I recently replaced the struts on my wife’s car and brought it here for an alignment. The after-hours drop-off made it really convenient, and my service advisor, William, was excellent to work with. From the first phone call, they were friendly, helpful and patient with my questions. They got the car in quickly, finished the alignment in a timely manner, and kept me updated throughout the process. Communication was excellent, and the price was very fair compared to other shops. Their follow up on the work was greatly appreciated as well. Overall, a great experience—I’ll definitely be back and would recommend them to anyone needing quality, trustworthy service.

I’ve taken my M2 here as well as my GT350, I have nothing but trust for these guys. They deliver a high level of customer service and accommodation with faster than expected quality work and fair prices. They also provide an inspection report with suggested service without a pushy sales pitch. I personally appreciate having a roadmap for maintenance so I love this. Always a great experience.

If I could give them 6 stars I would! Some of the best customer service I’ve encountered. They (John especially) went above & beyond to make sure they could find the best price for the part that was needed & kept me in the loop every step of the way. Absolutely amazing all around 🤩

These people have fixed my car, been professional and more than polite, and told me about my BMW in terms that I can understand. I love this place! I went today to get a free break inspection and they were so professional and put my mind at ease about many other things! Thank you so much folks!

I am so glad they have started their business here. We live nearby and both my cars have been well taken care by John’s team. I don’t have to drive to a dealership and wait, as they even have taken care of me being dropped off as I was on a tight work schedule and get my car serviced. I get my oil change done regularly on both my cars. The service is quick and they respond back with all the details.

Issues with Accurate Estimates - Get things in Writing This is my second time taking my vehicle to Wright. Not sure whether or not I will be going back a third time. Staff is nice enough, aren't high pressure and have kept to the timetables for services (which have been delivered as promised) BUT both times I have gone to Wright the cost of the service has been higher than what was quoted in an estimate before I brought my vehicle to the shop. To their credit, they honored the initially quoted price for the first service I had do there a few months back, but this time when I dropped my car off for a battery swap I was told that the cost of the parts and service would be about 50% more than what was initially quoted and that the price delta between the house Interstate battery (and the Optima battery I would have preferred installing) was only a difference of about $80 as opposed to the $300 price difference they had initially quoted me. It also happened to be higher than some of the other European specialist garages in the area after the initial estimate was lower. When I asked the staff about the price difference they said that they quoted be the wrong battery for my vehicle when I called for a price estimate (note that the car had been brought in before so they had a record of it in their system and I hoped their service specialist would have been able to quote the parts accurately as a result) and that estimates provided over the phone are "subject to change." I get that may be the case for more complicated jobs where there are a lot of unknowns, but this was a pretty straightforward job so not sure why I should have expected that to be in issue in this case. If I go back for service in the for future I will be requesting all estimates are provided in writing so I have a copy of the estimate both to have a written reference for writing and to confirm that all parts quoted are the correct ones so I am not faced with such surprises in the future and forced to choose between rescheduling, finding another garage or paying the higher price. I advise anyone else considering getting service done here does the same thing as well.

I just had a new front diff and drive train service on my Porsche. SA Sloan and GM Reese were very courteous. They went above my expectations when an addition issue arose and it was repaired without charge. I have complete confidence in this shop and all it's employees.

My 981 Boxster was recently in need of a seal replacement on its convertible top. John and his team were great to work with, assessing the situation, identifying the parts needed, and being fully transparent with regards to timing and cost throughout the process. Wright Auto Works produced a high quality outcome with great communication, the level of service provided was greatly appreciated and I am confident in recommending them to anyone in need of service on their vehicle.

Best automotive shop in Mount Pleasant/Charleston for your foreign car! John had me scheduled quickly and was very knowledgeable as well as kind over the phone. The shop is clean and easily accessible from the main road. And the team made my experience one that will have me returning for all of my cars auto care. Highly recommend

Good day all, I recently suspected a soon to fail drivers side front wheel bearing on my trusted high mileage 2012 Ford Fusion. Not having a lot of time to be without my car and not wanting to roll the dice on a dealership, I looked up reviews, locations and chose to give Wrights a try. I dropped the car off on a Tuesday for a diagnostic and pricing effort. I had been closely watching the bearings, ( checking for wear, any play) on oil changes with the last being done less than a month ago. Wrights also found no play in the bearing so we agreed to a deeper diagnostic to nail down the issue. This investigation found the bearing tight but noisy indicating a growing issue. The comprehensive diagnostic confirmed and found some other issues on the car for my to do list so in the end it was useful and worth the investment. We agreed to performing the work with OEM parts for the best outcome. Overall, Wrights did a fine job, priced the job very well as it is a fairly invasive job to do both front end bearings. Additionally, honoring my need to get my wheels back quickly, they had it done Friday afternoon. Decent turn around for this level of work. From a customer service standpoint, the owner and other folks there were friendly and helpful throughout the evolution. I would have no issue going back to Wrights as my experience was a good one. Happy motoring everyone.

I can’t recommend Wright Auto Works on Daniel Island highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was professional, honest, and refreshingly stress-free. The team took the time to clearly explain what was needed (and what wasn’t), which immediately built trust—something that’s hard to find with auto repair. The work was done efficiently, pricing was fair and transparent, and the quality of service was outstanding. You can tell they take real pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers, not just getting cars in and out the door.

