I was referred to AutoTech by a neighbor after I was complaining about getting price gouged at a dealership for two cars of different models. AutoTech employees are professional, get the job done quickly and are honest. For example, the dealership wanted $1100 for 40k mile service and it was $300 at Auto Tech! These are the friendliest, most helpful automobile mechanics anywhere. My emissions kept falling and I suspect that it was due to carelessness on the dealers part. They would have charged me hundreds of dollars just to walk through the door. The reviews for Auto Tech were so positive that I took my car there instead . It turned out to be something so minor that they didn’t even have to do much, so they charged me nothing and even had my emissions retested so I have one less problem to worry about. The reviews are accurate.

Miscommunication and inaccurate assessment. I was told my oil change would be over $300 because it included a “full service,” which functioned as a paid inspection. This was after initially being told the inspection would be free with an oil change. The $200 charge was removed only after I raised concerns, as no services were ultimately performed and I was not informed of this charge during the phone call. When I dropped the car off, I signed paperwork that did not include any pricing quote, so I was not aware this additional charge was being applied. When I requested ball joint replacement, the shop declined, stating it would take too long. I was also told the vehicle alignment was fine, despite recent front control arm replacement. BMW service guidance requires alignment after this work. An alignment performed elsewhere two days later showed the vehicle was not within specification. I then took the car to another BMW independent shop, where the ball joints were replaced without issue and the technician noted the boots were torn and the joints needed replacement. Response to owner: Thank you for the detailed response. I want to clarify several factual points, as parts of your reply do not reflect what was communicated to me. • I was never quoted $597 for ball joint replacement. No price was discussed for that work at any point. I was told the ball joints were “fine” and later that replacing them would “take too long.” At no time was a dollar amount provided. • I was never told that customer-supplied parts could not be used. On the phone and at drop-off, I stated that I already had the ball joints with me. I did not state that I had attempted to replace them myself. I replaced my front control arms only and never attempted the lower ball joints. • Regarding alignment, I was explicitly told that my caster and toe were within limits and that I did not need an alignment. Your Google Maps listing states that alignments are performed. An alignment completed days later showed the vehicle was not within specification, which directly contradicts what I was told. • I understand you may not perform alignments in-house, but the statement that alignment was not needed was incorrect based on BMW service requirements following control arm replacement and the subsequent alignment report. • The paperwork I signed at drop-off did not contain pricing. I reviewed it before signing and no dollar amounts were listed. • I did decline the oil filter housing gasket repair. That portion of your response is accurate. • I ultimately paid a little over $100 for an oil change, which I agree is a fair price. My review was not about the oil change cost, but about inconsistent information, services declined without quotation, and inaccurate assessments. My review reflects my experience and the information I was given at the time. I am not disputing that an inspection occurred. I am clarifying that multiple statements in your response do not align with what was communicated to me or what was later objectively verified.

Let me just start off by saying that this shop takes pride in good customer service, they even drove me to my job when I dropped my car off. I thought that was pretty awesome and it took me by surprise since I've never been offered that anywhere else. Friendly, honest and patient staff is always worth noticing.
