Eric, Rick, and the team at this AAMCO location do great work and are professional in all aspects of service. My transmission failed and left me stranded. Called this AAMCO and they recommended a tow service and called me early the next day with service options. I even called a relative who is an expert in all things auto for a second opinion and he told me it sounded like a good deal. My car shifts gears smoothly now and I have a 3 year warranty on this transmission work. This staff went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of as a customer and it is greatly appreciated. I cannot give enough praise to this location. You won't regret taking your business here. A+++

I highly recommend this location. If you want your auto fixed right the first time take it to the 6th avenue location. If you are self diagnosing your vehicle, then you might want to fix it yourself, but if you want professional, experienced mechanics to diagnose and repair your vehicle this is the place to be. Rick, Steven, and Gus, shout out to you guys. Best customer service I have had from a business that has done work for me. Also a shout out to the guys in the shop that never get recognized, you all play a big part in keeping this business successful by the great work you do. Thanks Rick for saving me money on my backup camera sensor. The dealer would have easily charged me a diagnostic fee and a labor and repair fee for what you did with the flick of a wrist. Steven my good buddy, we didn't fuss on my last shop visit, but I was so glad to see you in the shop and feeling well. Thanks again guys, I' l see you at my next oil change.

Took my car to Rick downtown and it was the best experience I've ever had at a repair place. He was very detailed about the issues my car was having and he educated me on my car. He recommended different people to look up that will help educate me on my car as well. I would trust my car with Rick no matter what kind of car I have. I didn't feel like he was just trying to get money out of me but he actually cares about people safety and their vehicles. Go see Rick he will give you the best deal in town and make sure its done correctly.

After reading the positive reviews, I decided to give AAMCO a call to see if they could assess my car for a coolant leak issue. Unlike all of the other local mechanics that I called, I was told to bring my car in that same day to be assessed(vs waiting at least a week for an appointment). It turns out that the part that I was in need of was available that day(coolant hose). The next day, I received a call that the repair was made, my car was running smoothly, and it was already available for pickup. I really appreciate the excellent customer service, reasonable prices, and speedy repair. I highly recommend AAMCO!

My car crapped out and I had to leave it in the side of 4th Ave. I just happened to call a tow company and they had a driver that was at Aamco so I just had it towed there. Robert was so patient with me and explained everything as he went. I will definitely take my car back anytime it needs service.

First contact with Robert Nunez was very much the reason for this review. I appreciate going to places where the first contact sets the expectations of your visit. I would recommend this location to anyone needing auto repairs and good customer service.

Third transmission we have had put in our truck. The transmission are faulty they run for about a month or 2 then start messing up again. It’s their fault they have had our truck for 1month and the transmission still hasn’t arrived. It is no way they can compensate us for the inconvenience they are putting us in. No rentals or anything. My husband is disabled and we need our truck for his transport to and from doctors appointments. So we have been put in a bind. They need to change their policy that if they have to keep your vehicle over 3 weeks they need to compensate you with a rental or provide you some kind of ride uber or something

I mean of course I was overwhelmed with the price but I felt like they (he)were actually trying to help me ...I told Bryant that my father had passed and I was clueless as to what I should do as my dad he had always taken care of my cars ,had always taken it to his people and knew who to talk to and now I'm on my own my own ....he told me to just think about it logically a paid off car and this one payment with a 3 yr warranty on the transmission meaning anything go wrong it's no charge Vs. Having to do a down payment and a note for 5 to 6 years getting a new car but what sold me to them was he didn't laugh (y'all know the laugh)in the conversation he gave me the payment options and options they had available told me to call with any questions Bryant was very transparent and I believed him so bigg girl (durango) is getting taken care of no pictures yet but when it's done ...photo ready

I’ve always had a great experience at this AAMCO. Robert and the entire staff have treated me fairly and honestly every time I’ve needed service. They take the time to explain what’s actually needed, and I’ve never felt pressured or overcharged. It’s clear they value their customers and run an honest business. I highly recommend them if you want straightforward, trustworthy car care.

