I called Stewart in tears, broken down with my daughters in our van in a town we weren't familiar with. He was very kind to me and even gave me the phone number for a towing company he knew would know where his shop was. He called me midmorning the next day and gave me the run down of what was wrong and what it would cost... I didn't really know what to expect so he could have taken advantage of me and he didn't. Every single person I've spoken with since I got back to my side of town said I was given a great deal. My van was fixed quickly and he even let me keep it there until I could come get it (I live an hour and a half away so I had to plan). I have not had any trouble with it since and I am VERY grateful to have crossed paths. Really wonderful, honest man.

On 27 May 2022 called Steward for auto service... Answering machine says "As of January he is no longer able to do auto repair on the advice of his Doctor. "There you have it, he's closed for good. Steward Bender one of the HONEST mechanics in Lansing. Ya know, one of the things women discuss is the car repair pirates. Just yesterday I was talking about one of the dealerships " you need a $2000 complete break job. " said a friend. She took car to a referred auto repair, the fix $45. Ladies: Stewart one of the honest ones. Ya Need an appointment, he is booked 5 to 6 days in advance. Plan ahead.

Stewart is the most trustworthy mechanic I have dealt with. I was out of town when my daughter was having problems getting her car to start. I had advised her to go to Stewart once it was jump started. Stewart resolved the problem for her and got her back on the road in just a few minutes, and did not charge her! When you have a child or family member who needs help with a vehicle, you can trust Stewart to take care them, more than fairly. I will never take my cars anywhere else! Thank you Stewart.

I like my SUV of choice and stick with them for 150K miles or so. When Stew repairs my car, I’m confident it’s done right. Dealer experience: more paperwork than actual work it seems. Receptionist, service desk writer, service mgr, courtesy car driver, mechanic, test driver, prep guy, bookkeeper/pay desk clerk…even the owner walks in sometimes. Stewart was wonderful. He got us in early in the morning and had our car back to us same day. As two women going into the shop we really appreciated how honest and straightforward he was; did exactly what we asked and gave us lots of time to think about what work we wanted done and how we wanted to pay for it. We had two brake pads, rotor, and both wipers replaced plus an oil change all for $425 labor included. Will certainly return.

Exhaust leaks he fixed and another part replaced now is another bigger leak and I'm afraid to confront him for months not using the vehicle because he has a friend in there getting an oil change that kept talking inappropriately to me making me uncomfortable standing over me in the lobby agging Steve on to like it was a funny jokeafe me too uncomfortable to return at all it was too much of a pushed conversations to get a written test before bringing iny next vehicle and I do feel I could talk to him about my concerns

Stu was great, honest guy. He diagnosed the problem quickly on a 2006 Toyota Corolla. He advised me to get the part my self if I could because it was insanely expensive from the Toyota dealership. The owner helped us out immediately when we had this loud flapping plastic noise under the car when we were driving to Erie, PA from Mt Pleasant, MI. He took out the undercarriage panel which WAS the issue as it was broken and did all the flapping noise at high speed and very windy day. He didn’t charge us anything and was super nice and friendly 👍🏻
