We recently took our van to Holt Transmission on Sam Rittenberg - Our car was jerking and really acting up. Jeff and his team quickly diagnosed the problem and a short time later let us know what was needed and what the price would be. My transmission busted and I called several places in West Ashley to compare prices. I spoke to the owner on the phone and he gave me a fair price and said he could have my car finished in just about two days time. My car was being a little difficult, to where it ended up taking an extra couple of days- but my transmission was fixed (even after the delay) quicker than many of my friends. The owner was extremely helpful through the process and very nice, also wants me to bring the car back in two weeks to check and make sure everythingβs working well. Definitely recommend Holts Transmission

Abhorant customer service. I called to schedule an appointment to have my clutch replaced. I was told to drop it off Sunday night and the car may be done Tuesday, will be done wednesday and at X price. I called back to confirm OEM Parts would be used and I was told yes, and that the appointment was still good to go. I picked up a rental and proceeded to drop off the car. Monday evening, after trying to reach someone after multiple attempts, I got a rep. I asked how it was going and if they thought the car would be done tuesday. I was asked what my VIN was so they could order the OEM part. (Thanks for not reaching out, that was 1 day wasted). Later I was told that a few of the parts would be OEM but the throwout bearing would take 10 days to arrive. (I already dropped the car off, I already got a rental, I went ahead with what they had on hand. Wheather or not I wanted OEM parts should have been discussed before the appointment, and the 10 day shipping time should have been discussed prior to scheduling an appointment.) I call Tuesday, again trying a handful of times before finally reaching a rep. Wont be ready. That's okay. I call Wednesday, again after multiple attempts, and get told they put the car back together wrong so it'll be another day. I call thursday, same situation, and I get told "Oh yeah, your car's ready". (this is 45 min before they close. Thank you for calling me...) I pay and pick up the car. The clutch feels like garbage and had to go another day without my car for them to re-bleed the clutch hydraulic line. Friday evening they finally call me for the first time to let me know the car's done and that I'll have to pay someone else to perform an alignment. They should have asked if I wanted OEM prior to the appointment, as well as letting me know if a part would delay the appointment. I had to use PTO because I origionally only had the rental for a few days, not the week it took. This place has terrible customer service.

Transmission flush & fill and filter change services were completed quickly, along with an engine diagnostic. Very helpful & they take the time to listen! We got to meet the shop manager and the owner. The mechanics we passed by in the bays were friendly too. Very clear in our 2 visits why Holt Transmission has been around the Charleston area for so long and why theyβve grown to multiple locations. Trust them to do honest work on your vehicles.

Hot Transmission is where you want to take your car for repairs! They quickly tested and diagnosed my car, and also handled everything with the warranty company that I use. They were also quick to make repairs once the warranty company gave them the green light. Such a great help during the stress of not having a working car. This business is a scam donβt go here. When I dropped off my car it wasnβt shifting and I had to manually shift the car, I only went to this shop because it was right down the road from where it stopped shifting at. Someone told me to grab a card and call the service manager Kevin Madden. I explained what was going on with the car and he asked a few questions. I then expressly stated βI need a quote for how much it will be to fix it before I have any work doneβ. Kevin said yes, absolutely. I waited for about five hours and then he calls and says, βit was the shifter cable that went bad, I already fixed it, it will be $521 when you come to pick it up.β I asked for a quote only and he did an exceedingly shady business move to ensure he got money while ignoring my request directly. This is a terrible business and I do not recommend anyone go here, in fact, avoid it like the plague.

Bought a used car and came in to get the transmission fluid changed. Called to get estimate and make appointment. Worked me in the very next day. Total cost was within 20% of the estimate. Great service great attitude. Nice place quick turn around. The only thing I will say and most local places that have been around since I was a kid in Charleston stick to old school payment systems to keep the overhead down. I get it. Some may not like the extra charge for using credit but the price of the service reflects so its always a balance. And handing your ride to someone you can trust these days that's a bonus in of itself.

Iβve brought an 2001 Honda accord, only had 210k on it, the transmission fluid was definitely needed to be changed out real bad, so they changed it out and they done a Very Good job! All I ever have owned is used cars and have worked on them and had enough engines and transmissions let go (fail, die, go kaput) that I know many of the warning signs. But some 5-6 year ago my daughter, granddaughter and I piled in the old Buick and took off to Folly Beach for a long weekend, this car showed NO SIGNS of a problem. Drove into Charleston and was at a RED light on Folly Beach Rd and when the light turned Green hit the gas and the transmission went ZZZZZZsssss and the car went no where. Knew immediately the transmission (failed, died, went kaput). Thank goodness my son in-law and his father were driving down in another car and came a helped to push it off the road. I had to make a quick decision and had it towed to "HOLT Transmissions" . I have to give those folks a THUMBS UP rebuilt the transmission and a couple of days and I still drive this car daily.

Well established transmission service shop. Asked about a transmission filter, fluid and flush! Surprised they didn't have the equipment to do a complete flush. Quoted $375.00 for a filter/fluid change!!! $20 filter and $50 fluid so that $300 labor Crazy.

I went to them as a local person sharing the money around town they did a bench job for on my work truck so I told them to upgrade the parts that I specified in for heavy duty towing. I received my transmission back installed it an noticed my dipstick could not get flush inside the tube no biggie at this point drove an it seemed to be as if it was never fixed long story short all part was old took it toa different location an still the run around had to get rental for 2 weeks with no answer from owners. 1600 down the drain thanks a lot holt

The service here was excellent. I brought in my 2013 Ford Focus on short notice, and they had it diagnosed within a few hours. Kevin gave me a fair quote for a clutch replacement, but since the repair wouldβve cost more than the carβs value, I decided not to move forward. Even so, Kevin didnβt charge me for the diagnostic. Outstanding customer service β highly recommend!

Working with Kevin. The customer service has been stellar! We are stuck in Charleston for a work trip from Orlando. He took the time, without an appointment, to diagnose my 07 Chevy Express 2500 duramax. We might not make it back to Orlando by Monday, but at least weβll know whatβs making my van act up.
