Got a customer for life!!! I recently had an oil leak that’s been giving me problems; I initially went to Mazda dealership down in Carlsbad where I got a diagnostic that took roughly 3-4 hours and costing $250. They then gave me a quote of around $6,250 to repair the leak; I felt like I had to get a second opinion, so i looked online and was reading some great reviews, I instantly took it in the next day and got a free inspection along with an out the door price of around $300 which included fixing the leak and getting an oil change. I say my favorite part of this experience was definitely they customer service, giving me instant updates that include pictures of what’s wrong and they perfect price to match, I definitely recommend and will be coming back!!!

They have great service, and their prices are fair. They always have taken good care of my car. I recently went to jiffy lube out of convenience just for an oil change. jiffy told me I needed new break pads and rotors. Which made no sense to me since my breaks looked okay to me and were not squeaking. But I took my car to b&d anyway since I can trust the mechanics there, just in case, and they checked everything topped off all my fluids. And got me back on the road. No new rotors needed or break pads.

My Tacoma's handling and stability is noticeably improved after they performed a Four Wheel Alignment. In the curves it grips the asphalt better, and it's laser strait on those straightaways. These next level of professional technicians fixed what a body shops alignment was taking away from my Tacoma's performance. The cost was lower than most shops absolutely. This a double review. 1st review is from 11/14/25. I first came in on 11/12/25 and talked to the owner about installing a chrome radio trim piece on my 2013 Toyota Avalon that I broke trying to do myself. I had bought the trim from Toyota ( no amazon). He said to come in on Friday 11/14/25 because his interior guy would be in that day. I brought it in and about 1 hr later it was done. The tech did exceptional work because there was no damage to the dash or any other trim. So Bravo and thank you. The 2nd review is from 1/19/26. I brought in the same vehicle a 13 Avalon for a Transmission drain and fill, oil change and check for a wind / helicopter noise from under the vehicle. At the write up I said I had my own Toyota transmission fluid and toyota oil filter but needed the Mobil 1 synthetic oil from them. I was appreciative that they let me bring my own fluid and oil filter. I discussed with the Advisor that the wind noise happens above 50mph but the sweet spot for the noise was 63-68mph and it's very noticeable like a grumble/helicopter type noise. The advisor said they generally don't chase wind noise but said they would drive it and try to verify and when vehicle is on the rack they would take a look and see if they could see any obvious loose or damaged parts. I told him that the noise was there before the pass front door was damaged. He said no problem. I was texted the next day stating the the vehicle was done and ready for pick up. My wife and I went to pick it up and when we came in we said we are here to get the Avalon, another advisor said "let's go and look at the pass front door" when i told him the noise was there prior to the door damage, there was about a 3 second pause and I knew immediately that there was lost communication from write up to the tech because the noise was there before the door damage as I stated at write up. Back Story : two years ago we had the front driver's and pass doors replaced ( Toyota OEM doors) due to some damage, your probably asking why didn't I take it back to the body shop, well we were in the process of moving from Colorado to Vista and didn't have time to take it back. He said he did drive it and he did there was 19.3 miles on trip A so I know it was driven. He (Advisor) said the only thing he heard was a "low pitch whistle noise". The RO does not mentioned a whistle noise it said " check for wind noise at 63-68 low rumble" So my guess is that the vehicle was driven and could not verify noise and then the tech recieved the vehicle and completed the Transmission service and oil change and he probably didn't look for any loose or damaged parts under the vehicle - its not the techs fault because he more than likely got it after the test drive by the advisor and was probably told they could not hear anything and then proceeded to do the services. When we left we went down (76) and the noise was immediately there. I understand they are NOT a body shop, I was just asking to try to veify the noise and if they saw something that was obvious and they could fix it then great and if they couldn't then I would go to a body shop and have them fix or look at what they thought could be the issue. I dont want you to think I am Bashing them because I am NOT!!! I just retired from 35 years of being in the Automotive service industry from and Advisor and then a Service Mgr so I know how things go. I understand wind noises are problem child repairs and techs and shops don't like chasing them. It's not my place to tell them how to run THEIR shop and what to work on and that's not what this is about. Its about communication and I feel it fell short. I am giving them 5 STARS because they did the services I asked for. For me anything other than a 5 is a fail and they did not fail. With all the reviews and a 4.9 rating they are doing something right. I hope they will still let me bring our vehicles in for future servicing and if they don't I 100% understand. Kind Regards, Scott

Outstanding service! Took my 07 Toyota FJ cruiser for a diagnostic prior to getting a SMOG test. They used their scan tool, explained what is needed to pass and sent me on my way free of charge! I failed a SMOG test a couple weeks ago, turns out it was a lose O2 sensor which caused the check engine light. I was unaware that a check engine light is an auto fail for SMOG. The testers told me that after they charged me for the test... but i am good to go now thanks to B & D auto repair and service!

I have been using these guys at least 20 years. They get the diagnosis right. They honor warranty if needed, without complaint. They know what they are doing. Super trustworthy. If they find some other problem they will let you know, but no high pressure. They will advise, and give you the info you need to weigh your own decision. Quality and your own safety is at the top of their list. You can’t go wrong using B&D.

Amazing people and excellent service! This was my first time bringing my car here and everyone I interacted with was real friendly and professional. As a female, I get nervous going by myself to new mechanics and have usually resorted to paying high prices at the dealership for service; however, I decided to give B&D Auto a try after seeing all the great reviews! I highly recommend this auto shop!! From start to finish Devon & Henry were very transparent and had great communication also Doug took great care of my truck making sure everything was dialed upon finish, the guys changed my water pump/ idler pulley/ pulley assembly/ pulley tensioner & serpentine belt.. also pricing was realistic & wasn’t too absurd plus the turn around time is extremely quick seeing it was my personal work truck time actually matters!! Thabk you for time looked at my broken down Mariner. You could've gave me the runaround and charged me for whatever then said the car was not work saving. Upfront let me know it's not worth it, then yally didnt give me teouble when I had to leave it a couple days to get it towed out. This is a wonderful place for car care and highly recommend them for your car needs. We have brought our 2000 Chevy Suburban here twice. The first visit was for the repair of the rear passenger window that would no longer go up or down. The most recent visit was for an alignment. From first contact via phone call, Doug was patient, kind, and a good listener. Upon arrival, everyone at the front desk treated us kindly and treated everyone before and after us with great respect. The pricing offered to us were spot on from what was discussed over the phone call. It was also very clear that other clients felt comfortable and happy with their services. I would recommend getting to the shop before or at opening. There was a line when we arrived at opening but the wait to the front desk was very short. If you’re looking for car care this is the place to go. B & D Auto Repair Service will be our go to auto repair shop! Thank you, B & D!
