I was having acceleration trouble with my 1999 Dodge Ram. I dropped my truck off with Tony the mechanic and within a short time he identified the problem and contacted me. He made the repair and my truck has had no issues since. He performed quality work at a very fair price.

I've used Tony multiple times, with a Honda and a VW. He is consistently the best mechanic I have had the pleasure to come across. His labor costs are fair and he doesn't inflate parts costs. And where other places will replace whole systems when only one part is necessary, Tony is honest with what needs to be done. In my experience Tony is more affordable and outperforms (specifically for my experience)Walmart, firestone, and Lamb's. He has saved my literally thousands of dollars. Worth a call in my book.

I was told by another shop that my AC condenser needed to be replaced, but the repair was too much for me to afford at the time. On a friend's recommendation, I took my car to Tony, and it turned out that the Freon needed to be charged. That was 5 months ago, and the AC is still blowing cold. Tony saved me alot of money, and was one of the first honest shops I've found. I'll be bringing all of my vehicles here!!

I was told I needed to change the alternator on my car so I went and bought the part at O'Reilly's for a total of $140. Every car shop I stopped at refused to take a look at my car because I didn't buy the with them until I came across Arboretum Auto Services. The experience was great. Tony was willing to use the part I bought and take a look at my car only charging me for the labor. He took a look at my car and it turned out my alternator was good, it was my battery that wasn't connected properly. He saved me the $140 from the alternator and only charged me $30. I would definitely recommend you checkout this shop if you're having car issues. Honesty is their moto .

Tony and his mechanic's did a great job. I had a blown head gasket in my engine and a transmission leak, they showed me the service every step of the way and replaced the engine and all the auto parts that were needed correctly. While Tony was showing me the underside of my car I saw I had broken and leaking shocks, so I had him replace all of them at that time, there was no delay to the service for the added work I had him do. They are great mechanic's

I personally have not taken my vehicle to Arboretum Auto Service, for the reason that my car is running great. But to be reading native stuff about Tony, kinda of bothered me. I have met Tony a couple of times when friends of mine have had their car service by Tony. I can tell you this. Tony is a very honest and respectful person. He will help you out on whatever is wrong with your vehicle. Great mechanic who knows his stuff and will save you money at the same time. I know for sure one the time comes for repairs to my car. Tony will be the man.

I've been and still a customer at Arboretum Auto Service for over 10 years. Tony was the person who maintained all of my family's vehicles including a 2004 Tacoma. From easy work like oil change to changing clutch, timing belt, oxygen sensors and so on. Never had any issues and never been stranded in my vehicles. I read some reviews about over charging, but all I can say is that Tony is the most trustworthy Mechanic I've known. In fact his prices are away less than dealerships and he gets more done as well. Thank you Tony!

I have no idea where these negative reviews for Arboretum Auto came from... I've been taking my cars to Tony for 7+ years and have NEVER had a bad experience. Tony is extremely friendly and cares about his customers. I can honestly say that the service and treatment I've received from Arboretum Auto is nothing short of phenomenal. Tony has always been honest and straight forward with me, never trying to BS me into paying more money. On top of being very affordable, the quality of work done by Tony has always been excellent. Tony is a very friendly guy who sincerely cares about his customers. Great work Tony/Arboretum Auto! By the way, I wanted to share a quick story about Tony. One time my dad had to drop off his car after work (was going to leave it overnight to get worked on in the morning) and was going to have to wait about half an hour for a ride home. When Tony found out that my dad was planning to wait for a ride, he volunteered to drive my dad home (and did).

I grew up in the family junkyard and heard the horror stories about some of the big chain oil change shops from employees who worked there so I'm always a little on guard, but Tony is very good. He goes out of his way to treat you right and look for the least expensive way to fix something instead of looking for the most stuff he can sell. And he actually knows how to FIX things and not just change parts. I trust him with my old beat up Tahoe and my nice sports car and everything in between. He's got decades of experience and does the right thing.

Highly highly recommend this place of service. If you're unsure about where to go to service your car...definitely go here. My car decided to break down while I was on the road, so I had turned into this plaza where, luckily, this auto shop was in. I had never heard of this place, but I went in and met this great guy named Tony, where I explained my situation. I was thoroughly impressed by his knowledge, skill, and character as he inspected my car and soon knew what the issue was. My car's engine was the problem, and Tony explained how much it would cost to fix it and talked to me about other options. He gave me a very fair quote that was as low as he could make it. However, the story doesn't end there as I had a flight for work the next morning and wouldn't be back until a week later. I was put in a difficult situation but they allowed me to keep my car at their service for the week until I was back and when I offered to pay for that time they simply told me not to worry about it. I sincerely appreciate their kindness and left with a good experience. Again, I share that they have some great people with both skills and character here. I highly recommend you go to check them out.

Scammer beware. I brought my car to Arboretum Auto Service because on the phone the owner said he could give me a free diagnosis if I fix the car with them, I explained to him I have scanned the obd reader myself and could not find any error codes with the car he said his scanner is different and can find the error message. All is fine at this point so we take the car in and leave it for about 4 hours, after four hours we call to see if the car has been diagnosed, the owner says they have diagnosed it and it will be $450 to repair and this includes a $125 diagnostic, when I arrive at the shop I ask the owner what is wrong with the car, he explains its an electrical issue with my intake valve on a 2016 hyundai sonata, he explains he has to charge $150 diagnostic for the time they spent to find the issue (yes already $25 more than what was said on the phone and $150 more than the original claim of free diagnosis) I tell him ok that is fine I will pay the diagnostic fee if he can tell me what work they will do, what part they will replace, what part they will clean etc, Owner acted as if they would perform magic on the car and could not tell me in specifics what they would be doing to the car so I refused to pay until I was told what would be done in specifics. The owner began to yell and claimed he does not like "customers like you" which I'm assuming is a customer that asks questions and is not gullible. He told me to take my keys and my car and to never come back to which I gladly complied with. This shop seems to be wanting to take advantage of people that don't know any better, there are far more better mechanics in the Austin area. Do not fall for the "great price" "cheap price" scammer language, ask questions and beware.

I've been a customer since 1996. In that time I have had a Toyota and 3 different mercedes (560SEL, 300E, and currently SL550). I know and understand cars, and I am very picky about how it's repaired. Over the past 2 decades I can not remember a time that I was dissatisfied with the work Tony did on my cars. I have found his prices to be more than reasonable and at times close to half of what the dealer wanted. His diagnoses have always been spot on. I usually do not write reviews, but by chance came across his review page and saw 1 bad review. So I decided to put my two cents in. It's important to note that there are individuals out there that will write bad reviews and later call the company with an offer to take care of any bad reviews for a fee. they call it a service, but we all know it's blackmail. I don't know if that's the case here, but I have personally experienced it in my business.

I have been going to Tony for 10 years now. Best mechanic I found in Austin when I moved here. He is honest to the core which is hard to find in an auto mechanic, especially the franchise type locations. Great work, shoots you straight and won't try to sell you something you don't need.

Tony was exceptional. He went through my car bumper to bumper, after I had 2 other shops tell me I needed things I did not need. He was honest, his prices were better than fair. My car runs like a dream, he pointed out a couple of things (alignment) and tires of course and gave me a name to take it. I will be back, over and over when I need a mechanic. He is very pleasant to work with, and does a great, fast job. I highly recommend Tony! Thank you sir

Honest work fair pricing. Brought in car, turns out a different shop didn’t put the wheels on all the way after replacing the brake pads. Tony repaired the wheel studs the same day (on a Saturday) and stayed late for us to pick up the car.
