Very satisfied with Alpine Foreign Repair. I got my Timing Belt and Water pump changed. The price quoted was the price charged. I wasn't able to drop off my car during regular shop hours they were able to accommodate for that and let me drop off my car and keys. I also was not able to pick up my car during normal operating hours as well and they took my payment over the phone and left they car out for me. They were very flexible and quick with the services. Went to get my Audi A4 2005 fixed up.

I have been bringing my Audi's to Alpine since I was 16 and had an '85 hatchback. 14 years and 2 Audi's later and I am still coming back. The service is great and the prices are unbeatable. I complained about a strange noise and they called to tell me that a hose had come undone and all they needed to do was hook it back in. I know of many places in the valley that would have told me that I needed a new hose but Alpine is honest and affordable. They are always quick to get me in and quick to get the repairs taken care of. As long as I own an Audi, I will be taking it to Alpine!

So after reading just about every shops reviews and then calling around and getting quotes I think I finally found a Great shop! Don’t believe the 1 stars on here. They’re probably other shops hating because this one is so good. I was able to get my car in quick and they were able to finish in 1 day. They replaced all 4 rotors and break pads and fixed the valve cover gasket and half moon for about 45-50% less than everyone else. I was so happy to see nothing but Audi’s parked in front of the shop when I dropped off my A4 Cabriolet. Other shops have to research how to do the job and guess how many hours it will be. These guys knew everything off hand and were very honest. They didn’t do what I asked knowing that I would be back to fix the real problem later. So have a little faith and trust their professional opinion. These guys are not customer service reps so don’t get turned off when they don’t greet you with smiles and hugs. They’re mechanics and good ones at that. They didn’t try to upsell me like every other shop, nor did they fish out how much I’d pay. I will never buy anyhing but an Audi and hope they are open for years to come.

I Have been in to this shop 3 times over the last 2 years. They worked on my Audi each time. They complete the work much cheaper than I anticipate. I check with the dealer each time and these guys are much more reasonable. I can make an appointment and everything is fixed on time and that day. If you are looking for a shop that really cares about its customers and its reputation, look no further. They have a small shop without the huge overhead and that definitely shows up in the pricing, especially if you have an Audi which by nature is not cheap to fix.

Edited 6/6/2021 I dropped my review down from 5 to 2 stars and I do this with regrets because I really loved Alpine BUT: About two months after a full check of my vehicle I started having battery issues. Because Alpine is operating at weird inconvenient bank hours right now I took it to Utah Imports. They came back and said that my alternator was near death and my battery was basically dead too. Further inspection showed that it looked as if I hadn’t had a proper oil change in years. This was shocking to me because I took it to Alpine regularly for service. I was shocked and now it all makes sense that they never told me anything about my car, I doubt they actually ever serviced it. *previous review before taking my car to another place that showed me the negligence of Alpine* This place is straightforward with no unnecessary discussion. I have never picked my car up and had them rattle off a list of things that maybe needed to be “fixed.” They are clear about serious issues and upfront with their estimates and pricing. They are way cheaper than the dealership with highly skilled and knowledgeable foreign car technicians. I’ve been going here for about two years now and I’ve never had any issues with Alpine.

I've been a customer of AFR for 15+ years, and they have been rock solid in every aspect of maintaining my Audi's and VW's. They get it right the first time, keep their promises and do GREAT work with a smile. Fair prices+great service=great value. Five Stars!

I had an oil leak on my Audi and knew this would be an expensive repair, based on the cost to replace the valve gaskets (which are plastic and tend to warp, along with being expensive to replace). Steve took my car right away and showed me where it was leaking. He replaced the crush washer and cleaned up the area under my car. No charge! I don't know how many mechanics actually take you under the lift to show you what was wrong, repair it quickly, clean it up, and then tell you, "There's NO CHARGE for this." Amazing and I'll definitely be back!

I’ve been going to these guys for years. I won’t take my car anywhere else. They are good honest people, yeah it might take a week to get your car in, but they are worth the wait.

