My experience with Cable Dahmer in Independence was poor compared to the service I received years ago with the cars I owned. Then, the regard to how they deal with customers, Austin my service advice was not the kind of person I would like to do business with in the future. It seems that he was not really interested in dealing with me. When I arrived through the door, it seemed as if everyone was disorganized throughout the process of my car being serviced. They tried to pressure me into letting them keep my car for three days for a simple oil change and diagnostic assessment. I was told that the technician was not qualified to handle to task, as I would have to wait until after the holiday for that to happen. If, for some reason, you find yourself looking for service, RUN from this place. They have a long way to go in that service department to make sure they are being upfront with the customer.

Mike Hooper was amazing! He assisted my wife & kids when they came to the dealership in a quick & professional manor. He located options to be able to look at & test drive. Honestly over & above what typically happens when you walk into a dealership. We’ll be back to work directly with him.

“My experience with Cable Dahmer of Independence Chevrolet was extremely disappointing. I found a 2015 Mazda6 on Facebook Marketplace, and the listing was posted by a salesman from this dealership. When I arrived, they literally increased the price, but after negotiating, it was set back to the original amount I saw online. Before buying, the salesman promised several repairs: fixing dents, replacing the tires, repairing the blurry audio, and providing me with a spare key, which I waited over a month for and never received, despite spending time and gas traveling to the dealership. I left the car for the promised repairs, but when I picked it up, nothing had been done, and they even tried to charge me for the work. Shortly after, the engine began to fail severely, and although the warranty covered a replacement, it shows a lack of care when selling a supposedly reliable vehicle. I also tried to return the car within their 14-day return/exchange policy, but the salesman ignored my messages and didn’t provide any information. This experience showed me that the trust usually expected when buying from a dealership is not guaranteed. I can provide the contact information of the salesman if anyone wants it. I would strongly caution other buyers to be careful with this dealership They ask you to contact them and never replied, think twice before you buy from this dealership

I'm new to MO and didn't know a state inspection was required to register my vehicle. The DMV gave me a list of local shops that will do a cheap inspection. Everybody I called on that list was booked out several weeks and.... Less than helpful. So I dug into Google and ended up at Cable Dahmer. Ended up done the same day I called in. Didn't cost me anything. In and out in no time. I know we are supposed to love local business and abs hate dealerships, but.... Boy they treated me well at Cable Dahmer today when all the little local shops seemed annoyed with my phone calls. It's worth a look.

We had a great experience working with George in sales and Abbey in financing. Both were extremely personable and even shared some family stories with us. It was very enjoyable to have a more personal experience. However, the front right blinker has been out (they did not inform us) since before purchasing the vehicle. We are addressing this issue with them. I have sent an email to George and will be calling him on Monday to see how they will handle this issue, but I will be back here to update the outcome. UPDATE: called George this morning, he answered right away and told me they will get it fixed! He even said they will get me into a rental if needed and fill my gas tank back up due to the drive to the dealership being over 1.5 hours. Whenever this is fixed I will be back to update with the final outcome. So far so good. FINAL UPDATE: They fixed it. It would have been a very smooth process but the part was on back order. So after a couple of rentals and a little bit of time, it was fixed.

I've purchased two Chevy equinoxs from them. I’ve bought both with extended warranties and service packages — and I’ll never make that mistake again. Every time I’ve brought my car in, they’ve managed to break something else and then complained about having to fix their own mistakes, as if I’m the problem for expecting accountability. That’s not customer service — that’s arrogance. This last visit was the final straw. They charged me a diagnostic fee but couldn’t even confirm what was wrong. Their answer? “It might be the battery.” I didn’t pay for guesses — I paid for answers. Their documentation is a mess, their communication is worse, and every person tells a different story. After spending thousands with them, I’ve learned loyalty means nothing to this place. Save yourself the headache. Go anywhere else but Cable Dahmer Chevrolet of Independence. They’ve lost my trust for good. By the way I'd like my money for my last diagnosis back! Finally got my issues fixed! It was not the battery. It was the body control module and moisture corrosion that cause my issue so congrats cable dahmer! Wrong again! And also these automated responses to pissed off customers are just that! They don't reach out to fix anything. They make the mistakes and fail miserably at every turn of service. Cable dahmer does not care about anything other than making money off of lying to their customers.

We've all seen the commercial telling us to experience the Cable Dahmer difference. Been there done that and got the transmission. My 2020 Canyon experienced transmission failure at 83000 miles. I have only owned it since the 69000 mile mark. I contacted the Cable Dahmer dealership in Independence and told them of my issue and took the truck into them for evaluation. Matheuw Erisman in the service department took point on solving my problem. I guess the transmission problem was somewhat common and GM was experiencing a high volume of transmission replacements. I was told it could take more than a month to even get a transmission to put into my truck. Mat knew that I was going to need my truck to transport items and equipment to Texas for our son's wedding. Mat went to the effort of tracking an available transmission and arranged for it to be shipped to them ASAP. Mat called 2 days before I had to leave for the wedding and said, "we got your hot rod ready." Cable Dahmer had provided a loaner vehicle when I needed it. They got my truck back on the road and they did it in time for me to transport everything we needed for the wedding in Texas. If you haven't experienced the Cable Dahmer difference, might I suggest you check them out.

I have been looking into the pre owned lot at a vehicle I was interested in. When I went in to look at the vehicle I was told one price/ then another. After I left I checked online and there was a 3k difference in what I was told in person. I contacted the guy I spoke with and asked him some questions he didn’t disclose in our walk around. Not to mention the CarFax has false information on it. They would not provide me with the work they have done to the vehicle I was interested in unless I came in again with an offer ready to buy. I asked if they could show me the paperwork related to the CarFax and they could not. They said CarFax lists incorrect information all the time. After voicing my displeasure and disinterest the sales rep gave my number to other people at the dealership who contacted me directly without my permission! Do not give your number to these people! If you need to contact them do it through the store phone.

