Went for a smog check, he turned on my car to check the milage and saw the check engine light on but didn't tell me it would fail because of that until after he ran the test. My car passed the actual test, but he told me because the engine light is on it counts as a fail and charged me for the test. Very shady and didn't appreciate the dishonesty.

I would like to formally repeal my former one star rating. Although firestone fixed my spark plug wires and my car was running much smoother, the check engine light came back on within five minutes of driving. After changing my spark plug wires twice, a mechanic told me that it could be my coil pack. Then I told another mechanic that my check engine light was blinking and not just on, and it turns out that this guy was right. I apologize. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO THIS GUY. I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS, but in this case i have to. I feel bad for doing this, but im trying to help whoever else out there hates costly unnecessary repairs done to their car. I went in asking for a simple diagnostic, this guy tells me i need an ignition coil pack-$180 off the bat and didn't even finish the diagnostic. Took my car to firestone instead, they told me i just crossed the spark plug wires i did myself.....free. like really, people like him do not need to be in buisness. Sad.

I have been going to David for a few years now. He does the work that is needed and has never pushed work on me and he is fairly priced. I had to chuckle at the one reviewer who gave him a 1 star review thinking that he told him he needed a coil pac and then he went to firestone where they told him didn't and it turned out he did.....Kudos for changing your review. David works long hard hours and he is honest and up front. He always tells me what really needs to be fixed and what can wait and if you need to save or wait on something until you can get it fixed it good to know.

I have my cars fixed at Bright Tech Auto Services several times. It's a small shop with excellent services. I never have to bring back my car to repair for the same problem. That saves me a lot of time and money. He also have a general check on my car to see if there is anything needed to be done or replaced for safety driving. I am happy and confident that my cars (Honda Accord, Honda CRV and my Nissan Quest) will be fixed fast with reasonable prices and reliable experienced mechanic whenever services needed. He is my favorite mechanic.

I give david from bright tech auto service a 5 star rating if not a higher. He's well educated with his profession and knows what he's doing. His prices are great too and tells you the truth about the car problem unlike every other car mechanic. I would definitely recommend David I've been going to him for 4 years with any problem I have with my car and every time I'm beyond satisfied with his work! If you have a problem with your car and needs fixing give bright tech auto a try you will not be pleased!

Whenever I have trouble with my Toyota Camry, I never hesitate to bring my car to Bright Tech Auto Services to have David troubleshoot the problem. The shop might be further away from my house than other nearby local shops but it's worth the drive for me. You can just automatically tell that David does honest and reliable work. He effectively troubleshoots your car problems and fixes it - at a MUCH, MUCH cheaper cost than other mechanic shops. Don't be fooled by the appearances of the shop - David is amazing at what he does.

First and foremost I had a 2000 Volvo "David" did all the repair work on. He is consistently Honest and pair with his work. We are a military family and have had much work done on the Volvo. No I am driving a 2007 Tundra he put with water pump in and it was delivered back on time. We highly recommend this shop to all Military, Friends, anyone who has car troubles. Hello, The owner David is a brilliant man. It’s almost like he fixes things just by touching it. I told him he has magic hands He’s really really really smart. He did some smog repairs for me that nobody else really wanted or couldn’t touch He’s certified and authorized and did a great job even to extremely high California standards He’s getting ready to do other work for me. I’ve got five or six jobs lined up smaller things and some big things, But this guy is so smart, brilliant… And this guy is honest too just a nice guy truly honest and a very smart mechanic he knows basically everything he really knows his stuff. Just so you understand before I had taken my car to BRIGHT TECH auto I spent probably two hours scrutinizing every other business in the area and this guy for what I needed done with my smog was perfect and now I realize he can do absolutely everything when it comes to vehicle repair BRAVO!!! David has been so accommodating, honest, fair, and kind. I've had two car emergencies in two weeks, and David has taken care of me in 24 hours or less. I compared prices with the local pepboys for the first emergency and he charged me much less. For my second emergency, I didn't even have to compare as I knew I was getting an incredibly fair deal. I came to David for help initially because he was recommended to me by a local. I think we are very lucky to have him here in Santee. He is a one man shop that gets it done right!

A very miserable experience! Avoid this place !! The mechanic/owner, David Tran is very incompetent forgetful and Confused...his place is a mess ... he lost some of my car accessories and left engine parts loose that were about to come in contact with other and potentially cause major engine damage ... He charged me twice he ran two smog check tests and for the second one he copied the smog check information on his invoice without any diagnosis or repair estimate ... A real liar and big charlatan! If you love your car and if you want to be safe avoid this mechanic!

Came in on a Saturday, one of the few guys out there who will help you ya on a weekend. Went through options that saved me money in my smog repair and had the work done as fast as it possibly could. You could tell he hustles by the look of his shop. He's super friendly and gets the job done the RIGHT way.