Joe and his team are amazing. Not trying to screw you over. Super kind, professional and reasonable pricing. It’s worth a trip to SLC. They solved an issue two other places misdiagnosed. These guys know their trade and specialize in German cars. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🙏🏽 A true diamond in the rough.

Best place to take your Audi or VW. Especially a TDI. Fast fair honest and friendly. Prices are reasonable. They don’t do unnecessary services and will let you know what’s necessary and what can wait. Only negative is only open M-Th and only until 430.

I know nothing about cars, but the few times I’ve visited Alpine, they made me feel like I could trust them. This place is no frills and straight to the point. They replaced my radiator hose (causing coolant leak issues) for less than $200, which seemed like a pretty great deal based on online research. Good about communicating how much time something would take. Appreciated their no-stress service and will definitely be back for future issues for my little Jetta.

Would not recommend coming here for any vehicle needs, they created problems with my vehicle that did not exist until they started working on it. I initially brought my VW golf in for a brake check. Brakes were squeaking and not as reactive as they usually are. I was told they changed the front rotors and one brake pad. When I picked my vehicle up one week later, it was having the same issue. I brought it back and they had to redo the work they had said they did originally in addition to now needing to change the rear rotor and one brake pad. For this they did wave the labor fee. When I went to pick the vehicle up, the ABS/drive train light, airbag light, and tire pressure light were all on which had not been the case before I dropped it off. When I immediately brought it back, they said it was a completely different issue and it would be $350 to fix the new abs issue. I explained I had not had this issue until they worked on my car, however they would not take responsibility. Would highly discourage anyone from bringing their car here, they appeared to not know what they are doing with the initial repair they completed and to break more of my vehicle than they were able to fix.

Alpine is the only place I trust to work on my Audi A4. I have been bringing my car here for almost 10 years and they have always taken great care. They are honest, trustworthy, straight to the point and hard working. So grateful for the guys at Alpine!

Very pleased with these guys. I had troubles with my towing service getting the car to the shop for my appointment, and these guys worked with me regardless. They were faster than any other shop I've ever worked with about getting my job done. On top of that, my adaptive cruise control had never worked but they got it to work, even thought it wasn't even related to the issue I brought the car in for. Definitely earned my business again. Highly recommend.

Alpine is honest and knows what they are doing. I had a quote from another shop and was told I had a blown head gasket. I am beyond thankful for their knowledge, honesty, and integrity. Alpine figured out what was really going on and it saved me over $4000. I will never take my car anywhere else, again.

Great service and staff, appreciate the info and requirements shared by Joe. Thanks Matt for the great work, look forward to my next visit. After looking thru the other posts and comments, it's pretty obvious that most people are happy with their experience at Alpine but you can't please everyone - and most of the negative comments appear to be from those who are offended by mechanics who don't happen to be teddy bears; I might be reaching here, but I don't recall seeing any "Safe Spaces" in that little shop and if you want to be treated like pseudo-royalty (and pay the price) I suggest you drive on over to 999 S. State St! Und tschuus!

Joe is the man! When I was frustrated with my car repair bill from Strong Audi which is 10k, he born like a sun to my world. He repaired for 2.5K whatever needs to be done on the car. Strong told me there are some parts started to cracking and we have to replace them, Joe told me cracking means you can still use it at least for a year why you gonna change now? It’s not going to affect your drive or performance, there is still life with that parts. It was my first visit and now they are my repair guys. That’s how you earn people’s trust and business.

Highly recommend. Used these guys for first time recently. I was very impressed. They got my car in and finished it quickly. The final cost was half of what the dealership quoted me. Audi of Salt Lake wanted double! Feels good to support a small business with people trying to make an honest living.

Based on a recommendation from a neighbor, took our Q5 in for rear brakes. Quote was very reasonable. Pleasantly surprised when we picked up the vehicle. They had put on factory parts and came in under quote. 5 months in brakes still working great. no issues.
