If I could give Chris and Advance a *10* STAR RATING, I would do so. Had a problem with my A/C and called my regular mechanics, Steve & Henry of S&H Auto Repair in Downey. Henry told me yesterday that they will be going out of town and will be back Tuesday. (They are great guys too, to Hispanic brothers who grew up in the Maywood area, same as me) so they said to call Chriscat Advance. Did so, got to the shop at 6:45am and out in about 45 minutes with my A/C problem solved and at a great price.😀

I really dislike being misled, by smooth, likable people. I guess my own karma still has issues. Quoted a good price for a/c charge, 1/2 hour later informed of line leak and for a "substantial" amount would be repaired to last forever. As if I will keep my work truck forever. I decided against it because time was crucial, they wanted another 2 or more hours. So then i'm charged a high price for the diagnoses, almost the original quote, which is deducted from the work if done. I worry if I go back that price will somehow grow. C'est La Vie.

This was the first mechanic to be able to figure out and fix my truck's air conditioner, so kudos for that. He also replaced the motor that rolls up one of the windows, but now a passenger sitting next to that door cannot open it from the inside. I don't often have passengers, so this was not discovered until I moved out of the area. So 50% kudo points only. Prices were in the upper range of fair.

Went in for an ac evacuation and recharge after replacing compressor, condenser and other ac parts. Evacuation and recharge went smooth, but when it was time to start the truck, compressor clutch wouldn't engage. I believe his name was Chris. He asked what else have I done to the truck. Right away he went to fuse box and I had a blown fuse for the compressor. He replaced it and clutch engaged and had cold air right away. Honest MAN. THANKS ADVANCED RADIATOR AND AIR CONDITIONING.

Very misleading! I asked for My A/c to be fixed only to get a recharge instead of a fix but charged me a bogus "repair" and now 1 week later my A/c stopped working. If I wanted a recharge I would have done it myself for more than half the price! All the money to them I guess. Horrible customer service wouldn't recommend.

Don't know about all these 5 star reviews. I explained to the mechanic about my issue with my ac slowly giving out cold air withing a spn of 2-3 weeks and he recharged it right away. He then claimed it had a leak and that he would have to put some rubber seals. 3 weeks later back to square one, took the car back and now was quoted $700 more because now the thermostat is broken. Could have told me that in the beginning but either the mechanic isn't a attention to detail type of mechanic or he's just a cash grab scum.

Highly recommend this place. If you looking at the reviews just bring your car here. These guys are awesome and has very good prices. Me Guage was going up and down, my air conditioner was cool than hot and it was really hot outside. I stay very far from here but I was near this area. Ain't no way I could have made it home. I came here in all I needed was a new thermostatbin these guys solved my problem thank u such.

Have been taking our company trucks there for several years, they have always been fair with the diagnosis and pricing. Always doing just enough but not too much...they really know their stuff. I know enough to do a lot of the work I pay them for but I don't have the time so I have a pretty good idea when I'm being taken advantage of and when someone doesn't know what they are talking about (and guessing with my money). They have earned my trust and I can recommend them with confidence.

Fair work, fair price, spent the time looking for parts and keeping me up to date with progress. Disappointed that major component that was installed began to fail after warranty expired. Had to have the same costly work done a year and a half later at a separate shop that offered competitive pricing and LIFE-TIME warranty on parts. Was also informed that the work completed by this shop was sloppy and damaged an other component in the vehicle. I have yet to inform Advance about it. I think this shop does a good job for all its regular customers, and is not so gracious for any new clients. I hope I am wrong.

I called this company and asked if they recharge air conditioners for cars. Specifically, for a 2010 Toyota Prius. They said yes and gave me the price for labor and Freon. I agreed. I drove there from far away, spent 40 minutes in traffic, and when they started working, they told me they could not recharge my car because it requires a different type of oil for the Freon. Why didn’t they tell me this on the phone when I asked if they could do it? They clearly don’t know their own equipment or how to handle different types of cars. This shows a lack of professionalism. I would not recommend this company – the staff are inexperienced and unreliable.

visited Advance Radiator on 11/26/2025 at around 2:45 PM for a service, and unfortunately my experience wasn’t very positive. Jose was not very helpful. Instead of assisting me, he told me I’d have to wait until Friday. He also said that if I wanted a diagnostic, it would cost $49 plus tax—something I would have been willing to pay if he had shown interest in actually helping. However, he didn’t seem like he wanted to be there or assist me at all. Overall, I left disappointed with the service.
