Context: I dropped off my car for a key-scratch to be fixed on the driver side door. It took 7 business days to fix this, and when I picked up the car the scratch was completely removed which was good, but a new problem was introduced. The driver side door had a rattle which it did not have before. Their initial feedback: they noticed the rattle, and took the car back to the shop the same day. They tried to remove and re-install the trim, and brought the car back. It still had a rattle which they clearly heard as well. They asked me to bring back the car the next morning for another engineer to take a look. Their secondary feedback: after dropping off the car the next morning, they asked me to come pick it up at 12pm and stated they took pictures of all the clips and had "done their best to re-install it". I came and there was still clearly a rattle. Here is where I got annoyed- they now tried to convince me this kind of rattle is normal, and the passenger side door also has "a bit of it". It did not. Keep in mind this is a new 2024 BMW X3M, so I know the condition of the car I dropped it off in. Last resort: I had to take the car to a BMW dealership. They instantly stated you can see the gap in the trim is not uniform, and it was not installed back correctly and will need to be adjusted to remove the rattle. They charged 2.5 hours of labor to do so, which now I have to coordinate with my insurance and go through the hoops to cover. All at no inconvenience to Caliber Collision, since they "did their best to re-install it". Final summary: the shop has friendly staff, and a communicative team. But this doesn't hold much value if the quality of work is sub-standard. At least if you've introduced a new problem during the initial fix, and then you cannot fix that problem, (1) be honest about it, and (2) provide some sort of compensation for it- like take the car yourself to the dealership and get it fixed.

My repair went through my insurance, which is pretty good, so I wasn't very concerned about cost. They were professional and thorough, answering my questions and concerns when I had them. The repair was done well and in my best observation it was completed according to a high standard. I wonder if I didn't have insurance and I didn't want to do all the repairs they recommend how that would go but I assume they would tell what was absolutely necessary and what could wait or be skipped.

10/10. Walter and the team are amazing, my truck was in terrible shape when it was towed over and when I got it back it was like I just pulled it off the lot again. Amazing work, amazing customer service, & the daily updates. To put things into perspective, my trucks suspension was completely shot after my accident and a lot of body damage. When I received my vehicle back it looked brand new, the quality of work is insane. Wouldn’t recommend another body shop again, truly the best. Thanks again!
