Be aware of this shop when you decide to go there. That's my first ever experience to fix the transmission but maybe this may help you too 1. They will ask you pay $900 cash for taking the transmission out, is CASH! 2. Steve gave me the range to fix the car, from 2200-4450, no surprise, he quoted me 4350 with Cash, otherwise 4700, as he said my transmission is very bad condition, maybe all same very bad condition, so don't be surprised. 3. Be patient, they will take long long time to fix car, take the transmission out, part delivery, wait, wait, wait .. fix, testing... If you need the car urgently, consider about that. Steve gave me the time schedule that is not work at all. Ok, when you still reading this, you are patient enough. 4. He advised me to give him CASH, gave me good discount, but when you wanna pay with debit card or credit card, he got mad and finally we paid with no discount 4700. And he phoned us back because they need cash, um... Why always ask about CASH?! You know that... . Conclusion, If you have plenty of time, no rush, no urgent, Plenty of cash, expected not cheap to fix it back, Poor communication and customer service, Free oil change (maybe after 5 stars comment, idn and I don't need that) Then you should go Oceanside aamco and find Steve. And will enjoy a long and nice journey with him and his team. . Good luck you guys. . Update Two days later, engine light is on, I will go to check that out what is going on!!!!!!!

Slow to do work, incapable of building a solid transmission for anything other than a basic commuter. If you have anything that's performance oriented this is not the shop for you. Overcharge and under perform. They will also keep your car and drive it around and enjoy it. If you're young and don't know much about vehicles don't come here and get swindled. Go to a better shop

Absolutely incredible people and service. I had a noise from some struts that were replaced. I took my Lincoln Navigator to this shop and paid $180 for a diagnosis, with the understanding it would be reimbursed if I decided to get the repair done. The initial quote for a transmission rebuild was $9,500, which I declined. They then lowered the price to around $6,700, but when I asked about the $180 reimbursement, they told me they “also want to make money.” Because I needed the vehicle quickly for commercial use, I agreed to move forward after they promised it would be completed in 1.5 days. However, when I dropped off the car, they suddenly changed the timeline to 5 days, saying “things change.” They then told me to personally pick up the transmission from Ontario to speed things up. I drove my car (with the broken transmission) there, only to have the supplier refuse to release it due to concerns about causing more damage. When I called the shop, they told me I would need to accept the risk of damage myself. At that point, I decided not to proceed with them because of the unprofessional and hostile attitude. I had the work done elsewhere for much less money and in a fraction of the time. Never ever stepping in this shop, I’d rather sending my car to junk

I brought my Honda Accord Car into AAMCO Transmissions Total Car Care Shop for my 10 a.m. appointment with Steve this General Manager for a Free Oil Leak Inspection. This inspection took one hour for Juan their mechanic to perform this Oil Leak Check. Juan this mechanic did a very good job. I set up another appointment to come back at a later date to get my Honda Accord Car repaired to fix this problem on my car.

Ben and Corey were wonderful, going above and beyond to get my very old disability van safely running again. On my first time there, it had left me stranded on the side of the freeway and turned out to need a number of things done. A few weeks later, the car blew a hole in the power steering fluid hose, and they found the necessary part and got it installed for me.

We sold a Volkswagen transmission to this AAMCO Transmission location. Everything was straightforward until after the sale, when Ben, who identified himself as the owner, contacted us demanding that we cover a programming fee. We explained multiple times that we are a parts supplier only, not the installer, and that programming is the responsibility of the shop performing the installation. This is standard practice in the industry and was clearly communicated. Rather than addressing the issue professionally or discussing it calmly, the conversation quickly turned hostile. Ben became verbally aggressive, raised his voice, used profanity, and attempted to intimidate us into paying a fee we are not responsible for. When we stood our ground, he went as far as threatening legal action and coming to our shop with his guys. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable in a professional business environment. Disagreements can happen, but threatening vendors, using abusive language, and attempting to shift responsibility is not how legitimate businesses operate. Based on this experience, we do not recommend that any parts suppliers or vendors do business with this location. Professionalism, accountability, and respectful communication were completely lacking.
