My car needed a transmission and had been sitting for almost a year. I was so pleased with the service I received from this company. They went above and beyond to help me get my car back on the road. They even give finance options. I 100% recommend taking your car to Aamco. Jack is the best!

Was having some big trouble with my transmission. The guys at AAMCO took great care of my truck! Jimmy was a great service advisor. Getting the work and the parts done in an efficient time and being very communicative. I would definitely recommend this place to future customers for there care and service and will be coming here for all of my trucks servicing

This review is long overdue. I brought my 2008 Hyundai Entourage here on Nov 30, 2023. I actually brought it to the wrong AAMCO place. The Manager, whose name I can't remember at this time; the friendly big guy with the deep voice, explained to me that this happens all the time but I'm in the right place. It took them over a week just to put the car on the lift to see what was wrong with it. On December 13, 2023, Jimmy, the Service Advisor called me at 5:30pm stating that my vehicle is ready. He said I could pay for the car over the phone and that they would leave my keys in a drop box. No thanks! I picked up the car the next morning. I drove it to the gas station and the check engine light came on. I drove it back to AAMCO and explained to Jimmy and the Manager that the check engine light was on. We went outside to my vehicle, I put the car in drive and the transmission was bouncing into gear. I showed it to the Manager and He said, in a Very Condescending tone, "I just see a vehicle going into gear". At that point, I asked for Rodney the mechanic. He came out, got into the vehicle and said it has to go back inside. The check engine light came on because of a bad knock sensor. Rodney assured me it was not a safety issue. It was noted though in the initial findings. They just didn't repair it. During the repair of the knock sensor, a piece of the metal gasket from the valve cover fell into the engine and bent the intake valve. My vehicle had to be sent out to another shop to be repaired. I didn't get my vehicle back until Feb 8, 2024. I wasn't going to write this review but a year later, the transmission died again. I spent a total of $7392 for a rebuilt transmission, knock sensor, sub frame bushings and wheel bearings. Find someplace else to take your car to be repaired!

I’m not sure where to begin. I had over $4,000 of work done at this Aamco in March. I originally took my vehicle there with 2 issues (2 actual lights on, neither being the check engine light) but as I took it there I asked them to do a complete check to figure out any other issues. When they called me they told me about $5000 in things wrong with my car. I had agreed to it being fast and then my dad’s mechanic had looked over the papers and said HUGE NO. They had told me that I had already signed my signature and I could not back out. They had my car longer than expected. When I called they kept telling me everyone had quit and they were behind. Then they said they had to fix something that was critical that they missed upon the check. Never told me what it was. After some back and forth, I did get my car “fixed up”. The car ran fine for about a month. The next month my check engine light came on. I took it to O’reilys to find out that there was a transmission issue. Took it back to them, they stated that they hadn’t done any internal transmission work and it wasn’t anything of their fault. Took it to another shop and they said that my transmission fluid was low. The other shop fixed it. I let ammco know (because that was something that they were supposed to have had done) and they of course said they had put transmission fluid in it, but there was no leaks. When they rechecked my fluid (after the other shop had already topped it off) they actually forgot to replace my transmission dipstick thing. I had got almost to work and they called for me to come back to get it (wasn’t that big a deal to me). After this shop I tried to get an inspection still within this next month and failed on a few things. One of those things being something aamco forgot to reconnect after working on my car (some type of hanger) and something that was needed to pass inspection. Took it to ammco and let them know yet again. There was all new staff within that month. Anyways, every since going to aamco, I am still having transmission issues that I never had before. I went to ammco in this same month after and they tried to get me to pay about $2000 for another service to fix my transmission issues, but let me know that it may or may not fix my issue and they couldn’t be held responsible if it didn’t work. I have literally barely been able to drive my car since taking it to ammco. I’m not sure what it is. But after spending over $4000 in car repairs is so frustrating to have these issues all of a sudden that I didn’t have prior to the work not even a month later. I’m not saying they are responsible but every shop that I have been to since ammco and showed them my paperwork of what I had done there tell me that they got over on me probably because I’m a young female. I was charged for things that multiple shops say weren’t even done. Some things I was charged for shops say that haven’t even heard of. They say that they were charging me to fix issues in pairs, that only needed one fixed. They charged me for so much stuff in my paperwork that most shops literally end up feeling bad for me. I am a young single mom and I have been taken advantage of. And my car has never been the same since ammco. They don’t even try to work with me to get more work done after what I’ve already spent with them. I’m so depressed about my car. I rode around with low transmission fluid for about a month not knowing. I again can not blame them for this issue. However, it’s frustrating spending so much money to have my car break down yet again after not even a month. And to have them throw yet another $2000 estimate at me not even a month after me spending $4000 was insane.

