This place is a ripoff. My Mustang had an error code and it was a simple fix. The shop told me yhe error code meant nothing. They calked me and told me they would have to drop the transmission. I told them no. I took the car to a local shop and they repaired the frayed wire for $100. After that no more transmission problems. Drop the transmission cost, that Aamco wanted would be super expensive. Don’t take your vehicles here.

They should have been upfront with me about how long it would take to fix my car. Iwas told when I called a week ahead to schedule the appointment that my car would be ready by the end of the day if I dropped it off in the morning. I dropped my car off at 7:30 am and was told it would be ready by the end of the day. I called about 5 pm to get an update to only be told it wouldn't be ready until the next day. I already took off 1 day of work to get my car fixed and now had to find a ride to work for the next day.

On behalf of my husband, Doug and Manny were great on the rebuilt of his transmission. Customer service was great, and the turnover time was even better. We highly recommend AAMCO of Waldorf.

The office staff was very professional, pleasant, and expressed a willingness to help. I was informed someone will call me during the week concerning my Ford Escape, and I did receive the call in a timely fashion. I was informed of the trucks concern, and I was provided an estimate. To my surprise, I was offered financing as well. I thought I was going to have to provide payment upfront. The financing really helped. I was promise my truck within the next week, and my truck was completed for pick within the suggested time frame. A caveat was I had to return the truck because of a noise, and the team checked out the truck concerning the noise. The staff had a quick turnaround to resolve the noise concern, and I was on my way. I would recommend AAMCO of Waldorf Thanks for all you do! Dr. Reed District Heights, MD

I had my daughter's car served at this location for the check engine light. The car was serviced on September 5, 2014. Along with servicing the check engine light, they also serviced her transmission. The check engine light came on a few days after I got the car out of the shop. Since September 5, the car has been in the shop two additional times since the original diagnosis for the same problem...THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT! I spoke to Manny and Doug about the problem. They both are now saying "it could be anything that causing the light to come on." Now, her transmission indicator light is on indicating that her transmission fluid is low. Manny or Doug is not offering any help on the matter except for asking me to bring the car back in their shop for a fourth time. I honestly feel like I washed $600.00 down the toilet. Manny, the owner refuses to give me a refund. As a customer, I feel this is horrible customer service. I paid for two services to be done yet there are still problems...THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS STILL ON and now her transmission fluid indicator is on. The car is in worse condition than it was when we took it in to be serviced! After weeks of research, I finally found a number for AAMCO's Customer Relations group. They told me that this shop is an individually owned shop which means it's up to the owner as to how these types of issues will be solved. There's NO accountability whatsoever! I'm very dissatisfied. I mean totally dissatisfied.

This whole experience has been a nightmare. For two months they have had my Chevy Avalanche in and out of their shop. They went as far as installing a remanuf trans and it still does not shift right. Now the speedometer does not register the correct speed and the service 4 wheel system comes on. This will be the fifth time the truck will have been in their possession. They also backed into the front of my truck due to the extremely tight conditions there and stressed cracked the paint on the front bumper cover. Needs to be repainted. My truck is still not drivable and I am waiting on their answer to resolve this issue. They are by far the worst company that I have ever dealt with.

Made an appointment online. Never received a call or email back to confirm. So I called. Guy on the phone seemed to have a problem with me wanting a diagnostic on my car that's still under warranty. All I wanted was a second opinion on a issue with my transmission that the dealership is trying to ignore. I'll just take my car to a different transmission specialist.

I was not satisfied with the service regarding a transmission for my 2015 Buick Enclave. The shop kept my car a week before it was repaired. I had to rent a car twice which cost me $800. When I picked my car up it was in the same shape when first left it for repair. I had to return my car a second time for repair. I picked my car up on Saturday, Jan. 8. Now, I have to put my car in the shop to have a front end alignment. I am afraid to drive it. The total cost to repair the transmission was $5600. This service was horrible. I will not recommend anyone to this AAMCO. Very dissatisfied.

My recent experience with the Waldorf AAMCO was extremely professional. The initial diagnosis was a malfunctioning radiator. They installed the new radiator. After the installation the air conditioner did not work , with the modern day vehicles much of what is done is tied to a computer, I called Doug and he said bring it back and without hesitation they located the problem and reset the system. Perfect attitude and outstanding service. Several days later, there is a leak and after diagnostics, they find a hair line fracture in the new radiator that they had previously installed, AAMCO Waldorf, Doug and team without reservation put in a new radiator and new thermostat the next day and called me at the end of the day to say it was ready. Outstanding service, a team that earns your dollars, deserves your dollars and provides customers with an assured warranty that they fix what they promise and certainly promise that what they fix will meet or exceed your expectations as a consumer.

