I had a very disappointing experience at this dealership while trying to purchase a 2020 Honda CR-V I found online. Before test-driving the car, the salesman mentioned there was a “yellow sign” because the title was missing. He said he didn’t think he could sell the car, but that he’d check with the manager and still let me test-drive it. I explained that I was willing to wait for the title. He then spoke with the manager, who came over and said the mechanic had asked to send the car back, though he didn’t know why. The story kept changing — first it was the missing title, then supposed mechanical issues — and no one could give me a clear answer. I said I was willing to wait regarding what needed to be done. They agreed and came with the breakdown of how much the car would be. The breakdown had $4,000 in dealership fees (not including taxes): $1,995 Recon fee, $650 Admin fee, and $1,850 CPO fee. Then I also needed to pay DMV fees and taxes. When I questioned the CPO and Recon fees, they refused to negotiate, even though I know from experience that these fees are optional. They claimed there was nothing they could do. I left disappointed because, in addition to being unsure why the car couldn’t be sold to me, the fees were outrageous and supposedly “nonnegotiable.” Later, a family member of mine was called by the dealership because he was initially supposed to view the vehicle for me and they thought he was a different customer. He spoke to Kevin, who was much more professional. He agreed to lower the fees from $4,000 to $900, which seemed reasonable, so I called him myself and decided to move forward and was scheduled to go the next day. Imagine that: fees that were supposedly “set in stone” were now suddenly negotiable. Over the phone, Kevin told me only that the title was missing, nothing about mechanical issues, which made me doubt the earlier explanation that the manager gave me. I left work early the next day to sign paperwork and leave a cash deposit, and was told they’d contact me as soon as the title came in. After several days without an update, I followed up with Kevin, who said he would check and get back to me. Later that day, the same manager from before called and said they couldn’t sell me the car because the mechanic now claimed it needed a new transmission. What’s strange is that the manager clearly knew the mechanic had requested to see the vehicle again, yet Kevin — the salesperson — didn’t know and was still allowed to sell it. If that was truly the case, why weren’t the staff properly informed not to sell a vehicle under review? It shows poor internal communication and complete disregard for customers’ time. Also, before going to view the car, I called and made an appointment — why didn’t the person I spoke with know that the vehicle’s title or mechanical inspection was pending? Also, why list a car on multiple websites that had not been inspected and ready for sale? Overall, I wasted a lot of time and energy, felt misled about the car’s true condition, and was disappointed by the lack of honesty. Kevin was really helpful and great, but this dealership was unorganized, inconsistent, and not transparent about the vehicle’s condition or fees. What started as an exciting purchase turned into a huge frustration. I wouldn’t recommend this dealership based on my experience with the manager and disorganization.
