This place has gone down hill. Purchased a 6v battery for my 5 year project and the battery completely dead!. Battery has almost no water, for $150 maybe someone should check.

I shopped at Bill and Steve's way back when they were on Alondra in Bellflower and always had a good experience. When the store moved to Downey - I was out of the hobby for a while but I would periodically stop in and buy a few parts and chat with the employees if it wasn't busy. After Steve sold the business, I was back in town for a brief time and visited the store during the week in the middle of the day - I was the only customer in the store at the time. The new owner, Patrick, was very condescending - he was both 'too smart' and 'too busy' to engage in conversation about anything not of interest to him. He didn't seem to care about anything I was saying and talked over me at one point - that's when I decided that it was time to leave.

Patrick the owner closed down the place plain and simple he didn't know how to run the business. It's a shame Bill &Steve's was an icon in the VW world until Patrick ran down the place to the ground. What a shame..

We have three Volkswagens from 67-71 and this is our go to shop for almost everything. If they don't have it and they can't order it, they'll tell you where you can get it. Amazing customer service and extremely knowledgable.

PLEASE DON'T COME HERE! Like 2 weeks ago I came to Bill & Steve's to buy a gas gauge cost me $ 49.50, didn't work right away but I waited another full tank of gas to make sure wasn't working. Today I went to the shop to get a replace or refund, I explain to the guy what happen and he said that I need to buy another piece I don't know the name but goes inside the gas tank, So I did not get a replacement or a refund. THEY RIP YOU OFF YOUR MONEY, last time I come to this place. So Please Don't come to This Place

Years ago this was my go to place. I decided to use them again recently and was not happy with product, prices or service. I will not be using them again. Too many other places with much better product, prices and service.

I'm originally from the SFV, but after moving to Bakersfield over 20 years ago I've made the trek to Lakewood from time to time. I recently went there on a Saturday to pick up items to begin to repair my sister's 69 Beetle. l was greeted by Miguel. I had a long list of items. He listened and was extremely helpful. Patrick was also very helpful. As I was leaving with my goodies, Patrick gave me a coffee mug and small shopping bags with Bill and Steve's logo. No business is perfect, but they've stood the test of time for decades. It's my type of business to shop at. I've been in the VW business as well as an owner as well, and that's why I love the vibe of this place. Thank you guys! I will be back to shop soon.

Best place for VW owners. Classic bug and bus parts up the yinyang. All employees are very knowledgeable and help answer your questions. (I always have a lot) Open on Sundays, which is dope. Prices are reasonable for the quality. Thank you for existing!

Patrick enjoys sticking it to the customer when he can So sad it was a great business when Steve ran it. No customer respect any longer. Hope they are able to stay in business. I get better service and prices from others off the internet. Haven't been back in over a year. Have bought over $2,000 on line so far and never have had a problem Do yourself a favor and support businesses that value their customers

Very helpful with father and son project. We did a full strip down of a 1973 standard beetle to just the shell and replaced everything from the wiring, built a new dual carb 1776, add 4 wheel disc brakes, transmission, interior, paint, etc. Now, he drives it to work and school and love it. Thanks for all the help.