Take my advice, don’t take my advice. “Noodle, don’t noodle”…Military and warranty friendly shop. Don’t let the corporate name tag deter you. Worked with David, excellent customer service beginning to end. Was given full disclosure and fair, honest pricing. AAMCO worked directly with the warranty company, let my truck take a parking spot while “ACME” warranty company twiddled their thumbs. The guys in the back had the work completed within 24 hours of warranty approval. The work itself comes with a 3-year 100k mile warranty at any AAMCO. Nice to know there’s a shop with good people all around that stand by their service. Will definitely return for transmission maintenance after 30k miles. Real customer, real experience.

I just moved here & didn’t have a mechanic in the area. I was recommended to check out AAMCO, Dave was amazing & so helpful. He gave me a tow service that came & picked my car up at no charge & within less than 24 hours I had my estimate. My car has engine issues & not only did he answer all my questions, he actually helped me get it over to the dealership & let me know my car is still under warranty. I would recommend them over anyone else!! I definitely will be using their services in the future for all my car needs!! Thanks for all your help!!

Excellent service! Rebuilt my transmission and fixed several other issues with my Chevy. They were very professional and had my car finished faster than originally expected. Pricing was better than several other estimates I got around Virginia Beach.

I was in VA Beach this past weekend with my two kids and my car broke down. I went to AAMCO first thing Monday morning and met with Tyrone. I explained my situation and Tyrone said that he was going see if he could help me and he did in a huge way! He went above and beyond to find the part that was needed and they had the car fixed by 3:30 in the afternoon. I cannot say enough good things about how happy I am that AAA towed my car to AAMCO. This AAMCO is AWESOME and Tyrone is THE MAN!!!

Robert and Brian were super friendly and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about the repairs necessary for my mother’s vehicle and financing. They went above and beyond to try to find information about financing and the rebate that was offered. Very friendly and genuinely kind individuals. We will definitely be back if we find ourselves having transmission problems with our other cars.

I learned about this location when my shop sent my 64 Buick transmission there to be rebuilt. They did a great job, so when I needed work done on my 63 Cadillac and 90 Lincoln Mark VII, I went to see them. Both cars are show cars, so they are valuable and irreplaceable. The service here is top notch. Bryan and Tyrone kept me informed and the crew took great care with my cars. Few shops have a staff with the skill and knowledge to work on 60+ year old cars. Aside from transmission work, they also did a tune up, radiator replacement, shocks, and clutch fan replacement. They diagnosed some problems with the Lincoln front end that the dealership couldn't. Their work is top notch, I trust them and I don't hesitate recommending them.

We called Aamco about a possible transmission problem. We were able to get a same day appt to drop it off and got a call early the next day with the diagnostic's results. We did indeed need a new transmission and they worked quickly with a service warranty we had to get the repair started. The entire experience with Aamco was quick and efficient! Our main contact person was Tyrone and we appreciate everything he did to make things go smoothly.

I brought in both my cars here to be serviced after hearing about their free AC diagnosis. Their shop manager Brian was extraordinarily helpful and kind in getting my issues fixed in both vehicles. Not only did they make the experience incredibly easy, but they went above and beyond what I know any other shop would do. Most importantly, they were very transparent with their pricing and that made a huge difference. It is so hard to find trustworthy people in the automotive industry, but after dealing with Brian (numerous times, although that was my cars fault, not theirs), I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone I know.

I am very satisfied with the work that the team completed today. Bryan, Kevin, Tyrone, & the technician who completed the task on “Letty” my 06 Lacrosse. They were all very professional and will be who I refer to in the future to my friends.

Thank you Tyrone, Kenny, and Bryan for your excellent customer service support during my vehicle repair process. The Aamco team at the Virginia Beach Blvd location provided quick diagnostic analysis with very reasonable prices. I felt properly informed and advised. Driving the vehicle away from the shop was fantastic! They did outstanding work on rebuilding the transmission and AC/Heating system repairs. If you're looking for competent mechanics that will treat you with courtesy, give fair estimates, and deliver quality work go to this Aamco.
