I've been going to Blamer for years. John's fast, dependable, and honest, and the prices are always reasonable. You won't find a better auto repair/maintenance shop!

Blamer's is a family owned auto shop that does good work and does not aim to rip you off. I used to live in Wauwatosa and a friend recommended this shop. Even after I have moved some 25 minutes away I still drive the extra time. They do take a lot of time to get to cars because of their attention to detail and customer service so if you only have a short window of time and/or a simple problem you may be better off taking your car to an auto-zone or a quicker place. If you have some time, like a day to drop it off an leave it, then they will do whatever you need, call you before doing any repairs, and really do their best to save you money. Their assessments have been accurate for me when I have checked prices against other places for labor and parts. One time when i was really strapped for cash they even managed to knock some money off a bill. I couldn't tell you how. Summary: Good service, good people, but they take a real long time.

This shop was recommended by a friend, and I also recommend it without hesitation. I was extremely happy with the quality of work, the friendly service, and the price (at least $500 less than my dealer wanted for front and rear brakes).

Live in the neighborhood so we went looking for a new mechanic. John Blamer is great. Honest, experienced, and fair. I won't take my car anywhere else as long as we live nearby!

We've always had good service with Blamer's. Cost was even a little less than other places. We also like to support Small businesses. You get better service and actually get to talk to the person in charge!

I've been using Blamer's as my "go to" place for my car for a while now. They always do a great job and the price is competitive. They also explain the problem/s so that I can understand what's wrong. Thanks guys!

Jon put in a timing chain in my Toyota. A year and a 1/2 later it failed and my car lost all compression. Won’t move. Another mechanic diagnosed the problem as a broken timing chain. Called Jon to ask what he could do and why a 2003 Toyota with 150,000 miles and with the original owner would have the timing chain brake after it was fixed by him??????? After having an almost full engine repair by this guy and then say to me “It will another $900 to have us fix it again???” Really, you didn’t fix it the first time properly, u took $900 from me and u won’t even give me a discount to get it fixed again.....???? Not a very good mechanic clearly! This guy has been in biz for over 20 years but only 8 reviews?? IT was his dads place before it was his and he was a really honest good guy! His son who runs it now doesn’t feel like a discount on a repeat service is warranted. Not a very good place in my opinion. BB will be getting a complaint.

I had never been to Blamer before and needed a screw removed from my tire on a busy Saturday morning, with less than 2 hours before they closed at noon. Blamer fit me in quickly - I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. John & team were friendly, fair & helpful. Highly recommend.

Family owned shop. Owner John Blamer goes out of his way to fix your car and be accommodating. We've been taking our Honda vans there since moving to the area 8 years ago and he has always been straightforward and honest. And I've never had a problem with their repairs or cost. I can't recommend this shop highly enough.

I’ve taken two cars to Blamers for repairs. Our van needed a lot of work done and needed an honest and fair mechanic. The van was bought from used car salesman and mechanic Greg Gensch if A Auto Sales and within two months if purchasing there were problems that kept arising. I was taken advantage of and things that were fixed broke again within months. Thankfully I decided to take the van to Blamers for the repairs that supposedly had been done already by Greg. Jon at Blamers was honest and fair and told me straight. The van needed new front struts and sway bar links (which I already paid Greg at A Auto Sales to do about four months prior), alignment, tire repairs and we got an oil change as well. The van hasn’t had issues since then and grateful we have a great, trustworthy mechanic right up the road from our house. I’ll be taking my cars there any repairs in the future.

John and his team are remarkably skilled. In 2021 my 2006 Honda Pilot was on the Fritz and needed a new motor. The team proactively procured a new replacement engine and promptly brought it in from KY. They then diligently worked and successful installed the motor, which salvaged the vehicle and saved me an immense amount, financially. My family in Tosa values Blamers services greatly, as they always efficiently fix problems, and he communicates very thoroughly to ensure customers understand their maintenance/repair options. John annually sends us chocolates on the Holidays to thank us for using his services. It’s difficult to go to another mechanic with all the help that Blamers has provided me, and my family. 10/10 the entire team is very transparent, ethical, and helpful.

I have been using Blamer's for over ten years. Even after I moved to Franklin, I still seek John's advice on any major repair. Firstly, he's honest. Can't beat that in a car repair service. Second, he does good work. Never had a complaint. Lastly, while their price may not be the lowest in town, it is always competitive. Good quality, good service, reasonable price - can't beat that.

I was on vacation with family when our power steering went out. Blamer was recommended by a gentleman at Orielly's. John and his staff were friendly and helpful. He had our vehicle fixed within 24 hours of calling him, he saved our vacation! Fair price, great reliable service and friendly staff.

I had the drivers side door handle repaired on my car. Not only was I surprised that they would repair it, I was surprised that the cost to repair was very reasonable. Blamers Auto Repair is a busy place; but my repair was quoted and repaired within hours. Call in advance to schedule an appointment. FIVE STARS PLUS......

My 2012 Cruze/43,000 miles on it, showed an engine indicator light. Brought it in and John got on it, diagnostic was run, he ordered the parts I needed to fix the situation. All fixed up and back on the road in 2 1/2 days. He was kind and professional to tell me the other part wasn't needed, so didn't use it and saved me some $$. Whomever the mechanic was for this job, I appreciate it greatly. John was very nice, Blamer's is close by to my apt. I'll definitely be going back to Blamer's for anything else that might be needed. Thanks guys!

John has always done a great job on my car. My 2006 Trailblazer had many problems thorough-out the years (mainly age and corrosion) but every repair that John did was timely and good quality. I also appreciate that when my car died on the highway I got it towed there and he looked at it first thing next morning to let me know what needed fixing. I don’t live close anymore and own a Honda now, I will seek John if I need help still.

John and his team took good care of us and our 2009 Corolla when a battery light came on unexpectedly. Communication throughout troubleshooting and repairs was prompt and courteous. Pricing was where we expected it to be. Very happy to have found a honest, reliable, independent shop.

Recent oil change discovered they used cheap oil pan drain seal instead of OEM seal & didn't replace secretly marked oil filter. They only replaced oil. Sad!
