Very pleased with the professionalism and kindness of Cambridge. As an "old-school" guy, I still have a difficult time with the cost of oil and filter change, however, perhaps I'm behind the times. Other than that, if they could raise the temperature of their San Antonio waiting room, it would no longer be necessary to wear a parka while awaiting service to be completed. Will definitely return in the future for other maintenance or repairs.

Long review alert 🚨 HIGHLIGHT: Female friendly auto repair shop!!! Because yes, it matters. "Mom, I hit a dip in the road and the car's making noise..." "Your dad isn't back in town yet, but he said to take it to Cambridge Auto." Say less. Typically my dad does most of the work/maintenance on the car. So if he says to take it to a specific place, that's what you do. It's not close to where we live, but dad said the work is worth the drive. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. As a woman, taking my car into a mechanic can be extremely daunting. Most places will try to rip you off just because they assume women don't know any better. This place was not like that at all. I honestly can't say enough good things. I had my kids with me so the cleanliness of the restroom and waiting area was extremely impressive and APPRECIATED. My kids honestly had a blast looking at the car encyclopedia and at the "cool stuff" around the walls. Hopefully their squeals and giggles weren't too much of a bother, but the staff was very pleasant and offered snacks and water for them while we waited. The repair itself took roughly 30 minutes. He even showed me the issue, how they fixed it, and things I'll need to get taken care of both ASAP and further down the line. I was so impressed I had to make a post about them in one of my FB groups. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. If I could give them 100 stars, I would. They made an otherwise uncomfortable experience, painless. Pricing is VERY fair and service is phenomenal. I'll literally drop their name anytime someone asks about an auto repair shop. Huge shout out the every staff member over there! Thank you so so much for making sure my kiddos and I were taken care of!

This was the first time Cambridge Auto Center performed work on my car (Sadie) and they took superlative car of her!!!. Anthony kept me informed of their findings and walked me through the repair work that needed to be performed. He was extremely professional and very knowledgeable. Don't know how to do basic service on a vehicle and will say you dont know what you're talking about. I'd recommend going somewhere else if you have an old vehicle or need a bigger job done that isn't a simple oil change or antifreeze change. Poor service

This was the second time I have taken my vehicle to be serviced at Cambridge. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by name by Jake. He remembered me even though it had been several months since I had been there. Jake provides outstanding customer service! He very patiently described what needed to be done to repair my vehicle. Not only did he keep up with the progress of the repairs to my car he made sure I was taken care of, too. He arranged for me to pick up a rental car and had someone drive me to their location. Jake made sure to contact me with updates on the progress of the repairs to my vehicle. Jake is one of the main reasons I return to Cambridge! His customer service is outstanding.

BEWARE! I would give zero stars if I could. They hold themselves out to be able to fix anything. I was rear ended in 2022 and took my car there because I had taken it there before to fix a small scratch and they did a good job. This time I took in my SUV and Cambridge acted as if they could fix it. Seven months later it was still not fixed and they ended up sending it to a different garage saying they did not do “this type of body work.” SEVEN MONTHS after telling me they could and would fix it. They basically put a new gate ( back door) on my SUV and told me it was all fixed. When I went to get it the dashboard was showing that the gate was open. They said it must be an electrical problem because the gate was closed. But I could tell just from looking at it and from feeling how it felt when I tried to close it that it was not closing properly. After we took the SUV to a different shop who knew what they were doing, we learned that they had forced the new gate onto a completely bent frame. The whole frame of the SUV was crooked. This was a nightmare for seven months of lies and delays by them. ALSO, when I got my SUV back it was FILTHY inside with grease marks all over the interior which I had to pay to have removed. And as I sit here for years later, I’m still missing a part of the vehicle that they removed and never returned.

Highly recommend! Called the shop and spoke with Terry later to find out he’s the owner and explained I had a rattle in the front end and there was a grinding sound. He prompted me to come in the following day and found it was something very simple, a retaining pin that was due to an improper brake install from another very popular shop here in San Antonio. Best part.. There was NO CHARGE and they got me out the same day.

BIG RIP-OFF In August 2025 I requested to have the oil filter adapter and gasket replaced. This repair is quite and can be performed by most vehicle owners. I did not do the repair myself due to not having a suitable place to drain the coolant and oil. The repair requires adding new coolant, oil and oil filter, all of which I supplied only to keep using the same quality products that I have always used in my truck. After a week I received a call informing me that my truck was ready. The cost was $1,162.00 which I thought was steep but I did not complain, I even tipped the shop manager and the worker who washed the truck. I later found out that the oil filter adapter had not been replaced, the adapter was only cleaned and reinstalled but I was charged for a new one. All in all, the only work performed was to replace the gasket (cost of the gasket is $16), added the new coolant and oil (which I supplied) and flushed the radiator. I attempted several times to meet with the owner to inquire if the work was in-line with the charges but he was never available. My advice to others: PLEASE FIND A DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOP TO TAKE YOUR VEHICLE.

I was given an estimate on a brake job and some other work that I thought seemed awfully expensive, so I took my car to a reputable shop and got the job done for 60% LESS! That's a big difference. I would highly recommend you get a second opinion before using them. However, I will not be returning because I was informed that I had to pay in CASH or incur an additional 3% charge -- the 3% even applies to debit card transactions! So I only paid for the diagnostics and left never to return again, even though they are conveniently located to my home. In addition, I was told that my car was unsafe to drive (which was not validated by the second opinion I received) and which appeared to be a tactic to pressure me into agreeing to the overpriced brake job. I don't carry around a lot of cash and don't plan to, and when I make large purchases I want my credit card points, so this is a dealbreaker for me. When I brought this to the attention of the shop they got an attitude and told me that most people prefer to pay in cash. Well, I don't believe that for a minute and one has to wonder why a shop would want to do business in cash only. Goodbye, Cambridge Auto. Anyway, if you do go there make sure you have big piles of cash on hand because you will need it!

My experience with Cambridge Auto is not one where all ends well, but it is one of honesty, willingness and exhaustive effort. Urial and his crew worked on my car for over a month. During that time the shop suffered the effects of terrible weather, deceptive actions and outright lies from the dealer and loss of personnel. In the end, I had to claim my car due to time constraints. I have to say I dropped it off knowing it would be a difficult repair if even possible. Urial returned it with a myrid of diagnostic information and was more than fair in the fee. I can't express my gratitude enough. I'll be back.

The receptionist answered promptly. I wish they would have given me a prize for the diagnostic before I went in, but since it was not far from where I lived, I decided to go with them they found the problem within 30 minutes and went towards the price for my service. Everybody was very professional there was food and drink in the waiting area. There was also an outside area, everybody was very kind. The price was a little high, but sometimes you have to pay for quality, experience and service.

I was recommended to go to Cambridge auto from my triple AAA agent He told me they were very good and thorough I had a great person helping me Jake he called me every day to tell me what was going on and was something else happened he was on the phone and explaining it all to me, which I totally appreciate it. I went to pick up the car. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with Cambridge Auto Service. As busy as they were, they were communicating with me as much they could. Although the work was pricey, I can understand why it was as pricey because of the three year/36,000 mile warranty they have with roadside assistance. So I get it and have no complaints. If you’re a Costco member, I’d recommend this shop to anyone to get a discount through the Costco Auto Repair program, because they really do great work! When I got my vehicle back it was had a complimentary wash and driving better than before. Finally I do respect and like they are small business because they can really assess the issues carefully better than franchise auto shops. So, if you’re willing to be patient and wait (thy do have a shuttle service), again, I’d recommend this place. Thanks.