THE WORST experience I have ever had at a repair shop. They told me I needed my rear differential replaced, so I took it in Monday morning to do so. They called me at the end of the day saying they were sent an incorrectly labeled part (the differential had the wrong gear ratio). They spent the day installing this part in my car only to discover it was incorrect and then completely not drivable. They told me my car would not be done until the end of Wednesday (three full days in the shop for a repair that had been quoted at 6 hours). When I asked to be provided with a rental car or some compensation for the error, they refused, and instead complained to me that they were losing money on this because of the extra labor they had to put into the car. Whether it was their fault or not, it is their responsibility to provide compensation for the mistake that was made, since I had left my car under their care, and I would have not been upset at all if they had simply paid for a rental car (or even had been apologetic that this had happened!). Not to mention, I found them to be very condescending and offensive when I asked any questions (such as whether they would provide a rental car, or whether it was possible that the entire differential didn’t need to be replaced). Finally, after I got the car back, it was doing THE SAME THING I brought it in for in the first place. I took the car to the shop again, and they told me that now I need my front two wheel bearings replaced ($750) and I have a transmission issue (~$3250-3750). I am extremely frustrated because if they had they found all of these issues in the first place, I likely would not have decided to make the first repair ($1700), since all of these issues together about the worth of my entire car. Needless to say, I am extremely displeased with the experience.

Doug first and then Manny were great. Doug welcomed me when I inquired about transferring my vehicle from another business. From that time on I was in good hands from start to finish. They even invited me back for a service checkup on my installed transmission after 10 or 12 days. My car drives like it did when I first got it. Now it has 208,000 mile with a newer transmission. Thank you AAmco guys!

This shop started off in a great manor but quickly turned into a nightmare. He could not quote me a price but wanted to drop my transmission. Another advisor said he would have to redo the whole process to quote me. He did not offer to do so afterwards. Then the transmission tube cap was missing when I picked my car up. I asked an advisor about it and he handed me a random cap and said, "here try this one." He did not offer to get a tech to replace my cap that they did not put back on or offer help himself. Thankful I did not give the go ahead for them to drop my transmission. How can a shop be trusted to rebuild a transmission when they cannot pay attention to simple details (putting the transmission tube cap back in place)?

I would not recommend anyone taking their vehicle to this place for any reason. I don't think a back alley mechanic would have cause more damage to my vehicle as this so called "reputable" shop has done. I had my vehicle towed there to replace the transmission only; that was the ONLY issue with my vehicle. Instead, while at their shop, they claimed I had a catalytic converter and an electrical problem that had to be fixed first. After almost two months later, when it was time for the warranty company to honor my claim; after speaking to the shop manager, things only got worst. Going from obtaining a used transmission to only paying less than $2,000 towards a new one; therefore, no transmission replacement at all. I had enough and just wanted my vehicle back; it cost over $2,300 for the "repairs". The manager claimed it was drivable and took me on a test drive. When I asked why five vehicle trouble lights plus the engine light was on; they gave me some gibberish for an explanation. When I tried to drive my vehicle home, it would NOT start. I had to get one of their mechanics; who mumbled something about the negative battery cable or post; which he said he fixed and gave me a jump. I made it home, but the vehicle would not start the next morning because of something they did to my electrical system, that was draining my 6 months old Die Hard battery.

GREAT EXPERIENCE. Delivered great repair, on time, exactly as quoted. I saw the harsh reviews here but I had used this shop 10 years ago and decide to try anyway. They are BUSY. When I tried to do a drop off, Manny asked me to come back in a couple of days when he would schedule time. AfteI dropped my car, the next business day, Manny called me and told me he was sourcing a rebuilt transmission. He quoted a price, estimated repair in two-weeks, and asked for a deposit to approve the work. I called to check progress after 10-days and Doug assured me it would be ready in two days. Saturday morning, Doug called and told me they were finished. I couldn't get there until after they closed, so Doug took my credit card over the phone. My car was waiting with the keys uder the mat later that evening. Runs perfect. Exactly as quoted. It's obvious why they are so busy -- quality work, done on schedule, at a fair price.

