My husband called for a next day appointment, only to show up and be told no appointment was scheduled or there was no mechanic there. They scheduled the appointment for the same time the next day, also verifying that the job would be completed the same day as he works out of town. My husband called the next day during the day, confirming once again that it will be completed same day. He got there, and waited 2 hours for it to just sit on the lift with the tire off for a job that would have taken 45 minutes max. Also to be told that they would not have a mechanic past 6PM (he got there at 4PM). Not to mention, they also very loosely tightened the lug nuts when he decided to leave, you could unscrew them just by using your fingers to get them off. They were also so stripped, that they all needed to be replaced.

Scott the store manager was so caring and thoughtful took very good care of my suburban. He knows how to talk to people and gives you great advice and recommendations on vehicle when I was lost. Also he show me detail and detail word for word on what needed to get done. Lastly, he is a man of his word. Shop messed up tire alignment, leading to fully balled out right front tire at 5000 miles with the three other tires having normal wear patterns resulting in my needing a full new set. Shop refused to re-align without charging me full price again, in spite of alignment having taken place less than a year and 5000 miles ago. Front desk made every attempt to excuse the shop instead of working with me to fix this problem. I highly advise avoiding this shop. I called the customer service number listed below. It sent me straight to a voice mail. These people are no good, avoid them.

I came here to get my brakes readers and calibers repaired they were doing a deal for $800 i got it financed through the program they have . The day i drove it off the lot i heard something fall underneath turns out the mechanic whom they say no longer with them didn’t secure my caliber. The same week i tried to drive it couldn’t it was making loud noises. Come time find out my entire caliber was hanging off my tire and brake pads brand new was missing. I called and they said they didn’t have anyone contracted to tow it but would reimburse me. It’s been a month they said they fixed it again tried to stop brakes went all the way to the floor barely could stop and when i did it was rolling. They made excuses the man said he old give me a full refund and reimbursement for the tow . He was out for a supposed tooth surgery for two weeks so i decided to drive by now it’s Aug 12 over a month later my daughter had heart surgery in peoria couldn’t make it to her follow up had to call uber to emergency rooms etc all because of them and the flex people taking their payments off for a car i can’t drive. He comes back i come in I asked the other mechanics did yall tell him I’ve been calling etc they said yea hw acts like no one told him anything Isreal is his name he’s a sweet individual but terrible customer service as far as fixing and being concerned when they have wronged me. I actually want to take the to court . I do not recommend anything but oil change from these people they will screw big time Me and my children could have gotten into serous accidents had i taken it on the highway like planned but I didn’t feel safe and chose not to for good reason.

They are holding my car hostage. They have had my car for over twelve hours just to change the brakes. I never received a call about an estimate and they did not answer the phone the multiple times that I called. I called into corporate and they tried calling, but still no answer. Corporate scheduled a callback, but that never happened. DO NOT GO HERE. I have to go in person to find out what is happening tomorrow. This is not normal. ZERO STARS.

The guy working front desk is awesome and easy to work with and respectful. However their mechanics don’t work more often than not. Out of town and I “attempted” to have my truck worked on but the mechanic either called in for the day or left early. My truck was on a lift for an hour and a half before he even attempted to work on it, and then decided he didn’t have enough time. The mechanic sent the man working the front desk to tell me the bad news and wouldn’t tell me himself, but that was probably because he wanted to leave an hour or 2 early even though I’d already been there almost two hours. The mechanic handed me back my keys and I went on my way, but he didn’t leave the special socket in my truck for the locking lugnuts and also forgot to tighten down the lug nuts (I could literally spin them with my fingers) on the affected wheel before giving back my keys. I was lucky I found it shortly after getting it back and had to buy a socket and breaker bar from advanced auto to tighten them up again. Keep in mind I’m out of town and had to risk driving back home with a less than safe vehicle and they found a way to make it worse. Got it home and fixed it in an hour in my driveway between tearing it apart fixing it and putting it back together. And I’m not even a “mechanic.” Like I said, front desk is awesome (5 star) but the people working on your car are not.(0 star if I could)

