I’ve had the pleasure of working Kevin and the Apex Tuning team over the past year through Audi Club Carolina events as they’re a big sponsor. Through one event, Kevin’s team installed an APR Stage 1 on my 2018 Audi Q5 last year and the performance has been very noticeable and a whole lot more fun to drive. One of my favorite events that Apex Tuning does is a Toy’s for Tot’s event in December and it grows every year with participation and donations of toys. Got my car worked on here a while ago (close to 2yrs), and every major service has held up exceptionally. They put in a new clutch for me, and it's been great since, they also put in a new turbo on my TDI, and that's been great too. The car has been exceptionally reliable since then, and I haven't had to do anything underneath it besides oil changes. One weird thing though is that whenever I replaced my turbo piping earlier today, I noticed all of the hose clips were weirdly sideways, like they had lined up the bottom part of the band and not bothered to line up the top part. There was double imprints on the rubber hoses from the original location, and then the sideways one. (And I haven't worked on anything since it was sent there) The car feels astoundingly more responsive than when I got it back from them a few years ago, and part of me wonders if it's cause the clamp coming off the turbo wasn't holding the hose on all the way. Either that or the old piping may have had a hole somewhere. I'm unsure. Anyways, great service. Everything has held up great nearly 2 years later. Only rating 4 stars because of how hard it is to contact them about a new appointment I wanted to make. I understand being busy, but I really just want to talk to a human.

I have had German Sports Cars for decades, including several high end BMWs and more recently Porsches (currently 911 Carrera GTS). My daughter's car ( 2017 GTI SE manual) which was serviced at the local VW dealer threw a check engine light. Spark plug electrode broke and scored a cylinder. VW service advisor was honest enough to suggest we don't do the engine replacement there. Took it to another highly rated indy in Raleigh and they just quoted the long block and nothing else. Took it to Apex Tuning and they suggested that since the car had 65K miles and the engine was out to go ahead and do a full transmission service (clutch, flywheel, limited slip fluid). This impressed me since they really thought about the well being of the car. Highly recommended. Fair pricing and great customer care. One of the best indy's I have ever dealt with (other being the local Porsche indy, European Performance).

Apex tuning absolutely killed it! I was recommended this place from Yeargan’s Top Notch Auto in Carrboro to get a new exhaust on my 2024 Tiguan. I will keep this brief. I own an auto garage in Raleigh and I still take my TDI to these guys to have the work done. And especially the tuning. These guys have forgotten more about VW, Audi and Porsche than I will ever know. And the owner Kevin is incredibly well versed with them. I would recommend anyone with one of those makes to swing by.