Purchased a 2025 Silverado 2500, very impressed with my salesman Aubrey Elliot and the rest of the staff that helped. All very patient and not pushy with my last minute decision to change vehicles. They even delivered my old vehicle home for me! I feel happy with price I paid for the vehicle and feel that I got a fair deal. I also won’t forget their open support for law enforcement in the past so I respect them for this too!

I wouldn’t wish my worst enemy to buy a car from this place. Rude, horrible customer service and quite frankly unsure they know what they’re doing. Purchased a car December 1st pre owned with 19k miles. Car had not gone through inspections or details but that was not to my knowledge. Post buying the car they tell me this and have me return the car to be cleaned and detailed. Perfect! I return my car dec 12 and was told I should get my car back within a couple days. 12 days later after I have little to no explanation of why my car has not been returned to me, I return to the lot to find my car re stickered to be sold with a price tag on it. A new set of advanta tires are on that are horrible and they did not tell me they were changing. They refuse to get me the old tires that were in good condition or pay for a new comparable set. The tires on it were Goodyears. The car still had never been detailed even. My rim was scratched which I proved was not there when I bought the car and they fixed that after lots of arguing and picture showing. So 12 days for them to scratch my rim and put bad tires on it I didn’t ask for and to not detail it. After all this I go to tag my car at the dmv, my name has been spelled wrong on everything. When I return to have it fixed, the finance manager tells me I should payed more attention when we asked if everything spelling wise was correct. Like you guys were handed the ID. No need to blame anyone after I just calmly asked for it to be fixed. I am typically not a review person but that is a joke. Joke of a dealership. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

Be forewarned! Not only will Cable Dahmer absolutely flat out REFUSE to let me see the UCI (Used Car Inspection) to see what was recommended vs what was actually replaced when the vehicle went through the inspection process, but also they install GPS Tracking/Ignition Immobilizers on their cars due to the high crime area where they are located and the type of client they typically sell to, but I pay CASH up front for all my cars and never Finance cars so I told them they have NO right to install a tracker/immobilizer on a car that is 100% paid in full before it leaves the car lot, and they had the audacity to refuse to remove it. So I had another shop removed it. Absolutely shady sellers!

Edit: Rec'd check for MOST of the cost of the tire. Dealer lost a lot of lifetime value by behaving this way. Do the right thing at the beginning. September 2025 I bought a used (2024) car. On the test drive the tire pressure indicator reflected the driver's side rear passenger low. It was as expected when purchased a couple days later. 30 days later the tire was leaking regularly and rapidly. I called my salesman to address. Out of at least courtesy - 30 days and it was low on test drive - I'd think they would replace what was a bad tire. Took it in, dropped off, retrieved. One month later, same tire, leaking rapily. I called, came in, "repair" was made. December 1, same tire, back at Cable Dahmer but this time - they are certain it's different, this is my fault and charge me, $357.10 for a new tire I'd expected way back up at the beginning of this story. Cable Dahmer has a service that sends a survey after each interaction, when I gave a 1 star someone named "Lance" called to ask about the experience, and promised to refund my money IF I improved my google review. Well a person isn't going to pay for a car, a new tire on said car 60 days later, and offer kudos before the check arrives, so I waited. Today is December 31, 2025. I've never received any refund for the bad tire they sold me. So Cable Dahmer, 1 star sticks. Feel free to reach out and let me know where that check is. You can afford to replace that tire more than I can. I told you it was bad the first time I drove it, the first, second, and third times I came in to ask for it to be replaced. Disappointing and shameful to treat a new customer like that. You already got the $30K for the car, why did you need to bleed me for another $357.10?

Bought a 2020 GMC Yukon with 106k miles. We purchased every warranty available. 5 months into owning this car we’ve had multiple repairs that cost us $4k. I never received calls back when inquiring about our warranty. We went through a dealership to have the security of being under warranty. I do not recommend them and will never buy from them again.

I bought a car through here twice now. The first time was a used car in 2017 and I paid cash. Great experience although the salesman was a creep. However in 2024 came to buy a brand new vehicle and did not have approval for a loan prior so I used their financing department. Big mistake. My credit was good at 750 with a good report as well. They chose to run me thru 17 hard inquiries and oddly enough only their financing department gm financial accepted me. Offered a 12 percent interest rate. Terrible. Fast forward 2 years later and I had to have work done on my car which was covered under warranty so they gave me a rental for a few days while they waited for a part to come in. I was driving in the parking lot and some lady backed her car into me that was November 16th 2025.. they tried to tell me if I didn't pay them $500 I wouldn't get my own vehicle back and they would have to hold it until I paid them the money. The insurance claim wasn't even processed yet so for them to tell me I owe them the deductible on my insurance whenever I know for a fact you pay your insurance the deductible and they take care of the dealership, that was an instant red flag.. I called my insurance company and they called up to the dealership and lo and behold 30 minutes later the dealership called and said I can come pick up my car and that I don't owe the money.. I'm still waiting on them to finalize the damage claim and it's February 24th 2026 now. Definitely not a good place to go for multiple reasons especially if you're a single woman.

I risked coming down from Minnesota to purchase a used Equinox and don't regret it. Chase was ready and very helpful. As much of what we could do ahead of time, virtually, we did and that made the experience good. His daughter was his little helper too. All the final paperwork was done w new tech, electronically (which was cool).
