We love taking our cars to A&E Automotive! 104 pt free check of your car. They call you with the results from serious to less serious. When you decide what you will have done they have this wonderful large computer screen that shows your car, license plate, old part, new part installed. They will give you a ride home if you need one. It is the only place we go now!

I first came to A&E when a dealership told me I needed a new and very expensive water pump. Not only did A&E have a lower price, they found that the pump did not need to be replaced (to this day, it is still working fine). Since then, I bring all my cars to them. They are very trustworthy and provide great service, clearly explaining what is needed and why.

If you are looking for a new mechanic, this is the place! Not only are they professional, friendly, and honest, but they also go above and beyond. I was looking for a new mechanic in town about a year ago. I don’t have a lot of money. I also struggle with a neurological disorder, as well as have head trauma.. This often makes it difficult to communicate as quickly as I once did, and at times I am not able to clearly and completely articulate everything. I explained this to Dannon, the woman who owns the business, and she was more than patient with me. She was willing to take the extra time to explain everything, writing things down, and even prioritizing them for me! Knowing I have a tight budget she did everything to make things affordable for me. Not only once, but twice. Very kind person. Edgar, the lead mechanic, and also I believe part owner is exceptional. He went out of his way and took the time to give me a ride home. He too was more than willing to make sure that the necessary, essential work be done on my car, while working with me in order for me to afford. I love the fact the business is run by a woman, and they also employ women mechanics. I have felt taken care of by A & E, I have recommended them to my friends and neighbors, and I feel very lucky to have found them… Thank you everyone at A & E!!!!!

I want to express my gratitude and complete satisfaction with the service I received from A&E Automotive in helping me with some rodent damage to my vehicle. They did a great job on the repair helped me get a reimbursement from my insurance. The insurance estimator was very impressed with how thorough they were with documenting everything with pictures and documentation. They made the process very easy for me. I chose to get a car I was interested in purchasing inspected by A&E because of the reviews — Edgar and team are excellent and very thorough. I was able to get this done remotely (I’m not in the state and traveling to see and purchase a car) which gave me peace of mind before flying out. Had my Toyota Sienna 2006 AWD serviced here that needed a radiator and timing belt replacement. A&E took me in on short-notice where other mechanics turned me away. The job ended up taking longer than expected but A&E was willing to pay for my car rental to make-up for the delay. Despite being a new customer from outside Santa Barbara County, Edgar paid special attention to my repair needs and didn't rush the process or leave the job half-done despite the hiccups that came with my older vehicle. They also made sure to take before & after photos of every step for transparency and I was very impressed by the report I was given when I picked up my vehicle, breaking down the repairs that were done and recommendations for future repairs. The pricing rates were fair. It has been about 2-weeks, and the car drives better than ever. Only note for improvement I would make is to improve the daily communication. A&E does tell you the approximate date when the vehicle will be finished, but keeps you in the dark during the in-between dates. I'm just being nit-picky here, but would've been nice to have 1-daily update of the repair process (i.e. parts ordered, vehicle in the service line, delays, etc.) via text or voicemail. However, at the end of the day, you want a mechanic that does the job right for the right price, and A&E does this well. Will be coming for future repairs.

I have a 2001 Saturn SL1 that, in my first year with my license, they saved my car and helped me get my motor rebuilt as well as do a bunch of other repairs around the engine bay. Dannon is very friendly and sweet as extraordinary as her hard-working mechs always putting cars on the lifts and working on them. It's a wonderfully run Mom & Pop shop, they do a great job here and they show you a genuine human experience. They'll never try to just take your money and do whatever, and I highly recommend going here for any or most repairs, if not all repairs depending on what car you have.

I can’t thank this mechanic enough! I bought a car from a dealer “as is,” and just three months later the engine failed. He was upfront and honest with me from the start, explained everything clearly, and even gave me advice he didn’t have to. Although he doesn’t usually do engine replacements, he was willing to take the risk to help me out. Most importantly, he suggested I go directly to Ford to check for warranty coverage and thanks to his honesty, I ended up getting a brand-new engine at no cost! 🙌 I truly appreciate his knowledge, transparency, and willingness to go above and beyond.
