You will not find a more experienced auto mechanic in the area. I’ve relied on Steve’s experience for the last 20 years and he has never left me stranded after fixing my vehicle. Except for that one time on Gambrel Mountain when I blew out the front dif on my Chevy T10, but in his defense I didn’t have cell service.

EDIT (in response to company reply below): - Forgive me for only initially giving a rating, rather than a review. I’m curious how exactly you ‘checked all your records’ when I haven't posted any contact details, it was only a star-rating, you don’t think my last name is actually “Nunnayurbiznuss”, do you? What exactly did you ‘check’ for? It is true that the majority of my ratings on this forum are low, that’s because I feel that all businesses should strive to deliver their customers 5-star service. Good service should be expected as the norm rather than the exception, nothing ‘to write home about’. With this in mind, I have some advise; Take all the time you spent on discrediting your disappointed customers and creeping around their profiles, and making accusations, and spend that time ASKING them for constructive criticism, then use that information to improve your quality of service. Try that instead, it’s what legitimate businesses do.

Stephen very late at night rescued me from being stranded on the side of the road after my belts had gone bad and broke. Was more than willing to fix it and my car has ran perfect ever since. Highly recommend.

He has completely stopped returning my calls and texts. I would not recommend this shop for any service.

After AAA sent a company out to take care of a towing job. No special circumstances .It wouldn't start , flat tire , dirty .The first company (which I'm not going to name) came out said they couldn't drive their roll back on to my dirt and grass drive way because it would burst water lines lol .Not a chance , so I said pull it out with cable winch. They couldn't do that because of the angle lmao .All he would of had to do was just back the truck up straight behind .Another excuse or two and I said ok I'll call someone who can .I've plenty of experience so I knew the guy was just lazy .Anyways American Auto repair and towing had the car out the yard and started no less. I didn't even think it would start , but while first company didn5 even try American had it running , then hooked up and gone .Start to finish maybe 15 minutes .Driver polite , and didn't loaf .I reccomend American Auto repair and towing to everyone ! Thank you American ! 👍👌✌

Where do i start .... This company has great towing .!!!!!! . But working on my car no way .. And when i got to the shop to get my car no one was there. In the office waited an hour they opened up an hour adfer they told me ...... working on cars i think if you have a simple easy fix they can do it .. But NOT good on communication i got fed up with my car there for 4 days and over the weekend .. Went to get it towed they charged me 2 times and didnt tow my car to the shop i wanted it at. I had to call again cause they were not wanting to tell me that they had to charge me again .. When the car got to the new shop the new shop they called me and said that american left everything dismantled ..just a mess can i back charge for leaving my car disassembled smh .. Just a tow company that wants to make extra on working on cars

AJ the tow truck driver was very competent and fast. He was putting our car on the trailer at the Greyhound Bus Station when a bus pulled in just inches from us and he was able to get us out quickly and even brought us to our doorstep. It made the day better at that point. We made it home in time for a special night. Thanks AJ!!

5 stars is not enough for this company. Thank you, thank you, thank you. From Tara who answered my call to Matt who rescued us, we thank you! My husbands truck shut off in the middle of driving down I-275 around lunch time today right before the Skyway Bridge. I called Tara and explained what happened and where we were. She told me her guy was 30 minutes out, and he would be there. 30 minutes later he was there. That he was I seen the red truck coming towards the bridge. Thank you Lord, someone was coming to help us. Matt pulled up, hooked it up and we were on our way. One thing for sure needs to be noted. These guys and girls who do this risk there lives, to save ours on the side of the road. People need to learn to move over into the other lane. Cars, trucks and semis were inches from hitting Matt and all the vehicles. This was a very scary situation. I pray a hedge of protection around all these drivers. Matt and Tara, thank you both as well as American Auto Repair & Towing Recovery for turning this crappy day into a safe one. Very much appreciated. I will definitely be calling you guys again, (hopefully not for another break down) but if we do and were in the area, your the ones who I'm calling. Thank you again, be safe and God Bless.

I have been in the car business for over 15 years and this is literally my first time writing a review on a bad mechanic. It was that bad!! I'm not exaggerating... my truck sat in the exact same spot for two weeks. She kept telling me "they're running behind and we'll look at it as soon as we can". I was very patient and I 100% understand that shops get busy and things happen but all I wanted was some type of diagnostics! Again the truck sat there for two weeks. I called every morning asking for an update and all she told me was "he's doing the best he can". Unacceptable i'm sorry... I understand it was during Christmas time but the truck was there 1 week before Christmas and 1 week after Christmas without being moved which is mind-blowing. I showed up one morning drove off with the truck... took it to another shop and it was fixed within 24 hours. Please do not waste your time here. This is literally the worst shop I have ever step foot in. 5 thumbs down

my girlfriend broke down while delivering for Amazon 50 miles away from home. AAA dispatched American after the rep from AAA determined that the alternator was bad. They gave her an ETA of 4:30 for arrival. I decided to head down from Tampa as soon as I was able to leave work, arrived at 5:45 and of course she was still stranded and the tow truck wasn’t even in route. She called AAA and they recommended leaving the car there because she had to get home for a 5 year old. They finally picked up the car up at about 1:30 AM and when they delivered the car at 2:30 they couldn’t get in the gate and took the car back. When they finally brought it back the next day they charged over $250 before they would drop the car. She has towing through AAA but since they took it back and had to deliver car the next day they charged. This would have never happened if they would have followed the original dispatch time. She set for 3 1/2 hours waiting before I was able to get there.

I needed a tow after the keys to my rental car were stolen. AAA recommended this place. That already says something about them! Two days later I needed the same rental car towed back to the airport so I called them. Each time my call was escalated to a priority and handled with the utmost in customer service. Car breakdowns can be stressful! They were all so kind and thoughtful about my dilemma. Highly recommend this little place. My wife broke down at 830 pm on her way home from work in St Pete, we live in Manatee county . We called AAA and they sent this towing service to respond. I am so glad they did. What we thought was a dead battery turned out to be much more. Robby the employee who came to jump our vehicle stayed with us in the event it had to be towed. He was very courteous , patient and very helpful in helping me get the vehicle home. If it was not for his genuine concern and work ethic we would had to tow the vehicle several times. I could not be more happy with the friendly and professional Auto repair service received. Lets face it. it's a real bummer when your car stops working and needs repair. Parts can cost as much as labor if not more so it's important to understand this has I had to. My car runs better now then it ever has. I was very happy with the service here. The owner stayed well after closing to fix the regulator arm on my driver's side window, and at a cost that was less than I anticipated. He even scanned my car, without charging me when I told him the check engine recently came on. I already have plans to bring my van back for some other needed work. This is the first time I have been here, but he seems very honest and is reasonably priced. I would definitely give this place a try if your car is acting up.

Nothing worse than getting a call from one of your kids that their car is broken down and they need help. Called American Auto Repair and Towing on a friends recommendation and I am glad that I did. Not only did they tow the car and insure that my son was safely off of the road, bt they quickly diagnosed the problem and had the car back on the road the very next day. I have used the services of this shop several times since then and I have never been disappointed, and more importantly the repairs have been permanently fixed the first time with no additional charges. Steve has been a blessing and the communication and service by Tara in the office is top notch! Thanks again for everything.