Robert and his crew went out of the way to find me a discontinued 1 year only transmission we will just say you can't even get parts for it i tried finding them myself and Robert said let me work on finding you one the next day boom he had located one out of a low mileage reck he ordered it in checked everything out with it and backed it with a 2 year warranty and got me in the shop for the repairs gave me up to date on when it would be done i asked him to give the rest of the truck a once over and if it needs it call me and let's see if now is the time to fix it he found a few small repairs and do for a oil change gave me a great price to do the other repairs and I still got the truck back at the same time he told me it would be done I'm proud to give this review to a knowledgeable team thank you for your hard work I would have had to replace the truck if it wasn't for you so if you're car or truck gets sick take it to see the pro's

Mike was a jewel. So helpful and he cares about his customers. Always let me know what was going on with my car and what stage they were in. Helped get assistance when I did not have enough to pay for transmission. Courtesy goes a long way and he was very courteous. Ill go back again.

My experience with AAMCO was the best I have ever had with a car shop! I went to see if there was a problem with my transmission after being told a leak in my car was not an oil leak. AAMCO did a diagnostic on my car for FREE and told me the problem was an oil leak and exactly where it was coming from. They even put oil in my car at no charge. Their manager, Mike, was so great! He explained everything to me with great clarity and was so respectful! He even reviewed the check engine codes with me and provided a printout of them. He seemed to genuinely care! I highly, highly recommend this shop to anyone that need any services they provide!

A Mixed Experience: Good Intentions, Inconsistent Results I’m writing this review with genuinely mixed feelings. While the staff at AMMCO—particularly Mike (regional manager) and Brian (manager)—have been incredibly sweet and clearly want customers to be satisfied, my experience with the actual service work has been deeply frustrating. I originally came to AMMCO in late December/early January for transmission work, which was completed successfully. However, what followed has been a continuous cycle of issues that’s left me confused and concerned about the thoroughness of their inspections. The Pattern of Missed Issues: Within a week of the transmission repair, I noticed strange sounds and brought my car back for inspection. They found nothing. Shortly after, I discovered my ball joints and tie rod ends were completely gone—something that should have been caught during their inspection. I had to go to Mavis for those repairs, where they also informed me I was out of brakes front and back. I understand AMMCO specializes in transmissions and engines, but I’m confused how these major safety issues weren’t flagged when they had just thoroughly checked my vehicle. A week later, my air conditioning completely failed. AMMCO inspected it but found nothing wrong. An AC specialist later told me the repair was more complex than a simple fix, requiring extensive work. The Oil Change Saga: During a follow-up transmission check, I was told I was completely bone dry on oil—despite having had an oil change just months prior. They performed an oil change, but within a month, I was bone dry again and had to add oil myself repeatedly. When I finally had it checked elsewhere months later, Express Auto immediately found a major leak that “whoever did your oil change should have caught.” When I called AMMCO about this, they acknowledged they’d had a problematic technician who wasn’t doing his job properly. Mike worked with me to make things right, and they fixed the leak. I genuinely appreciated this and left a positive review as requested. The Final Straw: One day after driving away from that repair, my check engine light came on. AutoZone detected a misfire on cylinder 9 related to the fuel pump—located right near where they’d just been working. When I called to ask about it, I didn’t speak with Mike or Brian, but rather someone (possibly a technician) who was dismissive and somewhat hostile. He essentially told me it wasn’t their problem, that my car is older (it’s a 2015 with a brand new transmission and nearly everything replaced), and that things just happen. His attitude was shocking after everything I’d been through. My Bottom Line: I’ve spent approximately $8,000 at this facility. Mike and Brian are genuinely kind people who seem to care, and there’s a real “back country” feel where they want you to be happy. However, I’m concerned about the consistency and thoroughness of the actual mechanical work. The pattern of major issues being missed during inspections, followed by problems appearing immediately after service, is troubling. I’ll return only because I have a lifetime warranty on my transmission, but I won’t be using them for other services. I hope they now have better technicians in place who perform thorough inspections and that customers aren’t met with defensiveness when they raise legitimate concerns.

Employees are very experienced at what they do. and I’m very pleased with the work that they’ve done on my car. I’ve had no problems since they have fixed it.
