Took my 3 series in for a service engine light, it has a rough idle and the engine would die on me on lights and stops. They said it was the MAF sensor and plugged it back it and whatnot for a total of $300+ tax. The next day i drove it and engine dies multiple times and kept the rough idle, so i took it back. This time they replace an air sensor and the total was $600. What happens when i drive back? The engine dies again. Spent almost $1000 and they still didnt fix the car, and their diagnosis seems to fail time and time again. Spent all this money and im stuck with the same issue, honestly expected better upon reading reviews before heading here. Not coming back for them to take my money again…

I normally don't feel compelled to provide any reviews but BMW Tech has to be an exception. I highly recommend this shop if you have a BMW. Only BMWs because that's what they specialize in. Extremely knowledgeable on every aspect of these vehicles and I always receive the best quality work and care for my BMW (always riddled with problems by the way). The shop is owned by a brother and sister (Marco and Marlen) team and not only are they professional but extremely nice people. Marco is an experiences BMW technician who came from a BMW dealership and really knows these cars. Marlen handles the operations but gets hands on and even went out of her way to spend a weekend afternoon to assist me and my father to drive a BMW vehicle from Laguna Hills to Chula Vista. That's right. I don't trust anyone else with our BMW vehicles except for BMW Tech and don't mind traveling over an hour and half to get to the shop. They are honest, know exactly how to diagnose and repair BMWs and save me from exorbitant repair bills from any dealer. Highly recommend for any BMW repair needs...

This is my BMW's 2nd home from now on. They are highly skilled, fair and up front. Marco is a straight shooter that cares for your vehicle as much as you do (maybe even more). From the moment you hand them the keys, your car is their car and will treat your car as such.

As an individual with a background in automotive mechanics, I regrettably must share my unsatisfactory encounter with BMW Tech Inc. My family friend's BMW, equipped with an N20 engine, was suffering from a front end knocking noise, rear-end NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) issues and required a battery replacement. Despite my advice to choose a reputable service center, she opted for BMW Tech Inc. in hopes of cost savings. Unfortunately, the level of service provided by the technicians at BMW Tech Inc. was sorely lacking. Their approach leaned more towards indiscriminate part swapping rather than a targeted, informed diagnosis, raising questions about their qualifications. Frankly, based on my observation of their performance, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a single ASE certification among the entire team. We clearly stated that the issue manifested itself at speeds between 50 and 70 mph. Nevertheless, the technician decided to test the car in the parking lot, an environment incapable of replicating highway conditions. Their initial diagnosis was a faulty spark plug. However, even after the swap, the car's problem recurred almost immediately. The second time around, they blamed it on defective injectors. One of the most concerning points was when they claimed the engine contained 8 quarts of oil, suggesting a full engine replacement might be necessary. This felt like a blatant attempt at an upsell rather than a legitimate, fact-based recommendation. On a more positive note, they did manage to successfully replace the battery. So, if you need a basic battery swap and are willing to pay a premium for it, BMW Tech Inc. might just fit the bill. However, if you're looking for expertise, informed diagnostics, and genuine professionalism, I would suggest Euro Auto Spot. It may be in Miramar, but you'd be saving yourself from a headache dealing with these guys.

The worst BMW shop anywhere. Took my car in to change the lower radiator hose. Preventive Maintenance. I thought I had found a great BMW shop based on the reviews. I couldn't have been more wrong. The tech spilled coolant all over the engine bay. I went back and they left the car worse than when I brought it in. The engine sounds horrible now. I will never go back to this place again. If you value your BMW stay as far away from these people as possible. Check out their Yelp reviews to get the full uncensored story. Don't say you weren't warned. I only wish I would have seen the Google reviews before I went here. STAY AWAY!!!

$4900 problem still not fixed because the techs don’t listen. Lol. Went in for a head gasket and oil pan gasket replacement for my car, since there’s a bulletin posted by BMW and my car is running every symptom. Even brought my BMW licensed tech with me to drop off my car and explain it the first time (he couldn’t do it because he’s backlogged.) They changed my belts, turbo, oil pan and gasket for $3500. I go back because I need my head gasket still replaced, and they didn’t reconnect my left hood cable so I couldn’t pop it to see my coolant levels (since, you know, my car is overheating and I need gasket replacement). I take get it back, and they replaced my valve cover for $1400. They said they won’t replace the gaskets because it’s not leaking and they don’t see it overheating. That’s still not what I asked for. Marco tried to get angry because he doesn’t want to replace the gaskets, then proceeds to tell me it’s going to be a $5,000 replacement, when that’s not what the other tech and the front told me. Lol, talk about bringing emotions into business. I also took my car in on the 4Nov, the tech tried to tell me I brought it in on the 10Nov, and that’s why they didn’t work on it. It’s now 20Nov, and I just got my car back for a two day job, and my issue still isn’t fixed, lol. You’re better off going to the dealer (yes, I said that, ‘cause if it takes longer, at least you’ll get a loaner car.)

