Look elsewhere.. A while back I became a Triple A member and decided that I would try one of their Qualifying shops for some car repairs for my Dodge Caliber. After using my scanning tool I discovered that the transmission control module was having issues I told them my suspicions and told them that if I could get the part ordered and get the transmission control module replaced That's all the work I needed to do As I had gone to my local mechanic 1st to get a diagnostic as well. They told me that they would prefer to do their own diagnostic And After going over rates with them I told them that I had a diagnostic from a trusted mechanic And would just like the new part installed. The mechanic I was speaking with over the phone informed me that the car. Still might not work and ask what I was planning on doing if that happened. I told him that if after the repairs it still didn't work. I would take the car back as is. He proceeded to laugh at this point And told me it was my call. After ordering the part and getting it installed. Surprise, surprise the car still didn't work. Deciding to take the loss on this I asked for a diagnostic After they completed their diagnostic they told me that there were a variety of issues with the vehicle and that it would cost well over 3000 additional dollars. I decided to cut my losses and try my usual mechanic. And ask for my diagnostic and a print out so I can show it to the next mechanic. And was told by the mechanic printing out the diagnostic to sit in my lazy chair and read it. Certainly annoyed I took my vehicle back to my usual mechanic and he inspected their work. He discovered that everything was indeed hooked up Correctly except for One part on the transmission control Module he then fixed it with a zip tie (at no cost) and did not know what they were talking about with the additional repairs the car needed. ( side note ever since that minor subtitle repair the cars worked great ever since) I paid for a 3rd diagnostic from a different mechanic. Just in case for some reason my trusted mechanic was trying to pull a fast one on me and after taking it to the Dodge dealership and getting a diagnostic They also found no correlation with the additional things that certified automotive Tried to rack up on me. For your sake just move on to a different mechanic.

**Edit: Maybe they got too big? Maybe they've had turnover. Every time I've called it's been 2+ weeks before they'll even look at a simple problem (door handle fell off last time, not much diagnosing there). No further comment on their service.... simply because I can't seem to get service. I found a new, more available shop. They don't seem to reward loyalty, so I'm moving on. I'm new to Salem and did a bunch of research to find a good repair place. I'm super happy to have settled on Certified Automotive Repair! They were very nice and VERY knowledgeable from the start. They took my time constraints into account and did their best to meet them. They even helped me secure a rental! Their explanations of work and cost have been thorough. **I will be recommending them to anyone who needs car repair!

I took my 1997 F-250 diesel in to have it safety checked and any needed repairs completed. I chose Certified Automotive because I read they have a good diesel mechanic. I am very happy with the work and service they provided. I was updated on everything they found and given an explanation of the work needed. The repairs were reasonably priced. I am looking forward to knowing I can safely tow my trailer and horse this year.

I came down from Portland to look at a vehicle at a dealership nearby this shop. I called around to a few places and they scoffed at the fact I was trying to schedule a same day appointment with a mechanic. I realized it would be near impossible to get in somewhere for an inspection with such short notice. One shop recommended I tried Certified Auto Repairs, so I called. I was in disbelief when they said they could do it. I drove the vehicle down there, and they got me in and out within a couple hours. This is unheard of in the Mechanic industry, especially for a reasonably priced, smaller shop. I cannot say enough how grateful I am that they were able to get me in same day for a pre-purchase inspection. They did a thorough job and pointed out all issues/concerns with the vehicle. The tech who did the inspection postponed his lunch in order to squeeze me into their busy schedule. Extremely appreciative, would recommend this place to EVERYONE!

I drove my car across the country and it was due for some work when I got here. There was a laundry list of items so I was not expecting a small bill. Wes kept me updated on the status of my car and an estimate of total cost based on services performed and there were zero surprises on the final invoice. One of the things needing addressing was a coolant leak only while the engine was cold which they promptly found the cause of and I haven't leaked coolant now 3 weeks later after receiving my car back so I am very happy with the work done. Don't go here expecting cheap labor but they are very thorough and will have you back on the road. What really had me blown away was that with my busy work schedule as a nurse I wouldn't have been able to pick up my car for quite a few days when it was finished but they offered to drop it off at the hospital I was working at and actually made it happen. I still am so grateful for that; thank you guys. That kind of service deserves 6/5 stars and I am very glad I went here. Would recommend to anyone!
