If I could give 6 stars, I would. If I had more than 2 thumbs, I'd give more than 2 thumbs up. The folks at Express Auto Electric are honorable people and choose the path of doing the right thing, the right way. I was informed that the mechanic stayed past closing time to finish up and check the systems to ensure the fix was complete. I had constant communication with Bill from the time I left my truck to the call to say it was ready to go. They now have a customer for life and will get my recommendation anytime someone asks. Thank you all, job well done!

These folks were awesome! They were personable, highly competent, and very understanding with my needs/concerns when they worked on an electrical project with my truck. They sorted it very quickly and at a reasonable price (nearby competitor wanted literally double for the same job). Additionally, they were extremely patient in answering my multitude of questions and with good humor. Very enjoyable experience.

This place is a ripoff, they have no clue what they are doing. Dropped off a Chevy Tahoe for wiring harness issue, they called me saying that it’s actually the rear shocks and they need to be replaced. 1200 dollars later and the truck still has the same code and symptoms. STAY AWAY AND SAFE YOUR MONEY

AC was not working in my van. The turnaround time from drop off > diagnosis > repairs complete was very quick. Everyone we interacted with was professional and very nice! Repair costs were reasonable for the work that was done.

Negative Experience: Express Auto Electric! The map lights were out on my used Honda Accord, and my alarm was going off at odd hours, so I scheduled a consultation at Express Auto Electric. At first, they said it was an easy repair, and recommended replacing the dome light switch and hood latch. This consultation alone without repairs totaled $156.12. They sent me home, claimed they had detached the hood switch, but did not and the alarm went off at 1:30am. I kept calling back to see if the parts were in and got different stories. I dropped my car off for the repair, left it all day, and around 4:30pm they said it wasn’t that issue: I needed a new multiplex, which can cost $440-$1,000. At this point, why wasn’t this determined when I paid them $156.12? The front desk hummed and hawed without a true reply. They said they found a refurbished part for $440 and would not charge me labor, given the hassle. I kept calling to see when the part came in and could schedule the repair. Several weeks later, I bring the car in, they take the full day to install the part, they say the total is $1,060.02! I replied that they told me they were not charging me labor, only $440 for the part, so the associate takes off only $70.25, saying there was a $500 programming fee! I was appalled—why wasn’t this fee ever mentioned?! My regular mechanic, Shawn and his team at Knight’s Service Center NEVER do things like this! The price they say is what you pay. Unfortunately, they do not do electric repairs, so I was left to find a shop that does and had the misfortune of landing on this terrible, unskilled, unethical mechanic. Learn from my experience and never go to this mechanic EVER!

Update- After this review and a few others the owner contacted me, he expressed he didn’t know my problems with inconvenience and customer service were so bad. He offered to reimburse me for all the coolant I purchased which was over $200 I initially took my car in due to a coolant leak, which required me to top off the coolant every three days. The mechanic identified corrosion on the supply line as the cause and quoted $792 for the repair, which I agreed to. After three days without contact, I called and learned they were waiting for me to bring the car in. I dropped it off on Tuesday, expecting a three-hour repair, but by Wednesday, I was told they had ordered the wrong part, and my car was disassembled, so it couldn’t be returned to me. On Friday, I urgently needed my car and was told it would be done that day. At closing time, I called again and was told it was still being tested. When I arrived to pay for repairs while my husband was available, it was finally ready. However, two days later, the same coolant issue occurred. I contacted them on Monday, and they "burped" the system, but the problem persisted. After multiple returns, they claimed to have pressure tested it thoroughly, finding no leak, yet the issue continued. Frustrated, I asked for a refund but was denied due to using American First Finance. Keegan said they would find and fix the problem at no extra cost but needed to keep the car overnight. I asked that the shop owner contact me. The next day, after no communication, I called and was rudely informed by Darron that a new issue had been found, requiring another $750. Despite my objections, I had no choice but to proceed. I also received no calls from the owner. Meanwhile, I continued spending $20 daily on coolant due to their excessive pressure testing ($240 in total). I took my car there on Friday, which was the soonest they could repair it, even though my part arrived on Tuesday. Keegan and Darron guaranteed that my car would be completed that day. I dropped it off at 8:24 a.m. The repair was a three-hour job. I called 7.5 hours later so that I could come and pick it up. I was told by Keegan that they were wrapping up, and I was put on hold. When the line returned, it was Darron telling me my car would not be done today. I asked why and was told they broke a bolt in my vehicle and needed a special wrench that was at Darron’s house. Understandably frustrated, I told them they needed to get me a loaner or something, and Darron said he’s not authorized to do any of that, and his supervisor wasn’t there. I told him he needed to call his supervisor because they had inconvenienced and taken advantage of me enough. Darron very rudely said that people like me were unbearable to deal with, and I informed him that his customer service was piss poor. He said, "That’s it, you’re not getting your car until Monday," and then hung up on me. I will be telling my story to the state of VA, BBB, and ASE. I don’t know what "people like me" means, but I’m a Black, college-educated business owner.