Super satisfied with the work that was done on my car. I'm a couple weeks late posting but I'm very grateful that my issues were fixed after I couldn't find anybody that knew what was going on. Cars running great I don't have to worry about buying a new car and having a car payment highly recommend

I give these guys 5 stars. I got my rebuilt transmission and was put in a lil late due to the summer holidays but when it arrived. I got my 2007 Yukon Denali back on the road. And she responded perfect. I then experienced some other issues that I thought may interfere with the work that was done so I took it back today for my concerns and for my first adjustments after the trans replacement. And Doug and Manny welcomed me and my truck back with no issues.... These guys are my go to shop. No other shop will touch my truck. And I approve this review keep up the outstanding work. From the front, too the back of shop I salute you guys.... Sincerely Yours. Mr R.A. Wilson

I brought my car to this location on August 8th due to an transmission issue on my 2017 Ford Focus. I explained that it hesitates on the gear shift, not being able to go after I put my foot on the gas after a complete stop and etc. I was told they need to diagnose the issue over the weekend to be sure that is the problem which I agreed too. That following Monday, August 11th, I got a call from Doug stating that my car needed the engine mounts replaced(all 3), an engine tune and a deep fuel injection cleaning where everything came up to almost $2,000. I asked if that would correct the problem for my car and I was told that should correct the issue, which I consented to the work to be done and was told the earliest I would have my car back will be the Wednesday of that week, which was August 13th. I called on that Friday, August 15th, to see the status of my car and when I could be able to pick it up, Doug told me that they just got the parts in to fix my car that Thursday, August 14th, and they should have it worked on and completed that Monday, August 18th. Well that Monday came and no call, so I reached back out on that Wednesday, August 20th, and was told that my car was fixed and they are going to put it on a lift to run a diagnostic again and then take it for a test drive to make sure everything is fine and I should have it by the next day. Thursday came and no response so I called back that Friday, August 22nd, to be told that they haven't road tested yet it but they will and I will be called back to know if its ready to be picked up or not, which they did that same day. I came Saturday morning, August 23rd, got my car and after 15 mins of driving, the issue was still there and not resolved. I called back that same day and spoke to Manny as the issue was not resolved with my transmission and that they need to correct the issue, and I will be able to take it back to them that following Wednesday, August 27th. I took it back and Doug took it for a ride while I was in the car and he said he didn’t see what the issue was but to leave it so they can test drive it again and to diagnose the problem. After waiting a week, I reached back out on Friday, September 5th, to get an update on my car and I spoke with Doug, where he stated that he did feel the hesitancy one time in the shift of gears but it was not enough to go by as no lights of any kind came on to warn them of the problem and they needed to drive it around more to make sure and they will get back with me. I gave them more time to diagnose the issue again, but I called back on Thursday, September 11th, where I got the same response from Doug, that’s where I got annoyed and I picked up my car due to the lack of urgency they gave me when trying to get my issue resolved. After getting my car back the issue with the transmission was still there, so on the following Monday, September 15th, I took my car to a service station closer to my house and explained to them the same exact issue I gave AAMCO when I initially bought the car. On Tuesday, September 16th, I was told that the issue was the clutch on my transmission that went up and had to be replaced, where I had to pay almost $2200.00 to fix it as it was misdiagnosed by AAMCO when they said it wasn’t an issue with my transmission, and I got my car back on Thursday, September 18th with the clutch replaced and new transmission fluid put in my car. Based on my experience, I do not recommend anyone to visit the AAMCO Waldorf, MD location based off of the lack of communication, misdiagnosis of my vehicle’s issues, misinformation provided to me and outright the laziness they displayed to show a potential long term customer.

Very dishonest. My husband had rebuilt the transmission, replaced every single part but it still wouldn't run. So we called AAMCO (i was standing beside him so I know what was said). Told them he had never put a transmission together before so he didn't know if he did it right or not. We needed them to check everything and make sure he (husband) put everything together correctly. 1 part we bought didn't work so had to be replaced and the the new valve body came without a valve so we had to take them the old one to use one of those valves. They had it a week and called to say it was ready. I asked Doug 'so you checked that he (husband) put everything together correctly '? His response was 'yes everything looked good, he just had some bolts backwards so we fixed those, and that is why the price is $400 more than what we told you ot would be'. Picked up my car drove it from Waldorf to Newburg, Newburg to Lusby and back, then from the housevto the playground a mile and a half down the road and it stopped shifting. Had to pay to have it towed back to AAMCO. They then tell us husband put everything together wrong and destroyed everything and it will cost as additional $6,500 to fix. So had they done the job they were hired to do in the 1st place it may have costs us more than they charged. But I would have been OK with that. The sole purpose of taking it there was for them to fix it. But because of their dishonesty and deception if I have them fix it I will have paid them over $9,000 to rebuild my transmission on a 2013. What happened to honesty and integrity?
