Wife & I have been using Chuck's for a few years now, & today sums up why. Got quotes around Bham for two rear seatbelts, Chuck had the lowest quote which was great. Today, when the work was done they called to let us know the work was A LOT less & so the actual charge was going to be $150 less than the quote! Everyone's fear is mechanics that will take advantage of them. I'd never known if Chuck's would've went ahead & charged me the full-quoted price. Instead they did the right thing & earned a customer for life...I mean, as long as we live in Bham.

this one time i cleaned my throttle body and i was being an idiot and couldn't figure out why i had only 1/8th throttle, i took it to sterling's auto behind boomers and dude wanted me to pay 80 upfront just to look at it and wanted an appointment and was pretty rude. took it to Chuck and chuck says im real busy but let me take a quick look. he comes out and immediately sticks his finger under the throttle cable and pulls it out and on top of the pulley and it instantly gave me full range back. chuck is the man because he gives you honest prices and haven't been able to find anyone that can out do this mans car knowledge .

Best general automotive repair in the Bellingham area. Chuck is the man and he is running a tight ship and making sure things are right and people are happy. Just had a starter replaced and the new one didn't quite sound right, so Chuck apologized and immediately ordered a new one.He then swapped it in at no further charge, even though getting to the starter is a real bear on my vehicle and labor was the majority of the replacement cost. Chuck just makes it right. So fantastic and so rare in this field. Ask the tow companies around town. They know and will tell you Chuck is a rare honest mechanic. I couldn't be happier with Chuck's Midtown Motors.

These guys are so AWESOME. Tom the service writer always has a smile on his face. Chuck must have been that kid in highschool that always knew everything car related, who loved working on cars so much that he opened his own Auto Shop. I super appreciated when the dealer of my almost new car said I need a brake fluid flush to remove moisture from the fluid. I talked to Chuck and he said thats crazy for my two year old japanese car. He said he could check it for my peace of mind. Swung by he tested it with a meter and and as he he said it should be, there was zero moisture. Top Rated shop to take care of your vehicles needs .They know their stuff.

Great spot to have car serviced, including location.. Can hang out at the coffee shop, Makeworth Market. Wi-Fi, call free, food, products for sale. Kind and forthright service from Chuck, and Tom. Trustworthy. As a single woman I felt confident with the reliability of their diagnosis, cost, and repair. The Nissan Dealer was $100.00 more and I do not go there anymore if I do not have to.

I had my timing belt/water pump replaced. I had attempted this repair myself and couldn't finish due to a lack of adequate tools in my garage (stuck crankshaft bolt), but I was familiar with the whole procedure. I didn't feign ignorance, but I still let the mechanic explain everything in detail to me. In my opinion the people at Chucks are some of the few honest mechanics left. My only gripe is that the price was slightly higher than other places, but still well worth the integrity. I'll visit them again.

I was having car troubles and called Chuck's and they were able to get me in the next day to get it looked at. They called me and told me all the things that were wrong but never forced anything on me. They were very informational and helped me with understanding what I needed worked on. With my previous experience with mechanics, they really seem to pressure you or make you feel like you don't have a choice. They broke down ALL the costs with me, showed me exactly what I would be paying for, and made me feel like they weren't hiding anything. I highly recommend Chuck's Midtown Motors for those who know little or a lot about cars, they make you feel welcome and understood.

I've used Chuck's several times over the last 3 years as I was driving a car from 1990 that often needed repairs. They were always honest with me about the cheapest way to fix something and let me know what was and wasn't worth fixing while I finished saving for a new car. Beware of this shop. I brought my Toyota tacoma in here before moving across the country and wanted a transmission fluid change and spark plug change. I decided to let them change the oil and this was a mistake. I have changed my own oil on this truck for the last 40,000 miles and I have never lost the little cap that goes under the filter excess drain nipple, but these guys somehow lost it. I just went to do the oil change again and it’s nowhere to be found, and they touched it last. Also, now the bottom of my transmission fluid pan is soaked in transmissions fluid and it’s dripping down on my driveway from an unknown source. Never had this issue before, but they either overfilled it or didn’t tighten something up properly and now I have to deal with it. If you want it done right I guess you gotta do it yourself. I didn’t have the time as we were moving and I trusted these guys and I guess that’s what I get… Update: I had another shop take a look at the transmission fluid leak and it was determined that there was no seal washer installed when the fluid was replaced. This shop installed the correct washer and made sure the fluid level was correct.

I've done most of my own vehicle work. Not only because I can, but I don't like dealing with what has historically been rude, arrogant, dishonest, and overly expensive service. My perceptions have been challenged. I brought in my Mazda to fix a sporadic electrical issue that I couldn't pin down. Not only was the price incredibly reasonable, but the guys were incredibly friendly. They clearly communicated what they saw and what my options were for a repair. I'll definitely be coming back. I had to go out of town for a month, I had them do a big tune up on my truck and make sure it was ready for the 5k miles I was about to drive. They did incredible work, were honest and made me feel like family. While I was gone my girlfriend needed work on her car. I was scared any other shop might try to take advantage of her so I recommend Chuck. She also had an incredible experience. A few days after her service something completely unrelated came up, again while I was gone, she called Chuck and he went out of his way to make sure she got taken care of and was safe. I'm engulfed with joy knowing such an incredible business is ran right down the street from me. I will never take my vehicle anywhere else.