My driver's seat would not raise back up from the reclining position. I called every dealership and automotive place that electrical work. Everybody stated I would have to wait a week or until the end of the year. However, I called Express Auto Electric and spoke with Chris... I must say this shop is amazing!Chris told me to bring my vehicle over to be looked at. I got same day service, and the pricing was AWESOME! I will Never go to any place else, and yes, they do regular repairs on vehicles too! Spread the word. Go see Chris at Express Auto Electric!

What a ripoff! I dropped off my car and told them to replace one of the electric lock actuators because the power lock on that door wasn't working. I knew what needed to be replaced because another door had the same problem previously. When I went to pick the car up, they charged me for a diagnostic fee in addition to the cost of the repair. And their cost for the repair was $200 more than what the local dealer charges for the exact same repair. I've never had to pay for a diagnostic fee when I've had the repair done at a shop, plus I had told them exactly what I wanted replaced. I didn't need or want a diagnosis. And then when I go to pay the bill, the charge is way higher than a dealer charges. But they have your car and hold you hostage unless you pay the bill. Also, I had originally called on a Monday to ask when I should bring the car in to get the actuator replaced, and they told me to bring it in on that Thursday, which I did right as they opened that morning. Later in the day, I hadn't heard from them at all, so I called close to their closing time. They hadn't even started on the car yet! And no one had bothered to call me to let me know. They didn't finish the repair until end of day on Friday. I'll never go back to this ripoff joint again! In response to owner's post, my car was there in August 2023, Toyota Camry.

SO Pleased with the service and repair costs that went along with the repair of my SUV! Darren and Chris are great! Answered all my questions, detailed what needed to be completed, updated me with any changes to the plan and laughed with me when it was discovered that mice ate my wiring (how can you NOT laugh when mice cause over $1k of damage!) Locally owed, reasonably priced, and a shop that provided excellent service, its a shame I can only give 5 stars!

I can’t recommend Express Auto Electric enough! I had been to two other shops and even the Ford dealership trying to figure out why my check engine light was on, with no success. One electrical mechanic even wanted to do a PIN test for $800, which wouldn’t have resolved the issue. Thankfully, Express Auto Electric got it right. They quickly diagnosed the problem as a faulty O2 sensor and fixed it with no unnecessary upselling or extra charges. They were incredibly upfront and honest throughout the entire process, which is so refreshing in this industry. If you’re looking for a trustworthy and skilled team, this is the place to go! They saved me time, money, and a lot of frustration.

After initially having a very poor experience with the servicing of my 335i Bob the owner did even he could to make me a happy customer. Even with hiccups he maintained his professionalism and care for his business. Doc is one of master techs there and is very knowledgeable. Best advice is if you can speak with the tech who will be servicing your vehicle or Bob DIRECTLY to voice your concerns to ensure their are no miscommunications. Miscommunications cost me quite a bit. I had an electrical issue that caused other issues and Doc got me sorted. Reasonably priced if you know what you want done and there is no guesswork.

Terrible business! Beware of price scamming! Started work with out approval. I had to call to find out they were already working on my vehicle and ordered parts for it. They were gonna charge me $690 for a diagnosis and radio change! Do not leave your car with them! .5 stars

Super thorough, solved the rolling conundrum that is my decommissioned Ford Police Cruiser Utility. Took some time and money, but worth every penny for the piece of mind. Very transparent and upfront about all costs before any work is done. Highly recommend 👌

Took my vehicle in for diagnosis Chris asked me what the vehicle was doing I told him. Then they proceeded to charge me for a diagnosis saying I need a new battery when my battery was not even 2 months old. Updated review: The owner Bob personally attempted to revolve the issue with my vehicle and I sincerely appreciated his efforts

Just wanted to quickly give props to the young man running the desk today (I believe his name was Keenan). Personable, easy to ask questions and great at customer service. I had a slight issue that I caught before leaving the parking lot after the state inspection had ended, and he was quick to come out and document it. Appreciate it.

I had recently lifted a friends Bronco and unfortunately I apparently had clipped a few wires while making room in the wheel well for big tires. The fuel gauge in the cluster was not working and I was referred to Express Auto Electric from a good friend. They were able to expertly troubleshoot and found the wires that were damaged and got the Bronco's fuel gauge to properly read the level. Huge shotout to Bob and I cannot thank you enough!! If you have an electric issue of any kind this is the team to call!!

I can't say enough good about these guys. They are consummate professionals. I had an electrical problem with my C5 corvette and Keagen, Christopher, and Bob all made sure that they did the job right and were very thorough. Their not only good at what they do but are genuinely good people and I will definitely always trust them with any of my automotive needs as they are fair and honest which is hard to find these days.

I brought my vehicle to get the speed calibration tested. The results were impossible as I intentionally changed the tire size to increase my circumference by just over 7% the factory configuration. I went to the competition down the street and it was more accurate on what the circumference increase should have reflected. I understand they just wrote down what was on their device but either the device was off or the procedure was incorrect. It truly is an impossible scenario to have no offset in speed displayed on the speedometer to the actual speed with a circumference increase of 7.1% on the tires. The staff was great and professional but had to give the 1 star as this was not acceptable for payment of service. I am only not recommending the calibration service as the shop seems pretty well for mechanical/electrical services they provide.
