The Best Smog Deal in Redding This was my 2nd year in a row using A-1 Smog & Repair. They offer a Early Bird Special if you get there prior to 9:00A.M. The staff is super friendly and fun. They have a seating area for customers inside, but they get the job done so fast you'll barely use it. Being on a fixed income I am truly grateful for A-1 Smog. I was in & out in under 30 minutes for $43.00 which included a tire check/fresh air in my tires. Thank You A-1 Smog & Repair

I went in and failed smog because of an unapproved catalytic converter so as a mechanic I cleaned the original and put it back on and went back the second time and was failed because they didn't do the work and they failed it. They treated me like a liar about the situation, extremely rude, slow and incompetent. Go to Rochas, they are fast kind and know what they are doing.

Fear mongering tactics used on me. Told car failed due to smoke out tailpipe they floored my gas pedal to make it look bad. Said I would require 300 diagnostic and possible other work. Charged me the smog fee. Took to other shop passed just fine. NEVER GOING BACK

BEWARE———BEWARE————-,Brent the owner is a greedy guy !!!!!!! Had to have a lamp and brake inspec. for dmv his other shop said i had bulbs out and e brake needed inspec. so they sent me to his shop. funny he was at that other shop when i was there. quated 597.00 for e brake pads and said had for 4 bubs out. once they got it on the rack and replaced the e brake came back said my headlight is loose and i need a bracket 405.00, ( no headlight adjustment after install) tailight had a bb hole says need to be replaced 65.00. charged 120.00 to replace 4 bulbs that maybe took 10 mins. plus they were used. signed three different quotes when it was on rack and walked out of there with a 1395.00 bill . plus they charge 3% to use a debit card i should of read his reviews because I am not the first one that he over charged. Going rate e brake pads 275.00 f-350 taillight 32.00 charged 65.00 headlight bracket 88.95 charged 165.00 plus labor 240.00 there are plenty of honest shops I would recommend useing one of them. Can say one good thing the mechanic was a nice guy to bad you work for him. This is what my headlights look like way out of alignment. READ THE OTHER FOLKS REVIEW IF YOU NEED WORK ON YOUR VEHICLE THIS GUY IS A GOUGER.

The lady at the front desk belittled an employee right in front of me. John was his name. He was absolutely dumbfounded. She ridiculed him in front of everyone. Not to mention. They failed me for a "torn evap hose" even though it passed the evao test. Took it to my local place. In red bluff. Passed just fine. This place is a sham and preys upon people who dont know.

Service at the front desk is rude. Couldn't smog my car on Saturday because "we close in an hour". Not sure why they couldn't do what they advertise as a offered service because they had more than an hour to do it, absolute nonsense. Made an appt with JT smog, never going to A1 again.

Took my mustang in to get smogged. When I got home, I noticed the OBO was pulled off the dash/column with the connecting piece laying on the floorboard. Not only did the technician break my OBO off, but he disrespectfully just tossed the connecting piece on the floor. In the future, they need to be more carefully. Not a big deal overall, but I am writing this review so when I need to smog my car again, if the technician tries to say they can't run the diagnostics due to the OBO being broken, then I can refer them to this review.
