Great service! The transmission blew on my 2019 Hyundai Tucson on 5/3 and I got it towed here. It’s under warranty and I gave Kelly the information and she worked with them directly to submit a claim. She called me on 5/10 and told me what was being covered and what I owed. I told her to order the new part and said 7-10 days for delivery. On 5/22 I called to check-in and she said it had been ready and that she tried calling me (I never got a call or VM so I’m not sure where the disconnect was since she had called me before). So I picked it up on 5/24. The check engine light came on the next day so on Tuesday I brought it back by and they checked it out and reset it. It’s been running great. For comparison, my engine blew in the end of Nov and had it towed to a small shop. The owner said if my warranty claim was approved he wouldn’t be able to get to it until after Christmas. On 2/6 he called and said it was approved and ordered the engine. I picked it up on 2/17. So all is all, my car was in the shop for 3 months. The turnaround time that Advanced Transmissions had was shocking and appreciated. Def recommend!

I was referred to Advanced Transmissions by one our locally trusted mechanics with high expectations of great service and care of my sentimental 1996 Toyota Landcruiser. Throughout the time my vehicle was in the care of Advanced Transmissions, the receptionist Kelly and mechanics were very professional and remained in communication with me, updating me on the progress of my vehicle and asking me before ordering parts and completing the services needed to make it run properly. Each time I spoke to them on the phone, I asked if it was driving properly and if they noticed anything else that might need to be repaired aside from what they were working on. Each time they responded that it was driving nicely and the items needing to be fixed were being repaired. Upon picking up my vehicle, the battery was dead and the fuel tank was below empty, neither of which were brought to my attention over the course of the three weeks that it was in their care, nor at the counter when I paid the bill. I had to find out for myself when I walked up to start my vehicle, excited to drive it again. Luckily they were kind enough to come out to my vehicle and jump it for me. Upon bringing these concerns to their attention, they said that the car battery had to be jumped every time they worked on it and in the most condescending and sarcastic tone told me that everyone is responsible for buying their own gas and that they drive cars on fumes all of the time without issue and the battery store was next door if I wanted to replace the battery. Had I not looked at the gas gauge, I could’ve easily been stuck on Butler Rd. with an empty tank of gas and a dead battery in a very vulnerable position. I told them that if they had kindly brought this to my attention while my car was in their care that I would have gladly paid for them to put in a few gallons of gas and a new battery. What began as a great experience in developing trust in another local mechanic for the care and maintenance of my vehicle, ended with inconvenience and dissatisfaction. If I could give the receptionist Kelly a 5* review I would! If the rest of the staff had been as courteous and professional in person at pick up as they were on the phone while my vehicle was there and were not disrespectful and dismissive at pick up, after I brought my concerns to their attention, I would be leaving a 5* review. Unfortunately after giving them the opportunity to take accountability and rectify my experience, I am not able to do so.

I took my 2013 Tahoe to them on a Thursday afternoon and I got it back by Friday afternoon. I thought I had a transmission problem and it turned out. It was just the bushings on my shifter linkage. Cost me next to nothing to get it fixed. These guys are awesome and know what they’re talking about! They do their very best to get you fixed and back on the road again!

I just want to say they did an exceptional job. I am not from the area but I had to get my transmission rebuilt and they did a great job and faster then I expected. The customer service was great and they even worked with my warranty company despite all the hoops they put them through. There price was fair and the service was even better. The other shop I took it to before them was trying to charge me an arm and a leg and there customer service was trash. I can’t say enough good things about Advance Transmission in Mauldin! Yesterday my 2017 Tahoe left me stranded, and I had it brought here. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! They stole OVER THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM ME! They constantly told me the transfer case was bad and leaking and we agreed it would be replaced. They called to said the repairs were completed and vehicle was ready and they charged over $3K labor, yet they said nothing was wrong with the transfer case (they previously said it was an issue & leaking) and they did NOTHING TO REPLACE WHAT THEY HAD SAID WAS BAD - they didn’t do any of the agreed upon repairs to the transfer case / transmission!…They said the transfer case looked good and it was “beautiful”, no need for repair…….. then why was I told repeatedly that it was problem with the transfer case and leaking. They could have at least replaced all the parts with new ones since they opened up this old transmission/transfer case. They even lied on the bill and said it was replaced. These kind of auto repair people are CRIMINALS!…… looking to steal your money and do nothing for it….. at this point Who knows if they really did any work on the transmission or transfer case!? I now how to take to a Mechanic see if the work was even done and if the transfer case is or ever was a problem and leaking.

I brought my 2009 Toyota Tacoma with the 4 speed automatic transmission in around mid October of 2025 because I had an issue with pending failure of either the torque converter or the hydraulic pump. Advanced Transmissions had been highly recommended by a friend who had used their services in the past. They were able to work my vehicle into their schedule and get it back to me in a week, with a full rebuild with replacement of all of the wear parts, including the failing component. I waited several months to write this review so that I would have post rebuild experience, and now a few thousand miles later I can confirm that I'm completely satisfied. My transmission now shifts like new again and I have no concerns for its continued reliability. The price was probably not the cheapest out there, but I feel I got my money's worth and a proper repair. I will also now highly recommend these gentlemen to anyone in need of competent transmission repair services.