Please save your time, money, and sanity by just avoiding any CarX in the Champaign area. I have been to the one on Bradley 3 times and they have let me down every time. It takes them 15 minutes and them calling one of their bosses to figure out how to put you in for a basic oil change. Don’t even get me started on trying to get new tires put on at this place. They take forever and they are way overpriced. Most of the time they keep you there for over an hour just to tell you they can’t do what you came there for them to do. And the saddest part is how smug they are about it all. I know they don’t care about the customers but they can at least act like they do. Never again for me.

I was there for a quick check. I hit something at night when I cross a parking lot and after that the bottom cover was broken and touch the ground. I hope it can be a quick fix and I need hit the road that day. I walked in the store and they told me they have full schedule. But the guy at the front willing to help with out fit me in the schedule. It's done in ten minutes. Fixed and quickly. I can now hit the road. Highly recommend this store and definitely come back for an oil change in the future.

There is no experience staff,thay just know how to make money I went over there for check engine light,thay did diagnosing and told me we have to change couple sensors and one part and thay charge me 1200$ and thay go for fix that and after that Manager say everything is fine now your car is good to go. I just drive couple miles and engine light showing right back ,I just go back and tell them all ,he check again and say there is different problems coming you have to pay 600$ more to fix that , I just call costumer care and everything but everyone says same thing if you want to fix that you have to pay . Thay just make the problem and take money to fix that ,so think is if you have extra money and you want to spend that than go there .

Came here on Labor Day because car was having acceleration issues. I was given a list of many things I should get fixed and asked them what were main things I should get fixed at this exact moment in my price range that would help acceleration. They said gasket leak, fuel intake cleaning and rotation. I left the store with my car driving worse than it was driving before bringing it. I hear squealing randomly when driving mainly backing up. I’ve been to many shops in town over the summer and paid a lot of money on expensive repairs and I can honestly say after coming to this shop, my car is driving the worst. I came back to the store to see what was the issues and I drove it around with a guy at the front desk who pointed out my engine housing box being loose but this was a part that’s been loose for months. Although it needs fixed I definitely don’t think that’s the culprit of the issue and would’ve loved for someone who worked in the back specifically the guy who worked on my car to take the drive with me. The mechanics also didn’t mention this when they did my services, it’s no where near on my “what we recommend” sheet so how could the front desk guy be so confident that that’s the issue when it’s right in front of the mechanics face and they never mentioned it? When doing my rotation, they did not offer balancing service. They didn’t even mention that their balance system was down, I had to come back days later because I felt my car driving weird and then the guy who wasn’t there when they did the service informed me their balance system was down. I don’t know what the guy did to my car but it’s driving really bad now since leaving this shop. I’m starting to think it’s the fuel intake cleaning I got and it messed something up. This was a costly service so I wonder if that’s why it was recommended. I wonder if the issue was something as simple as tires but they forced me to paying for more services that clearly didn’t help my issue. I took my car to other shops but they said I should come back here to see where they went wrong. When I go to mechanics I go with the hopes that they know what they’re doing. I can play the “guess my problem” game at home. There’s no way I just paid $400+ just for my car to drive worse. I feel like I got scammed every time I drive my car now. I remember the mechanic did not pay attention and left his scanner in my car still hooked up. I could’ve drove off with it and had a free scanner. What else he didn’t pay attention to? There was definitely some hints that this location might not be an honest one and I can definitely say more like another review mentioned $130 fee just to read her codes? They attempted to charge me around that if a mechanic actually drove the car to see what the issue really was, I declined. The second time I came back, the front desk guy drove around with me and for free. When I took it to another shop who told me to take it back for balancing because they were suppose to mention it, that guy even offered to give me Car-X corporate information. It’s obvious they’re not as accurate as they should be and they’re just throwing around services and that cost and you’re pulling from a hat and picking what to get fixed at this point even if it’s not directed to the issue you’re even at the shop for. I feel this could’ve went way better. I honestly would like a refund, I don’t know if I even feel comfortable with this location working on my car further. Update: I’ve called for help and no help. The lady acted weird and did not want to give me a number to the higher ups. She just kept giving me the number of the store which I already called and was redirected to her. I’m over here at another car shop and my car speedometer isn’t reaching over 45. Update 11/1: I was not issued a refund or helped in any way and will be reporting this store as a scam with BB. I remember the front desk guy insinuated I should do the jobs myself because they’re a scam after I came back with my issues. Shut this place down.

