollars from me for repairs that did NOT fix the issue, misdiagnosed the problem, and then denied any mis-doing or responsibility. They wouldn't even listen to my concerns without replying with complete denial. Based on my experience, Wilhelm Automotive seems more interested in billing for unnecessary work than actually solving problems. I cannot recommend them to anyone. Save your money and go somewhere honest. A reputable shop should stand behind its work, take accountability when mistakes are made, and value its customers’ trust. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.

This is now the second or third time I've taken my car into Wilhelm. First time my car was overheating. Since I have an Audi I think the part needed to get ordered and they replaced the fan replacement was more involved than initially thought. But they did an amazing job. Second time was for an oil change and I think another minor repair. Third time was today. I went somewhere else for an oil change and in the process a hose got knocked loose causing my car to sputter they were able to identify the problem and fix it within 2 hours of me dropping it off with no appointment. They're honest. I told them from now on I'm only going to their shop after having other negative experiences at other auto shops. It's already hard to find a shop you like as a car owner let alone a female I really appreciate their honesty and I trust what they tell me. Telling all of my clients and all of my family and friends to take their cars to Wilhem.

I had a great experience at Wilhelm. My car had an exhaust leak over Thanksgiving week (horrible timing). To top it off this is the car I drive 3 kids to school in and pick them up from school in. Will worked with me to complete the diagnostic test, order parts, and complete the repairs with as little disruption as possible. They were flexible with dropping off and picking up the car and were able to quickly make the repairs over a holiday weekend.

This location has earned my families trust after not being told ways to save on repairs at other places in the past. Most recently I was there for an oil change and check engine light. They were so thoughtful in brainstorming and troubleshooting with me.

An update to my review of 1/15/26 seen below. Today, 1/16/26, I got a call from Wilhelm Auto repair regarding my experience. They explained that the fee was erroneously calculated based on the total work order (including the warranty work). They have assured me that steps will be taken to remedy this and train the employees/system. I consider this matter satisfactorily resolved and thank Wilhelm Auto for their prompt response. On 1/15/26 I took my car for a repair that was under warranty to Whilhelm Auto Repair on Cave Creek rd and Tatum blvd. Job done no problem. I also authorized wheel alignment ($199.99) and engine air filter ($84.99) for a total of $284.98 plus tax. Total bill was $392.74 that included a shop supplies fee of $91.68 that was not disclosed up front. That is a fee of 32.17 % on $284.98 bill. OUTRAGEOUS!! not only because it is excessive but also because it was not disclosed up front. As to why it was not disclosed up front I was told that if they did I may not do the work there ( deceptive practice). As to the excessive fee I was told that all shops/dealerships charge such fee. That is true. But not 32.17%. I showed them a written quote from the dealership who was charging me a shop supplies fee of 1.5% (that’s more appropriate) I will be taking my business somewhere else

I took my car here after replacing some suspension arm components. After the first alignment, the car drove straight, but I was not given an alignment measurement sheet to review the specs. I was told they needed to perform a second alignment in order to print the spec sheet. After the second alignment, the steering wheel was off-center, likely because the technician did not test drive the car to ensure it was straight. I brought the car back a third time and left it there specifically to have the steering wheel centered. After the third alignment, the car drove straight and I finally received the alignment measurement sheet, so I was satisfied at that point. However, when I got home, I heard a loud scraping noise while pulling into my driveway. I then discovered vice grips left attached to both inner tie rods and noticed a small chunk missing from my curb.

I did a full front end rebuild on my 1999 Ranger at home . I took the truck in for 2 new tires and an alignment. Will at the desk helped me out and made it possible for me to get the truck dialed in and complete my repairs .he also advised me on what to look for going forward . Price was very fair. They did great on my old truck. And they had many new cars and trucks in the bay as well. They know what they're doing and they don't want to rob you like ALOT of other shops.

Dealing with Jose at the Cave Creek store was a pleasure. He provided great customer service and was very knowledgeable. Jose clearly explained what was needed, the available options, and offered fair prices with a reasonable turnaround time. I’d definitely recommend Wilhelm.