Work was carried out in a timely and professional manner. The engine in my car is known to be particularly sensitive to quality oil and filters, and both used were the best available. A thorough inspection and photographic details of the car’s brake and tire condition was included, with specific measurements as to the remaining life of these items. Due to a minor tread wear pattern, a recommendation to rotate tires at the next oil change was noted, although no action was necessary at this time. A thorough inspection done the right way. Highly recommended!

I recently visited Wright Auto Works on Daniel Island for the first time, and my experience was pleasant. From the start, their communication was clear and transparent. They walked me through every detail of their inspection with photos, explained the findings, and provided a very structured quotation for the recommended services. There was no pressure at all. They outlined what was optional and what was truly a priority particularly the items that could pose safety risks and left the decisions entirely to me. Everything was printed out and emailed, which made it easy to review. They clearly know European cars well, and it shows in the way they diagnose and explain issues. Their pricing was also noticeably more reasonable compared to the dealership. Although this is my first time using them, the professionalism, honesty, and transparency really earned my respect. I have a great feeling about their overall quality and will definitely return. Highly recommended. And they won the 2025 best car repair shop in Charleston.

Trust these guys with your car! I had an excellent experience at Wright Auto Works. They did a fantastic job sorting out the transmission and electrical issues on my 330i. The communication was clear throughout the entire process, and the customer service was top-notch. I was also impressed by their pricing—very reasonable for the quality of work, including a great deal on a new set of tires. Fast turnaround and highly recommended! Thanks for the car detailing at the end too!

I have a 2017 Porsche Macan S that has an oil leak which is what this whole review is about. Another shop had told me about the leak before and mentioned that it probably came from the valve covers. Per the other shop’s information, I and buddy, who is a certified mechanic, replaced the valve cover gaskets ourselves. In doing so, one of the valve cover bolts broke, and we left a bolt spot open at the front of the engine to give easy access to replace when a new bolt came in. Well, after replacing the gaskets the leak continued, but it was a very slow leak as I drove the car all the way to the next oil change, which is when I decided to give Wright Auto Works a try per a recommendation. They noted the leak at the oil change 9/11/2025 I did with them and mentioned many lower parts of the engine were caked in oil. I figured some of the caked-on oil was from before I changed the valve cover gaskets (note: when I replaced the valve cover gaskets, we didn’t clean down the engine after as we believed we fixed the issue). They offered to clean the engine bay and do an oil leak test, to which I declined. At that time, I figured it was old caked on oil from before we fixed the leak, I picked up my vehicle after the oil change and drove it for about 1500-2000 miles. In that time the oil leak seemed worse than before. The oil level dropped from the maximum line to almost the minimum line. So, I took the vehicle back to Wright Auto Works for them to perform their leak tests. I dropped the vehicle off on 11/4 for them to start the next day. The following Monday I got a call telling me that 1 bolt is missing from the valve cover and that was the cause of the major leak. Ok, I can understand that the seal may not be perfect, but the missing bolt was in the front, and I was told the leak was from the back of the valve cover. I, personally, am not a mechanic but that confused me. I agreed to go ahead and replace both valve cover gaskets again and put new bolts in there for ~$2800 plus the ~$320 for the leak tests. A couple of days later I got another call saying they found that a bolt on the timing cover is broken as well. The timing cover is tucked behind a bunch of things so it can be hard to see a broken bolt. I was told the broken bolt could be the cause of some oil leaking as well, so I agreed to replace the broken bolt for an additional ~$250. The following Tuesday I called to see how things are going because I hadn’t heard from Wrights since the initial phone calls for diagnostic. They told me that they were running behind and would be finished by Thursday that week. At this point they’ve had the vehicle for 2 whole weeks and still had not completed the job, which was frustrating. Thursday comes and I get a call to not only tell me they are completed with the work, but I have a new oil leak coming from the timing cover. The leak is so big in fact, that I’m told I will probably have to add oil every couple of days if I don’t get it fixed. They gave me an estimate of ~$7000 for this job because they must pull the engine out. I am very confused how a leak that big wasn’t found with the initial leak tests. The vehicle sat for 2 weeks so nothing should really change for any leaks to get worse, right? I asked if it’s common for these cars to leak oil from the timing cover to which I was told, “no,” but a quick google search showed that the bolt on timing covers break often and oil leaks do happen often because of that. I didn’t agree to their fixing this issue and said I’m coming to pick up my vehicle, to which they told me it was ready now but if I wait and come pick it up later in the day, they will wash the car before my pickup. I decided to forgo their wash. When I picked up my vehicle, I found it was covered in bird poop, and they did not top up any oil from the leak/repair. I will try to attach pictures to this review, but I can only hope other vehicles they “care” for aren’t treated the same way as mine.

I had a great experience at Wrights Autoworks. They were quick and efficient, I waited during my service and the entire process was seamless from start to finish. After the appointment, they provided a detailed report with recommended services, but never pressured me to make a decision on the spot like dealerships often do, which I really appreciated. Everyone there was very nice, professional, and welcoming—even asking my opinion on their coffee setup while I waited. Highly recommend!

I had a great experience with Wright Auto Works. They did an alignment on my car and got it looking absolutely dialed in. You can tell they really know what they’re doing and take pride in their work. The whole process was super easy from start to finish. They were straightforward, professional, and made everything simple with no hassle. It’s not always easy to find a shop you can fully trust, but this is definitely one of them. If you’re in the Charleston area and need quality work done, I highly recommend Wright Auto Works.
