Since I moved to Charleston, less than 2 months ago, I wanted to buy a used car. Mr. Moody helped me in the process, by making an inspection of one car I was interested in, and by fixing small things in the car I ended up buying. Mr Moody is skillful, receptive and trustworthy. I have recommended him several times already, and his service is always appreciated, not to say usually 50% cheaper that the other mechanics. In other words, I highly recommend this place !!

Only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because they technically fixed what I asked them to. However, I don’t know why this place has such great reviews… from start to finish my experience was terrible. I brought in my car because it was jerking while changing gears, an auto shop told me it was the transmission and to take it to a transition place. I came here because of the glowing reviews. I told them what had been happening and that the auto shop had sent me to let them check it out. They called back telling me there were some leaks that needed to be repairs and charged $1,500. They called me at 3 pm on the day they said it’d be ready, knowing I didn’t have a car and was going to have to find a ride, and sort of demanded I pick the car up that day because the lot was full when I suggested that I might not be able to make it over there before they closed. I was able to get over the next morning and the whole staff was out to lunch so after insisting I come and pick it up no one was there when I did and we had to wait around until the staff came back. I’m not upset that they were out to lunch necessarily, but it was something in a series of events I’d like to add. When we picked up the car the guy said he drove the vehicle and everything was all good. Driving home I realized that the car was still doing the exact same thing I brought it in because of. I called back and they were very defensive claiming to have had no idea about the car driving poorly and saying defensively “well we fixed what you asked us to, we don’t know anything about how the car drives.”… after saying they drove it… I ended up finding out through an express oil change that they fixed the leaks but neglected to refill the transmission fluid that had been leaking out… so had I not figured this out I would have ruined my transmission anyway due to driving around with no fluid. Call me crazy but I think it’s common sense to refill something that’s been leaking… but they did “do what I asked,” I suppose….

Very busy spot has lots of business.. Scott is very honest and professional he goes above and beyond. I traveled from jersey and the Clutch and fly wheel went on my car... due to the specific car i had parts were unfortunately expensive. Scott was very fair with the labor prices and me being able to source my own parts. He was very flexible allowing my car to be at the shop while i order the parts and he had the work done in 2 days which was great after not having the car for a week. Thank you scott and alpha team!

Took great care of me when I had a nightmare of an issue. My van's transmission died while visiting from Cincinnati on the weekend. By the time they got involved, I was already late getting home and spending extra money on a hotel and getting around town. Even though the tow service was late and they got the van at noon on Monday, they had a diagnosis and estimate for me by 2, which gave me plenty of time to figure things out and get on the road before having to incur more expenses. Couldn't be happier with the way they treated me.

Great experience! The staff were efficient and friendly. After I dropped off my car, they assessed the damages, took pictures, and sent them to me to explain the problem. When repairs were made, after pictures were taken and everything looks great and car is running like new. The repairs were done in a matter of hours and at a great price! Thank you Alpha!

Excellent experience and reasonably priced! I brought my classic IH Scout in due to a leaking transmission cooler and lines. Given the location of the transmission cooler, a significant amount of the front end needed to be taken off to complete the job. Other shops weren't willing to do the job, not only did Alpha do the job, but they did a great job!

Got some lines replaced. They didnt exist anymore for my vehicle because of age. My vehicle was a 02 camaro. On my way outta town to visit my mom the upper line blew off. I was stuck in sally with no ATF. They didnt wanna tow it because it cost to much to bring it back charleston. They sent a nice tech out to resolve the issue. I drove it back to charleston because they wanted to service it before it caused issues. They told me, they replaced the pan, filter, gasket and put new fluid in and the transmission didnt havent any metal in the old pan. Well i spray painted my pan to kinda match the cars color a couple months back. I do some of my own work. But Some work i dont have the tools for. I jacked up the vehicle and behold its the same pan i had originally. The red one. Now i dont know if they serviced it or not. Thank you alpha transmission i wont be reccomending yall to anyone. I love my car. How am i suppose to trust that?

!BEWARE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS PLACE! I brought my 09 Chevy Suburban to this establishment with the issue that my truck had a slight stutter. Nothing major or impacting the trucks ability to drive just slightly annoying, and before it becomes a problem I wanted it taken care of. My old friend who is deceased went here years ago so I remembered him going here. Maybe because he was older white man his experience was great I dont know. From day one it was problems. I came got a diagnosis done it was the control switch. A $200 part. I was quoted 1200 for the service. I need this truck for business and wanted to build my own relationship with this company so I said fine. The woman at the front was always nice. The owner came out checked the transmission fluid with me and there was no issue besides its old. Was told the part would be in Friday to come and it would take a till that afternoon to do. No problem. Drove my truck into the shop at 7am a hour before they open. Sat there to be told sorry there was a mix up the part wont be there until next. Upset I didn't get a call I understood things happen... I leave was fine. Come back the next Thursday. Told the lady that my truck was no longer doing the issue but maybe yall can check to see why in the first place. Left my truck was told to come back before the end of the day. Get back that afternoon at 4pm Oct 23. I get there one of the employees is leaning on other customers cars. Just to be told my truck is not moving. I asked did you test the new part. Was told yes five times until I explained I was a service tech two. Drop the part let's examine it. Took the part off just to discover it was missing the tech board All New Parts come with. The owner Shawn apologized that I had to solve the problem. We laughed and he told me he was gonna discount me. Next day Oct 24th come back to pick my truck up the young man Mike said he was the only one to test drive it. While im test driving the truck my truck makes a low screech noise and starts driving erratically. We get back im talking to Shawn he then lies and said he test drove the truck. Im clearly upset because my vehicle was not doing this before they worked on it. He then offers a new transmission instead of addressing the issue. I said im going to try to get my truck home. He said he's going to order the part and we should have it done Tuesday. He'll call me to make sure I got home and Monday to let me know the part got there. None of that happened. Tuesday at 430 30 minutes before they close i got a call the part was there. I call them back just to be cursed out because I asked whats going on. This man has lost his passion for this job and will set you up to over charge you and replace the whole transmission when its not need but due to his actions its now required. He has stiff me with my truck in this state. I do not recommend. Also he had done this two four other customers who have filed with the BBB.
