Warning: How This Auto Shop Misleads Customers Here’s my experience: 1. Unasked “Inspection” – I came in for one repair (emergency brake). Right away, without asking, they started a “full check-up” on my car at no extra charge. 2. Inflated Problems – They listed several “urgent” issues I never complained about (tie rods, stabilizer links, brakes, alignment, etc.), claiming that if I didn’t fix them immediately, my car would be unsafe. 3. High Charges – Once I agreed, I paid a total of $1,350. 4. Unsafe Result – After the repair, my car still had serious problems. It could not turn left properly, even though it worked normally before the visit. I drive this car daily to work without any steering issues, so this problem clearly appeared after the shop’s work. 5. Attempted Extra Charges – When I returned, instead of fixing the original problem, the shop claimed a “new problem” and requested additional payment ($400) under the pretext of “waiving labor costs.” ⚠️ Advice: This appears to be a bait-and-trap tactic. The repairs did not fully resolve the issues, and extra costs were requested. Get a second opinion before paying large sums.

I brought my car for a flat tire fix but I was not happy with their service. First of all, while they were trying to locate the small hole on my tire, I didn’t feel confident they were proficient on what they were doing. Once they located and patched the hole, they left a large amount of excess tire patch (plug) - over 1 inch - hanging outside the tire so now it looks like I ran over a huge piece of gum. Very sloppy work. I would not feel comfortable bringing my car for something more serious. EDIT: The response from the owner below doesn’t make sense at all. My tire had a very SMALL nail (see picture) on the center of the thread so there was no need or mention of replacing the tire. They did have to waste 2 tire plugs since they messed up the first one.

Bayonne Auto Tech is fantastic! They are fair and honest with their prices. You can tell Julio and his team really care about their clients. My 2013 GMC Terrain had several issues; engine, electric, and more and they resolved all of them. I know I'll be coming back for future car care and for my inspections. Only auto mechanic I've ever felt comfortable bringing a car too where I don't feel like I'm getting scammed.

Julio, Bayonne Auto Tech owner, Mechanic and his entire mechanic crew particularly wanted to mention also Justin are exceptionally highly skilled, crafty, and knowledgeable of their work. I also wanted to express my gratitude of how above and beyond Julio and his crew went out of their way delivering outstanding customer service like no other local mechanic business we’ve ever worked with before that compares to Bayonne Auto Tech. For example, Julio offered to provide 5 plus hours out of his own time to fix an electrical issue with my RAV 4 auto start system and resolved it all, graciously and skillfully, whereas, majority of other local mechanics would charge clients an extra diagnostic or additional hourly labor rates! Not Julio. He chose to do this out of his own humble honesty, integrity and simply just doing the right thing! I don’t know how to thank you enough, Julio (and your team) for your exceptional service! Do know that my wife and I will be returning back for any future maintenance in our vehicles as well as referring others for their auto maintenance needs! Thank you 100-fold, Julio!

Recently got a car and needed an inspection. Before Julio put it in the computer he scanned it with his scanner and warned me it wouldn't pass, so I wouldn't waste my money. Advised me to drive it around and lo and behold I got a check engine light. What a great guy! I went back right away and and they were able to diagnose my car within a couple of hours, get the parts within a day, and even fix the problem that same day. My car was a bit of an issue to get the monitors read but after a lot of driving we got them to read and he passed me right away! This is a great group of mechanics, definitely would recommend them and I will be sure to come back. The prices are good as well. Mind you, I'm in college!

I brought my car to Julio because it was intermittently failing to start. Sometimes it would choke when turning over, and other times it wouldn't start at all unless I waited several minutes. As a realtor, I rely heavily on my vehicle, and this issue was urgent especially with a snowstorm approaching while I was out of state in Florida. Julio quoted me $3,800, but said he would charge $2,800 if 1 paid cash. I paid him in full. When I returned from Florida and picked up my car Monday morning before work, the exact same issue happened again less than an hour later. I immediately brought the car back, which caused me to miss work. Over the next four days, I experienced extremely poor communication and customer service. I was then charged an additional $1,260, bringing the total to over $4,000, despite the original problem never being resolved. During this time, Julio forgot to order parts, Blamed Mercedes for delivery delays that were his responsibility Completed only part of the work he originally quoted, later denied ever quoting $3,800 or offering a $2,800 cash price The lack of accountability, shifting explanations, and failure to resolve the original issue made it clear that he was not trustworthy. Update to your reply! Yes I did tell you and when I called you Monday morning I said “Julio it’s still doing the same thing and let you hear it and you replied “it wasn’t happening when I test drove it Natasha”. Also why listen to another Mechanic now when you charged me $125 for a diagnosis and check yourself also the other quote was for fuel injectors which you never fixed. You never ordered my parts from Mercedes because I just paid $1800 because my car completely stopped working and you actually put after market parts in my car. Also yes I did explain to you actually what my car was doing. You’re the most dishonest man I’ve ever done business with. Even to reply in caps is completely u professional.
