Carpenters is awesome. A friend of mine has taken his vehicle to Carpenter's on a couple of occasions and had great results. I took my truck to Benji Carpenter (owner) since I believed him to be honest and capable (based on stopping in when dropping off my friend who got his car worked on there). I had the timing belt replaced along with the water pump and drive belts. Benji went ahead and checked over the rest of the truck, including brakes and transmission. Even lubed the u-joints. I definitely trust his shop do do all the work needed on my family vehicles. Pricing is very reasonable. Give him a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Benji is a straight forward, honest and quality mechanic. He's willing to work with you to suit your needs concerning a repair and willing to work with you should the repair be too extensive on the wallet to be done all at once. Though the cost where far less than I anticipated. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm not going anywhere else.

This is my go to Automobile repair shop. Caroenters put an engine in my Kia Optima. It was some of the best work I've ever had done. Everything was put back the way it was. Every connection was perfect. I'm a retired mechanic, I know good work when I see it. Caroenters is 9.9 out of 10. The .1 im not giving them is because I had to pay them . They didn't charge too much, I just didn't enjoy spending money ... L🤣L

Can’t say enough about this garage and Benji. My stepdad and I were relocating from Maine to Florida. As we got into SC, we started to experience some car issues. Seemed like it would was transmission related. We found a spot to stay the night. Showed up at the garage when they opened. Benji came right out, checked the transmission fluid and put some in and let us know a bit about the car and basically charged us for the fluid. He was honest, gracious, and knowledgeable. If I lived in the area, no one else would work on my vehicle…. Highly recommend… I would trust the with anything vehicle I owned. Thanks to Benji and the crew, we made it to our new home in Florida safely.

In Nov 2024 my wife was travelling from Ohio to Charleston. One of the brake lines ruptured while passing through Columbia. It was late at night and checked into a motel. I called Benji the next morning. Although they were booked, he made time to get the car fixed and my wife on her way. Now that's what I call service. Thanks, doesn't express my sincere gratitude.

This is an excellent Auto Repair Shop. I am in my "senior years" and I am very "picky" about repair shops for my vehicles. They have repaired both of my vehicles. I appreciate their method of getting service /repairs accomplished. They listen to your concerns and tell you what they would suggest getting done. They schedule your vehicle service / repair based on your convenience and their current work load. They don't rush the job and are very meticulous about getting the service / repair done right the first time. They stand by their work. They are very fair in their cost and don't add any "extra charges" to the repair bill. They communicate very well. They will give you a quote for the service / repair before they do it, so you can determine if this is acceptable to you. They are flexible and will try to help you within their very busy schedule. I took one of my vehicles to the dealership 4x and they couldn't figure out the problem. I went to Carpenters Auto Repair. They diagnosed the problem and fixed it right the first time. I highly recommend this auto repair shop as they are a very trustworthy business.

I can't recommend Benji Carpenter enough – he's an outstanding mechanic that I trust completely. His reputation speaks for itself, and after years of working with him on multiple vehicles, I can confidently say he’s great. He’s worked on my Lexus, Acura, and several Toyota 4Runners that I've owned over the years. The first time I took my car to Benji was many years ago, when I was dealing with vibrations coming from the drive shaft. After a thorough inspection, he identified a faulty universal joint that needed replacing. I believe the repair was around $150, which was very reasonable. Before that, I had taken my car to AAA in Irmo, where they suggested a laundry list of expensive repairs – new struts, shocks, a water pump (which they claimed was leaking, but it wasn’t), and a timing belt, totaling several thousand dollars. It all seemed excessive, especially considering my vehicle had 250k miles. Unsure about the diagnosis, I sought Benji’s second opinion based on a friend’s recommendation. I'm so grateful I did – not only was his assessment accurate, but I avoided spending thousands on repairs that weren’t needed. If I had followed AAA’s advice, I would have been devastated to find the problem still wasn’t fixed! One thing to keep in mind is that Benji's shop is usually very busy, and reaching them by phone can be challenging. But if they can fit you into their schedule, it's absolutely worth the wait. Benji's expertise, honesty, and fair pricing have earned my loyalty over the years. Thanks guys!

My son is a college student in the area. He is from Kentucky. We searched many different auto repair shops and a lot of of them was trying to overcharge my son to repair his vehicle. I spoke to Benji and he had my son drop his vehicle off. He looked at it for him and charged him a fair and reasonable price to fix his car. Benji could’ve been like all of the other mechanics in the area, but he was honest and very helpful 10 out of 10 recommend
