Dropped my car off on Friday. I called at the end of the day, they did not get to It, said theyd do It Saturday. I called saturday, twice, no answer. Third call the girl didn't even know what or where my car was. Said the owners would call me back. He didn't. Sunday, all day, no call. Went to pick Up my car off the lot. Ridiculous customer service. No service. Do not recommend whatsoever.

I took my car here to have them check my engine because I thought there was smoke coming out of the exhaust. The clerk told me the engine needed to be replaced. Over $7,000 job. I took it to another shop to get a second opinion and they said the engine was fine. The shop charged me $180 to diagnose a problem that didn’t exist. Do not take your vehicle here! They will lie to you and take your money.

Our Honda Odyssey minivan’s check engine light started blinking and our engine started running rough while we were driving home to Northern Virginia from North Carolina. A quick google search indicated our engine was misfiring and we needed to pull over right away. We were stranded at a major interchange with no safe place to go, with two children and our dog. After several calls with our insurance company, where they dispatched a tow truck that could not offer us transport due to Covid, we decided to call the closest local repair shop we found via Google. Thank God we did! Mike immediately understood our situation and said he and the shop’s owners would work with us to get us safely to the shop and get us back on the road ASAP. The owners, Teresa and Paul, were beyond accommodating, allowing our family, including our dog, to camp in their waiting area while they diagnosed what was wrong, got parts, and fixed the van. They stayed beyond closing time to make sure we could get home tonight. Mike, Paul and Teresa were caring, personable, and professional. They truly went above and beyond for my family. Stranded 3 hours from home with no friends, family or acquaintances in the area, I truly feel God took care of us bringing us to Chesapeake Auto & Transmission. I recommend them without reservation.

If I could leave less than one review I would. I was severely overcharged for a diagnostic. After explaining twice what the problem I was having and for him to overlook what my concerns were and tell me it was an issue not what I explained. He was just looking for an issue that was costly. He also boasted about how he is changing things in the office. This should have deterred me, but I was concerned with my car being repaired. He (I am guessing the tech manager) mentioned in my presence how he brought in 2400 the day before. That is not conversation you should have in front of customers. I say this because I had to get another diagnostic pergormed, not telling them my previous experience was and find it was not that problem at all and he wanted to charge me $1400.00 to repair. When I told him that was not something I could afford. Thats when he said the diagnostic would be 190.00. I asked why so much. He replied "I don't make the rules". I stated there is nothing posted so you can make it up as you go along. No reply. This is disgusting, deplorable, inexcusable and should be a crime. I hope the owners read this.

They were so helpful and guided me through the credit process which was awesome. My anxiety completely went away when they told me my car would be done the next day. So helpful and patient. If you are in a jam do yourself a favor and come see them. They will help you have a much better day.

I would give 0 stars if I could. I paid a lot of money to get work done on my car here, and honestly, it was a huge disappointment. They had my vehicle for a few days, and once I got it back, I was already having issues. It feels like the job was only done halfway, yet I was charged an arm and a leg. For what I paid, I expected better service and results. It makes you wonder about all the glowing reviews — they seriously seem like they're from friends or family trying to boost the ratings. I’d recommend saving your money and taking your car somewhere else. Don't make the same mistake I did.

I brought my Ford escape in for them to look at. I'll be honest I had quite a few issues going on and had no idea what they were or where to start. I did know the transmission needed replacing so that's what led me to Chesapeake Auto and transmission. Every person I spoke with at the shop was kind and knowledgeable. If I had any questions they made sure to answer in a way I could understand what they were talking about. They worked with me when it came to payments and always made sure I was happy at the end of our conversations. It took awhile to get it all fixed and ready to roll (not their fault at all, just that many things needed to be done) but once it was ready they were quick to get me in for pick up and made sure I knew to bring it back if anything were to go wrong while I was driving it the next few weeks. I'm happy to say my ole girl is still driving nicely, I drive her everyday and haven't had any issues since. Thank you to everyone who helped me. I will surely recommend this place to my friends and family who have car needs.

i call the shop they quote me 360 for a valve gasket cover replacement , i get there they say 380 and then i receive a text the bill saying it will be 400, they then repair the gasket but some how manage to mess up the R&R valve cover causing oil to spill over the entire engine bay causing it to smoke while i’m driving (a problem i didn’t have before, per the diagnostic done by the dealership) i’m charged 50$ for that , i pick it up and the car still smokes they say it’s residual oil & the cleaner they used to clean it . (why didn’t they clean it off initially?) so they clean it and it stops smoking , great , but now i’m back to the original problem again, it smells like burnt oil while i drive it’s been a few days and well over 100 miles (the time period they said the smell will go away) . i wont be returning to this shop just for oversights and errors and they continually make for a 4th time .

These workers at this company were very nice due to our situation. Me and my family had gotten a rental car for our vacation, and once our car broke down ghosted us for days. These guys worked on our car and made it amazing. Very nice personalities beyond all the workers and very nice humor. Despite the rental car company being cheap and deciding to weld our almost completely broken exhaust i believe, these guys made the car go almost 550 more miles. I very appreciate all these workers and getting us home after being stranded for 2 days, 9 hours away from home. THANK YOU

These guys are FANTASTIC!! Life savers!! I came from another state away. My breaks went absolutely Out!! In a REALLY Bad way. I googled the closest place to me at the time. I Literally Limped into there parking lot!! And they took me right in!! Yes it was a little on the expensive side. But what these guys did for my Yukon COULD Have taken them 2-3 Days to take care of enough to get me back on the road again. But these Wonderful guys told me right off the bat exactly what was wrong. Found the correct parts, and got me the best prices I could have asked for for replacement parts and had them ALL delivered within hours. Reassembled EVERYTHING! And had Me back on the road in less then 4 hours. I couldn't have asked for better. I'm greatfull i was able to limp into there parking lot that day. God Bless them. And Thank you Again for all that you guys did for me and mine. I would actually drive the 4 hours to get back to these guys if I have issues again. It is TOTALLY Worth it!!
