We always bring my daughter's 2014 Honda Civic to Atlas Auto Techs. Everyone working there is friendly and professional. They can usually get us in with short notice and keep us updated on what is needed, most recently a DRL code and an exploded bulb. We've also gone there for oil changes, tire rotations, flushes, and new battery. Service is consistently excellent and prices are so reasonable. They send emails for upcoming maintenance which is helpful.

In June my truck was shuddering on acceleration so I took it to this business to get it fixed. They charged me 70 bucks for diagnostics and told me it was the transmission and that I should go to the dealer to get it looked at. It would have 159 dollars to just walk in the door at the dealership, much less replace the transmission. I thought better of it and took it to a local transmission shop and they correctly diagnosed the problem as a worn out U joint on the back half of the truck. So I go back to Atlas to ask if they stand by their work since they were so incredibly wrong about what was going on with my truck. The guy at the desk, Tony, wouldn't stand by it and literally told me that "I didn't put a gun to your head and tell you to go to the dealer" and that they made an "educated guess." Apparently they need more education because they didn't even guess the correct half of the truck, much less what was actually wrong with it. I was shocked at how rude this guy Tony was to a repeat customer. I have been taking my vehicles to Atlas for 20 years since it was Dubois Auto Clinic and have referred a number of family, friends and co-workers there in that time and this is how they treat me. Well I'm done taking my vehicles there for good, especially since the people I took my truck to after Atlas were super courteous, reasonably priced and knew what they were doing. Unless you like terrible customer service and no reasonable assurance that you get the correct repairs, I suggest you stay FAR away from this place.

I first came to Atlas about 2 years ago, seeking an alternative to a large dealership; and I have been pleased with the quality of both the technical/professional and the human services they provide. My recent appointment was easy to schedule; and I received service in 2 working days (they would have scheduled my service for an earlier date, but I had intervening appointments). The routine maintenance and inspection services I requested of Atlas were provided rapidly, were of of good quality, and were provided at a good price. The more specialized, non-routine, services I have requested in the past have also been handled competently. The front desk (Tony) is professional, concerned to do things right, and has gone beyond everyday scheduling and automotive Q-and-A to do a certain amount of research and trouble-shooting for me (during our face-to-face conversations and over the phone when I have had occasion to call). The lead-tech(s) and the service-tech(s) with whom I have spoken at Atlas have also been professional and responsible. Again, I first came to Atlas 2 years ago, seeking an alternative to a large dealership; and, I have been pleased with the quality of both the technical/professional, and the person-to-person service they provide.

New residents in Madison--three weeks here and my car dies! I guess we should be glad we made it from Chicago! I don't know what the story is with crummy reviews in another site, but I have to say that those reviews didn't match my experience at ALL! The owner, Mike, took care of us with the straight dope on a mystery problem with my 20 year old Forester, and it was ready when promised and for a price that made sense. Meanwhile, look for our old plate amongst Mike's wonderful collection of lisence plates. Clean shop, great manners, and NO cheesy pin-ups in the shop. We have a mechanic in our new hometown! THANKS!

Throughout my experience, Atlas Auto has gone out of their way to make sure I've been well-informed. They gave the most thorough diagnosis I've seen in writing so I could reference it, there has been someone to pick up the phone every time I've called, and test drove my vehicle (without an appointment) when I initially had concerns just to make sure my car was safe to drive. The owner, Mike, helped put my bike in my car when I first came to pick it up after the diagnostic, too. I haven't experienced the feeling of so much trust in an auto shop before even having my car serviced. Be sure to consider them next for your auto needs! Thank you, Atlas!

These guys are honest and kind mechanics -- the kind you hope to luck out on. I came in for a safety inspection, and a couple of things I've noticed -- squeaky belts and "time" for an oil change according to the date. They did a full inspection, replaced 2 cracked and old belts, and suggested waiting on the oil change since I had more miles to go and it looked clean. With an old car, I'm glad to find a place I can trust. They seem very trusting of their customers also, offering several options for payment and contactless pickup if desired. I'll be taking my car here from now on!

Atlas Auto Center has been my go-to place for several years, and Tony and Mike always take great care of me. They are straightforward, honest, and always give me the best prices. I rely on them for oil changes, diagnostics, and all of my car-care needs. I recently got an excellent deal on tires, and they had everything done quickly and efficiently. They’re always happy to answer my questions and address any concerns, and they’ve even helped me out during a crisis—like the morning I discovered low tire pressure right before leaving at 8:00 a.m. for a trip to Chicago to catch a flight. They took care of it immediately, which was a huge relief. I also appreciate that, as a Volkswagen owner, not every auto center is willing or able to service my car—but in one situation, they were honest enough to refer me back to the dealership because of the cost and the wait for parts.
