I have finally found a trust worthy repair shop! I had taken my 2007 Ford F150 pickup truck to four different shops because it had a check engine light on and failed emissions testing. The first shop replaced the oxygen sensors and assured me that the problem was solved. I was driving to the inspection place when the light came back on. I went to another shop and they replaced the temperature sensor. Again I was promised the problem was solved. The light came right back on. The third shop replaced two fuel injectors and cleaned the valve body. Again the light came right back on. The fourth shop told me I needed to replace a throttle position switch? I think you probably know by now the light came back on. Each time I went back to the four shops they all wanted to charge me again to diagnose the light problem even though I had already paid them and they failed to fix it. Their diagnostic prices ranged from 95 to 125 dollars. I refused to pay again and left. I will never go back to any of those shops. A friend told me about Robert More at A/C Authority, and said they are a reputable shop and have always fixed his car the first go around. I called Robert for an appointment and he told me I could come in anytime, no appointment needed! When I got there I was really surprised and impressed with the professionalism of the staff. The shop was the cleanest I have seen in a long time, (hey, it's an auto repair shop, not a dentists office). They have a large waiting room, big screen TV and free wifi. I asked Robert how much it was going to cost to have my truck's engine light code checked out and he told me he wouldn't charge me anything for the computer scan. Are you kidding me I said? I have already spent four hundred dollars having the other shops "diagnose" my truck, not to mention what I paid for parts and labor for the un-needed repairs. The service manger Paul pulled my truck into the shop and came back a few minutes later and told me the computer had an emissions code that showed some kind of leak. He said it was really a common problem with Fords and told me to replace the fuel cap. What? They called the parts place and had one delivered and installed on my truck within about 20 minutes. The whole thing took less than a half hour and cost me about 20 bucks for a fuel cap. That was just before summer and about 7 months ago. The truck passed emissins testing and the light has not come back on! I'm sold on the guys at A/C Authority and will bring my cars to them from now on. They are by far the best shop I have ever been to. Happy happy joy joy!

I have been driving my car around the Austin area since February without A/C. I just couldn't take it anymore, so I decided to bite the bullet and take it in to a mechanic with the hope it would't break my bank. From the first phone call to my appointment, it was all very easy and pleasant. There was no up front cost for them to look at it and he didn't charge for "plugging" the a/c back into working order. He even secured it so it didn't come undone again. I've only taken this car to one other mechanic over the last 2 years who charged me $150 just to look at it each time... and EVERYTHING was charged out. It feels REALLY GOOD to find a business you can trust. I will definitely be taking my 'ol girl back there for all her maintenance needs. I'm so glad I found you guys. Roni B.

I showed up without an appointment, they checked out my car for free. I thought it needed a major repair. Robert was extremely knowledgeable as he knew a common a/c problem with my make and model my mechanic couldnt figure out. Super inexpensive repair, I was back on the road in an hour or so. Still blowing ice cold air, good guys!

I cannot say enough great things about the guys at AC Authority. From the very beginning they worked hard to get our broken AC fixed in record time. They worked around our busy schedule and even offered to pick up the car. They were faster with repairs than we could have ever expected. Thanks to them we have AC for the hot Texas summer. I'm only giving one star because the staff was nice. I took my car to A C Authority to have my A/C checked. I was told I needed to replace the compressor and the A/C condenser ,which in total would cost me $1554. Because of the outrageous amount, I took my car to another shop for a diagnostic. The shop informed me the compressor did not need to be replaced, just the relay part. In total, $169. A big difference from $1554. As a reviewer said, they seem honest ,but will try to bait you. I do not recommend this place.

Brought two vehicles here in July after getting word-of-mouth referral from local NAPA store. They quickly found a leak in my F150's system and refilled it in time for the 4th of July holiday. Then, I brought them my LS-swap project car (LS3 powered Jaguar XJR) and they fabricated new high/low side lines and came up with a better way to wire in the high speed cooling fan to deal with the Texas heat. AC in both vehicles is now icy cold. These folks are the real deal. Highly recommend them without reservation!