When I met Marco for the first time, it was a great first impression. He was very profesional and honest and explained every detail about the repair my car was needing. In the past, I was looking for a good place to repair my car but little concerned because of being woman that had experienced abuse regarding prices. I’m very glad I came to Marco’s place since his prices are very reasonable and the repairs excellent. Since then, I don’t take my car to any other place. It is not easy to find a good and honest place so I highly recommend Marco and his team.

Don’t go here if u want it fixed correctly. Brought my M3 to them for front and rear shock replacement and camber plate installed. I provided all parts , Bilstein B6’s, Dinan camber plates, OEM shock install kit, OEM front upper strut mounts. They said they could do it in one day, I dropped off car when they opened, it took two days to get car back. About a week after picking up car, I was attempting to upgrade the strut braces but couldn’t because the strut mount nuts had been over torqued and stripped 5 of the 6 strut mount bolts. Took car back and was told it was my fault for providing custom parts(Dinan Camber plate). Had to take car to another shop, purchase another pair of strut mounts and camber plates, plus labor for install. Do yourself, your car, and your wallet a favor and go somewhere else! Nothing but hacks!!!

I had the infamous sos and no audio problem on my 2006 330i. Every shop I went to told me I needed new controllers(there are a total of 3) for everything which would cost me close to $2k. Marco was able to fix my sound for only $250!!! I was shocked. My logic7 system is now working perfectly and i didn’t even spend a lot of money. He even got it done in less than a day. Absolutely insanely fast turn around time. Highly recommend then. Thanks Marco!!!

They take great care of my baby, and they take great care of me while they work...like pick me up and drop me off to where I want to go while I wait. They even do extra small favors to enhance my repairs.

I have been coming to BMW Tech for over 9 years and have never been disappointed with the superb professional service they have provided me on all my BMW vehicles. They are very considerate of your time and get the job done in a timely manner. Their communication is on point and Marlen always provides great customer service. Marco has always shown his expertise and treats you with respect and takes the time to explain the necessary repairs and the future maintenence needs. They use professional equipment and have all the tools needed to service all types of BMWs. Their financing options are also lifesavers.

Absolutely the worst BMW shop anywhere. Went in for a lower radiator hose swap. Preventive Maintenance. Thought I had found a great shop. I couldn't have been more wrong. When I got the car back and went home I noticed a puddle of liquid under the car. Opened the hood and saw that the so called tech had splattered coolant all over the engine. The novice also filled the coolant reservoir WAY above the max line. I took it back thinking it was a leak. Marcos took a look at it and said it was fine. The car is now leaking and the engine sounds like a jet engine. Bottom line: Stay as far away from these people as possible. Marcos supposedly has experience but the people working don't have a clue what they are doing. You might as well take the car to T.J. if you're going to go here. If you value your BMW stay away!!! Bunch of incompetent paisas. In the end you make the choice. Just don't say I didn't warn you.

Great work and service, highly recommend! Always bring my cars here to the professionals. They know what they are doing not your ordinary spot where they just plug in a obd for diagnostics. Best spot in San Diego for sure

Called to make an appointment regarding my BMW's check engine light. The woman on the phone doesn't like questions and is clearly immature and ignorant. She was very rude and spoke down her nose to me. Very condescending. She kept saying "as I said" when I asked for clarity and no, she never did say what she said she said. Ridiculous. Example: She said we could bring the car in and they would "run a diagnostic on it for a few hours." I said, "Why does it take a couple of hours to run a diagnostic? Firestone did it in few minutes." She replied, "As I said, we run a diagnostic. Firestone does tires. We work on BMWs. Firestone doesn't know what we know." I said, "Yes, I know Firestone doesn't know what you know, that is why I'm calling you. Why does it take you hours to run the diagnostic?" Then she said, "As I said, we run the diagnostic, then look around the car for a couple of hours, then we'll let you know what's wrong with it." She kept saying "As I said" when it didn't make sense. NONE of what she said made sense and when I asked for clarity, I never received any. I only received an attitude. She said she treats her customers like family. Well, I'm sure glad I'm not in her family! Good service starts with treating your customers right, good and intelligent communication, and giving them straight talk and answering questions. Major fail. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BMW TECH, INC.