I had a set appointment to get my tire fixed, when I arrived that turned me away and refused to work on my car. Very unprofessional and unorganized. Extremely disappointed. I would recommend anywhere else.

Scheduled a full service oil change, inspection, and tire rotation. This offer was advertised for $34.99. Upon arriving I was told the service was $129.00. I advised the employee that it was advertised for $34.99 and there was also a sign at the counter stating $20.00. The employee offer me a $27.99 coupon he pull out from under the counter. I went ahead and had the service completed. Within 24 hours of this appointment. My low tire pressure light is on and low windshield fluid. For $100.00 it is absurd that my tire pressure was not checked when the tire rotation was completed. Then that no fluids were checked or top off witht the oil change and inspection. This was my first time going to Car X and I can so that I will not be back. Over charged in comparison to promotional advertising and services not completed that should be included in the services paid for.

I dropped my car off to get new brakes and they ended up calling me saying I needed 2 new tires and an alignment as well. Okay, I approved this. After picking my car up it was pulling badly to the left, which was not the case before dropping my car off so I called them and they told me to bring it back in. When I brought it back in they stated I would need an alignment. I questioned this, as I had been told the day prior that I had already received an alignment and I was charged for the alignment. The employee stated "well when we put your car on the machine we realized it wasn't working right". This was never mentioned to me when I picked my car up and they still charged for it even though it wasn't completed. They agreed to do it again free of charge, however, after completing the alignment for the "second" time my car was still pulling to the left. They referred me to another shop for a second opinion. When I arrived at the other shop, the employee there stated that this CarX is constantly having this issue and knowingly using a machine that is not working properly. When people come back to complain they just send them to the other shop to fix the problem. I also found out they installed my tires incorrectly. They did agree to a refund for the alignment, which i have yet to see a week later.

Absolutely awful mechanics. By far the worst place I've taken my car. Needed to get my cooling system inspected to see what was wrong with it and when they called me to tell me they were done, they refused to tell me what was wrong with it or an estimate on the price and told me I had to come in person. When I went in person they vaguely told me what was wrong and tried to upcharge me on the fix itself (by trying to replace the entire coolant reservoir and charge me $384.57 when just the cap was missing) and then tried to upsell me on a bunch of other things that they "recommended" and would cost $5,000. Michael Meier was my awful mechanic. This whole place is a scam, take your car anywhere else.

DO NOT!!!! Bring your car here. I’ve been to many shops around Champaign Urbana & this is by far the worst one. I brought my car in because it was leaking coolant. They told me I needed a new upper & lower hose, new water pump, thermostat (which the water pump and thermostat were recently replaced) they also quoted me for a lot of other stuff that needed work and ended up totaling it up to around $4k. I told them no, I didn’t want the work done because the warranty covered my water pump and therm somewhere else. I then asked them how much would it be to replace just the 2 hoses and they totaled it up to around $900 just to replace 2 hoses. I told them it was fine and that I’ll take my car somewhere else, the guy then calls me and say they can’t get my car started 😂😂😂. My car was starting/driving perfectly fine and now all of a sudden it just won’t start. Also charged me $539 to put the old hoses back on. Ended up calling me in to look at my car, and said I might need a new engine. Car went from running perfectly fine, to now needing a new engine lol. Stay as far away from this place as possible. This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered a problem with this specific place. If I could rate them a 0, I would.
