I ended up paying double what I was expecting to pay & they took a long time to service my car. I bought a brand new part for my vehicle and got a call that pieces were missing from the original box and I ended up having to spend an extra $450 on a new part. They never gave me back the old parts so I could try and return it. Chris is very unresponsive also. I rate them a 2.5

The work was done but they weren’t as communicative as I would have liked. For the month that they had my car, I had to take the initiative call about any updates about the repairs despite being told they would reach out. I had to remind the wife of the owner to send an invoice several times and still didn’t receive it until the day before I picked up my car. Chris mentioned that a Cam [sp?] sensor in the engine had been damaged while my car was being repaired and stated it would be replaced at no additional charge. I asked his wife for an updated invoice as written documentation of that repair when I later called to ask about a leak and some other damage I’d noticed. She basically brushed off my request for an invoice including the sensor, telling me she didn’t feel it was necessary since I hadn’t been charged for that particular repair and she’d have to go looking for the original invoice which had already been closed out. I just spent nearly $2000 out of my own pocket so I don’t think this should’ve been as much of a problem as she made it seem. Chris’s offer of a free oil change for the earlier inconveniences managed to be documented on the invoice but why not the repair of the sensor? A service was performed on my vehicle and it only makes sense to notate it whether I was charged for it or not. I probably will not return.

Unfortunately my experience with this company/Marlin was horrible. He was recommended by a friend who obtained his services in the past. My experience was not the same as hers. My son has a Chrysler car which the CV axle, ball bearings & a couple other things needed replacing. Before having my sons car towed to this shop I sent pictures & videos of the car, the make & model and the front right tire etc which needed replacing. After 5 weeks of Marlin working on the car and my son spending almost $2000 in parts & labor, we were later informed by Marlin the left tire cv axle needed replacing which was extra money. In my opinion as the professional he should have stated this at the very beginning. We later find out from him he prefers NOT to work on Chrysler vehicles which should have been mentioned from the very beginning. The end result, my son has to now take his vehicle to another auto shop and pay more money to have the original issue resolved. His communication was poor and delayed. I would not recommend Marlin as an auto mechanic if your looking for good or at least satisfactory work. Proceed with caution if you do.
