We were driving through Nampa on a Sunday when our car starting smoking and overheating. We pulled over and tried to find an open auto shop - but most were closed. When we called Chief Automotive we got routed to Martin (Owner? Worker? Don't know - but awesome guy) and he helped us diagnose and fix our car over the phone. Not only did he help us figure out what was going on, but he also took the opportunity to teach us so we have a bit more knowledge about cars. He was super great and a lifesaver. Thank you Martin!

This place is my favorite part about Idaho! Martin is so honest, and as a single female dealing with car issues can be a nightmare but Martin will not only never over charges and he is so good about explaining things so you understand and stands behind his work! He always goes the extra mile! If you need cheaper alternatives he’s great and recommendations but he will never do anything that’s not needed! So honest!

This repair shop has a small town feel to it. It's not polished and cleaned like the vig companies. There are cars everywhere, all in various stages of repair. But each one is an active repair and not the usual repair yard rot. The gentleman was kindly and welcoming, very straight forward about the price and how long it would take and when I could expect a call. I want to add that I called ahead the previous day and he told me when he had an opening. I showed up at the designated time and was given the experiance as outlined above. He took my vehicle out and confirmed the issue. Asked me again if that's what I'm after. when I confirmed it, he pulled it in and his other mechanic went right to it. Just like that. He let me linger and wander the shop as I demonstrated common sense and shop safety with my conduct. He told me what was going to happen with my vehicle and I can say, the transparency was wonderful. This is a living example of not judging a book by it's cover, and I urge anyone, recommend even, that if you have autowork? Take it here. But as always do your responsibility, and research the shops. As for me. This is where I will have my automotive work done from this point forward.

Great mechanic. We had our alternator go out while traveling through. We called and he came to us to take a look, even called one of the businesses near our car to let them know we were stranded. He was quick to give us information and to fix things. Great at responding to calls and updating us. Also, the bill was a lot less then we planned on it being! If we are ever in the area and need someone again we will not hesitate to go here!

Martin is the guy you want at Chief Auto. He said he doesn't read these reviews, but I'm posting for those who have a vehicle around Canyon County that need service. He was great with thoroughness, effort, transparency/honesty, and pricing. Insisted on fixing a minor problem for me before purchasing expensive replacement parts I didn't need. Would definitely recommend!!
