This was my first time at Boise Muffler Auto Repair. I recently purchased a classic Chevy and was looking for a mechanic that has experience working on classic cars. I was thoroughly impressed with the friendliness and knowledge of the owner's, Ben & Sheri, and Josh the mechanic who did the inspection. After the inspection, Ben spent nearly 30 minutes explaining different options I had to improve the steering and braking on the car. It was obvious Ben has the experience and a strong passion for working on classic cars. I will give an updated review once they complete the work, but I am fully confident they will get the job done right.

Beware if you are a trusting person (woman) and using Boise Muffler Auto Repair (BMAR) on 36th Street in Garden City. The car I used for work was in for diagnostics with possible repair. On August 25th, 2022 their technician TOTALLED my car during the test drive by CRASHING it head on into a city utility pole. BPD cited him for INATTENTIVE DRIVING/ USING MOBILE DEVICE. The owner called me from the scene saying he didn’t want to claim it on his insurance and guaranteeing me they would replace it with a comparable and even better car than my 1998 Camry. Many weeks went by with me stopping by weekly to check in because they weren’t returning my calls. A friend of mine knew of a really nice 2006 Subaru being sold by a lady that was ill and could no longer drive. They got her information from my friend, looked at it ,then told me it wasn’t right for me because it needed about 3K of repairs. Then I was offered their “loaner car”, a 2001 Subaru that looked as if it had just come off the back lot covered in dirt and filled with leaf debris on the inside. I agreed to drive it for a bit to see if it was suitable as I was getting desperate for a car to drive for work. I then found out that the owners of BMAR, bought the 2006 Subaru for themselves and were even untruthful with the poor sick woman by telling her the vehicle needed many repairs, thus paying her much less than it was truly worth. I returned the “loaner car”, obtained the BPD accident report myself, then filed a claim with their insurance company. The settlement is nowhere near what is needed in today's market to get a replacement work car for me. I still am left high and dry without a work car. If they really want to do the right & decent thing, they would park that 2006 Subaru in my driveway with the title signed over in a note of apology!!

Overall the owners & employees are really nice but when it comes to the business side and getting the repairs done was a different story. I needed exhaust manifolds on my eco boost f150 and the first time they said it was fixed the mechanic said there’s a small leak still and took it home and it was far worse than when I brought it in (the mechanic test drove it and gave it to me like that) it also had a engine light for the turbos having low boost (I checked). I took it back and they told me that they finally fixed the exhaust leak (which they did). But when I suspected that they didn’t reattach the charge pipe to the inner cooler and asked I was assured that they checked it and when I had someone else look at it, They didn’t secure it and it blew off and they neglected to make sure. All I had to do was put it back on and tighten a clamp and clear the code. Not hard to do. If they would have looked it’s obvious. It was kind of a hassle and I sure didn’t want to have to take it back a 3rd time. Do better boise muffler. Pictures of the turbo charge pipe. The truck had no power with it not secured. They had to of noticed when they test drove it. If they did… or didn’t care.

Believe it is not my radiator and fan were held on by the radiator cap. My wonderful 2005 Honda Pilot unfortunately lost her bolts and needed new bushings. Boise Muffler and auto repair got me in quickly and reattached the radiator. . They had to order the bushings and gave me a loaner car to drive until the bushing came in; which was the next day. They were wonderful and I would highly recommend them. My Honda Pilot is now purring down the road as if she were a 2026. Thank you everyone!!!
