I was having minor transmission issues with my truck , after dropping off my truck at Butch transmission for a diagnostic I was told I needed a new transmission that would cost me a $13,000 .I told the gentleman it couldn’t be the transmission because how minor the issue was .i told him I’m sure it was my valve body since I replacement many transmission in my days so I knew the transmission wasn’t it.After finding a shop that was honest I was told it wasn’t my transmission it was only the valve body and it only cost me $500 in labor .I would recommend to do major research before making your decision because it could cost you $13,000 .. dishonest to the people

I live in Galveston but do not trust any mechanics on this island. I had my transmission done in Galveston and got ripped off. When it went out again, I found Butch's shop. The price was almost half to get it rebuilt so it was a no brainer to go with them. Butch took me into the shop once the transmission was out, he showed me where the parts messed up and showed me how he was going to replace everything. I have never had a shop do that for me. So now this is my go to shop and I do not mind the drive from Galveston. They are honest and will explain in detail over the phone what may or may not be going on with your car before they even look at it. Everyone should trust thier vehicle repairs to Butch's!

These guys did a great job rebuilding the transmission on my truck. They quoted a very fair price for the job and then when all was said and done, my bill was CHEAPER than what was quoted which was a nice surprise. Truck runs and drives great now. I will definetly use them again for any other transmission problems I have in the future

I had some transmission troubles with my F-150, and after getting the run around from another shop, decided to give Butch's a try! I received outstanding service from the start! Both Butch and Josh are super knowledgable and friendly, and they were able to get my truck repaired in a timely manner. I was so satisfied with their work and my experience, that the next week, I took my husband's car in to have the AC looked at! I picked up a friend from this repair shop. From where I was I can say that it opened on time, looked clean and organized. It is easy to get to. My friend seems to trust them and he seems to have confidence in their abilities. Suspension work and ignition stuff is what he is getting done. That's all I can say for now.

Butch & Josh are the best mechanics! I was so worried, moving to a new place I didn't know anyone, especially a good mechanic that wouldn't cheat you (my best friend would always work on my car), but from the first time my husband and I took our cars to them, they were so patient, thorough and just amazing people! They really care about their customers and take the time to go over everything with you. They are definitely our #1 mechanics from now on! Would never take our cars anywhere else! I have been using them for years to service my vehicles. They are outstanding and honest. I work in Galveston and due to my schedule it is a challenge to get my cars to them because of their hours. If they were open a bit later or on Saturdays, that would be awesome. Otherwise, this is the place to trust your cars.

Josh (the owner) & Anthony are very friendly & seem to be very honest with their diagnosis, etc. They fixed my transmission for a fair price. I think a lot of other shops would have recommended a rebuild although I also felt like that wasn't needed. Will definitely go back for transmission work if needed and possibly other work.. thanks

This is by far the best mechanic and transmission shop I have ever been to in the state of Texas. Honest, excellent workmanship, a great team, and a very fair price. I have never been to a place like this where I felt so well taken care of. I wish every place was like this. It was a bit of a drive to get to them from where I live, but it was definitely worth it!
