I appreciate Pittsburgh Autoworx helping me out with a difficult situation! My son needed some work done on his VW Jetta, but only gets every other weekend off (12 days on, 2 off!), so scheduling car repairs is really challenging! I made a Saturday appointment, but when we arrived we found out the owner was very sick and not able to be there. I was worried we would have to postpone everything another 2 weeks, but Eddie and the other gentleman took care of our Jetta right away! We called the owner to get the pricing info, picked up the car a few hours later, all done! I’m really grateful for them helping us out, even when they were going through their own tough time!

They just want your money, didn’t even passed my inspection and wanted 1000$, don’t trust them. I passed the inspection in another place perfectly.

I will not go there again. They charge $125 per hour (just to take a look at your vehicle) and will intentionally keep you waiting or delay taking action, just to increase the cost. What should be a one-day job could easily turn into a week. They speak negatively about your vehicle and show no empathy for the customer’s feelings.

Quoted me $4500 for a busted water pump that was "pouring fluid out and car is undriveable" knew I was 80+ miles from home and tried to scam me. Against thier advice I added fluid and drove home with no issues, took to Flynn tires and home and was a $12 clamp, car has been perfect since. This place charged me $150 to check the car then either lied about what was wrong or are really bad at thier job.

They put a new head gasket on my R8. The price, service, and communication was top tier. They were transparent throughout the entire process. They never seemed annoyed when I called and asked for updates. I would recommend them, and will be using them again in the future.

Greg has worked on my Porsche once and my troublesome Range Rover numerous times. Not many people can sort these cars out efficiently and he knows his stuff.

I have come here for a routine check, a blown out tire, and an oil change issue. Every single time they have been nothing but accommodating and as efficient as possible, alongside reasonable pricing. If you need a reliable service center I would not suggest any other place but Autoworx.

Ray is your guy!! I don’t often write reviews . When I do it’s because I’m either impressed or distressed . Here- what can I say ! Impressed ! Ray shows up . He gets the job done ! He leaves you feeling your day is a little better. He gets all the stars !

Didn’t pass my state inspection because of my brakes. Then quoted me $537 for only rear rotors and $100 for an oil change, $61 for an air filter and $70 for a cabin air filter. Totally trying to take advantage. Took my car to another mechanic and it passed inspection with no issues. The mechanic drove my car and found ZERO issues with my brakes- in fact they are measuring at 4/32, which is passable in PA. Autoworx didn’t charge me for the state inspection so I couldn’t report them after I passed elsewhere. They know what they do is wrong.

I wouldn’t go here.. If you know then YOU know . This place pick and choose who they want to deal with for sure . They have 0 problems collecting a dollar but help only they want to . From walking in the door and the mechanic acting like he started the day miserable to the front office manager not paying attention to anything i told him. Sorry but not sorry you have to be a certain type to get service just being honest✅ thumbs down

Got into a pretty nice predicament today (Christmas), Tom came out to help. Not only was he great at communicating, he was friendly and offered more help than what other companies would do. Toms a great guy for working Christmas and deserves all the props.

Good folks, gave me fair pricing. Unfortunately my camshaft went so I had to total the car rather than replace the engine. They worked to find me a decently priced used engine before I made the decision to just call it. They are also working with me till I can get it towed despite having limited parking. Can't say enough good things about them.

As a woman, it’s not easy finding an auto shop where you feel respected and not taken advantage of. Autoworx in the Strip District changed that for me. From the moment I walked in, they treated me with kindness and honesty. They explained everything clearly, didn’t try to upsell me, and even got my car fixed the same day! If you want a shop that’s professional, trustworthy, and actually cares about their customers, Autoworx is it. I’ll definitely be back!

This is the short version because Google limits length. If you want the full detailed timeline and video, please read my review on Yelp. In October 2025, I went in for a state inspection that I was told would be $30. It ended up being $70. They then said my front brakes wouldn’t pass and quoted me $600 for “the best of the best” brakes and rotors. I agreed. Immediately after the job, my brakes started squeaking. Once they warm up, they squeak every single time I brake, and this has been going on for months. I returned multiple times. The mechanic heard it and said it needed to “break in.” It never did. Over the next few months, I dealt with constant back-and-forth between the mechanic and owner, missed calls, promises that my car would be looked at, and multiple visits where they claimed they couldn’t hear anything, even though it happened within seconds of driving and I provided videos. At one point, after hearing it, the mechanic laughed and said, “Oh, that little noise?” They eventually said they would “put something different on” but never followed up. It has now been over a month with no call back and no resolution. I’ve lived in five cities and used many mechanics. This has been, by far, the worst experience, inconsistent pricing, poor communication, broken promises, and a $600 brake job that still squeaks every day. I would not recommend this shop.

Garrett was truly a lifesaver. We were traveling to Pittsburgh from out of town when our check engine light came on and the car suddenly wasn’t accelerating normally. It was New Year’s Eve, with the shop closed the next day, and we were scared we wouldn’t be able to get home. Garrett got us in within the hour, ran diagnostics right away, and went above and beyond to make sure our car was fixed and safe to drive. Because of him, our family can make it home safely. We are forever grateful for his kindness and compassion. I would recommend this shop without hesitation to anyone. Truly outstanding service! We appreciate you so much!

The owner was the only one who could make it in to work due to the nasty snow storm we just had on 1/25/2025. I had to get an inspection and emission test done. He made time to fit me in. He was very professional as well a down to earth person. I would recommend this bussiness if your looking for a mechanic. Very fair and honest!

Solid shop, solid dude. I drive a VW and in true Pittsburgh form, in the middle of January had an unexpected flat tire. They were like 5min to closing and headed out the door but were nice enough to stick around to help me out. They checked out the flat tire and put the doughnut incredibly fast so I could make it home same day. They could have easily charged me a bunch or left me stranded but they really did take great care of me. True Pittsburgh people helping each other out, I will 100% be going back with both my VW and Audi, you vote with your dollar and they really came through for me when it counted!

I’ve been taking my VW Atlas to Greg for the last 3 years and have always had a great experience. The team can always accommodate my schedule and get the work done quickly. Fair prices and always gives you the option to opt in and out of any recommended services. Everyone is friendly and explain things well. I recommend Greg to anyone looking for reliable car work in the city.
